With the SEC teams kicking off on Saturday it feels like the appropriate time to start this thread after the regular season started with a bit of a whimper.
If I had to pick an upset from this week's games I'd be looking at Kentucky over Auburn in a low scoring game.
Additionally, today conferences like the Pac-12 and Mountain West who had originally cancelled their seasons have now agreed to play half schedules kicking off at the end of October/beginning of November.

I've watched nothing but Bearcats highlights and they look solid so far, hoping UC doesn't get knocked down too far once the rest of the conferences start play. But the real season begins on October 24th for me...

UC have got a really strong defensive front, they limited Army's triple option very well and forced them to mainly run out to the perimeter. Army really beat themselves with poor turnovers in the second half, and costly penalties that their offence simply isn't equipped to overcome. I wasn't particularly impressed by Cincinnati's offence. Ridder was quite inaccurate early, and had issues with his passes being batted down at the line of scrimmage throughout, but they did just enough to win against an admittedly stout defence.

This week's Wednesday replay was Auburn/Georgia - and boy what a one sided game that was. Auburn started off with consecutive false starts on their first two offensive plays and barely got any better from there. The only real bright spot was their freshman RB Bigsby who flashed a few nice plays. but the passing offense never got on track. On the other side of the ball one of their defensive leaders got disqualified early for targeting on kick coverage which seemed to really set them back.
Georgia were able to establish the run with Zeus White and Dalvin Cook's brother James from the get go, and that opened up some deep shots with the Auburn linebackers playing up in the box. Apparently the Bulldogs offensive line struggled the previous week against Arkansas, but they absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage here. Even sprinkling in their backup rushers in the second half, they were still ripping off big gains on virtually every carry.
I'm planning on doing this throughout the season so if anyone's particularly interested in a matchup, please let me know. I have access to the 3/4 main ESPN games. Try and avoid spoilers!

Went back and watched Florida/South Carolina as well because I wanted to check out the two Kyles. Impossible not to be impressed by TE Pitts who is just a freak, incredible catch radius and an absolute beast in the redzone - I expect him to certainly be a round 1 draft pick come next April. Trask too has started the season on fire, becoming the first SEC QB since Tim Couch in 1998 to pass for 10 touchdowns in his first two games. He's got a bit of Big Ben about him and might push Lawrence for the Heisman if he can keep up this form.

I'm so glad MACtion is back. Watching Central Michigan vs Ohio and the power went out with a minute left in the first half, so they took half time early and have just come back to play the remaining time.

Another one for the good guys UT

For some reason we got the high school game instead of CFB on ESPN here today, and since this has basically become my personal thread..
I love high school football because you often have one guy who is just so much better than everyone else out on the field. This kid Braylin Presley from Bixby in Oklahoma rattled off over 400 yards and 5 touchdowns in three quarters - apparently he only had one P5 offer, I bet that changes!

Big time dub by Notre Dame at home vs almighty Clemson. Watching this game, the backup Tigers QB looked good, how much does the talent make Trevor Lawrence? The kid threw for over 400 yards and looked amazing for the most part.
EDIT And the college students are storming the field. Ridiculous. First Trevor Lawrence is allowed to stand just chilling with his teammates on the bench despite being in COVID protocol and then after the win the Irish fans storm the field in 100's. Crazy.

I knew Uiagaleiei was going to be a beast the first time I heard about him through QB1 - and he wasn't even one of the kids they were featuring! Looking forward to quoting my post from when he committed to Clemson that he'd be a #1 pick in a couple of years time!

Rare full Saturday of CFB for me today! Enjoyed Notre Dame’s performance against a gutsy Boston College. Book and the offence didn’t have a let down after last week against Clemson. Jurkovec reminds me quite a bit of Ben Roethlisberger and although he was clearly fired up to play his former team I thought his accuracy was quite poor today, and some self inflicted errors meant they couldn’t keep pace. ND’s Owusu-Koramoah looks like an absolute star and seems like a sure fire round 1 draft pick.
Unfortunately the night game was a complete embarrassment for Michigan as they were completely destroyed by Wisconsin. Michigan looked completely unprepared and just flat out bad and were rightfully steamrolled by a physical Badgers team. I flipped over to the Florida game because if you’re going to watch a blowout then there might as well be some good QB play, and man is Kyle Trask a weapon. Didn’t have Pitts this week and still threw 6 touchdowns. He’s looking good for the Heisman.

Harbaugh is shit. His overall legacy with Michigan has been forever tarnished. Ohio State's gonna eat him alive this year, and he'll be fired and tied to the endzone poll in the Big House.
And speaking of shit, how about Penn State. They started their season ranked in the Top 10, and now they're 0-4 after losing to Nebraska.
And Indiana's now 4-0, and Northwestern's 3-0. Talk about a weird season in the Big 10.

Michigan/Ohio State has been cancelled.
Does this mean Ohio State's now out of the Big Ten Title game?

As a Bucks fan - I really hope they don't. It sucks that it's no longer the greatest CFB rivalry anymore but at the same time, having grown up in the 90's when _ichigan consistently embarrassed us, I love seeing U of M's yearly downfall.

It's (sort of) bowl season! I'm watching both games today and tomorrow, so join me if you're cool!
Tulane/Nevada has been rather one sided unfortunately. Nevada came out running early which is out of character for them, but as the first half wore on they started to unleash their air raid offence to decent effect. Carson Strong is being projected as a possible first round pick if he declares for the draft, and you can see why with his powerful arm. Tulane have been very spotty, their QB seems to really be struggling with the weather but has managed to hit a couple of big plays to keep the score somewhat respectable. They're missing some starters and it's showing.

Tulane showed a bit more life in the second half and made it midly interesting (and Nevada helped by insisting on running the ball a ton even though the passing offence was far more effective) but a rather embarrassing series where their QB held the ball ridiculously long and got sacked on three straight plays ended any chance they had of mounting a comeback. I am interested to see how he plays. I watched him last week vs SDSU and thought he played a really polished game against one of the better college defences and was really composed in the face of a pretty fierce pass rush. Looking forward to seeing him play in a shootout game this time.

We're going to need this talk about Zach Wilson, kid looks dynamite. Maybe it's not vs the very, very best competition but this dude is electric. I am still Team Darnold but I get it if they don't bite into him given his health and year 5 option year being expensive.
Hate to stress one game but coming off that iffy performance vs Northwestern, Fields has to kill it in the CFB Playoff vs CLEM. Everyone will observe Lawrence but Fields has more riding on that.

To be fair I think I'd put up some numbers on this UCF defence, they aren't covering anyone. This is a total mismatch, not sure I'll bother with the second half.

These games have been super disappointing so far, lots of blowouts. There are usually some gems pre-Christmas but it seems like all the disruptions to the season and conference restrictions has led to a lot of mismatched teams playing each other. Hopefully this means that the NY6 games deliver!

He's the anti-Danny Manning in just about every way imaginable. I have high hopes, but I also had high hopes for Manning. We'll see what happens.

Is it fair to say Miss St are a bunch of dirty pieces of shit? I thought Mike Leach was all offense and am surprised they keep getting into these altercations. You see that one kid kick the other @admin ? Not a fan of the Miss St kids ripping that QBs helmet and putting cheapshots. Absolutely dirty university. I'd suspend him for a while for this, what a punk.
