I don't understand the tournament for the world title. If the winner gets a title shot "after" full gear, then what is happening at full gear with the title?

Pretty sure someone told me those two bad matches Swole had with Britt shouldn't be on Swole. Swole like the majority of the AEW women's division are just very green.

AEW has built up 3 invincible champions and FTR is destined to lose to The Young Bucks and The Young Bucks only. I don't like this.

I didn't need a title change or a surprise return to feel good about tonight, but it would have helped. They didn't even put on that good of a show. Tag titles was mediocre, women's title was sloppy, TNT title was OK, main event was fine...and all just to do Mox/Kingston some more?

It just seemed like the show was destined to be mediocre. The whole premise of AEW was built around Kenny Omega and the Bucks and neither worked the show leaving us with a predictible show that didn't shift gears at any point. At least a title change or a new arrival would have spiced things up.

It wasn't a terrible show by any means but they obviously could have done more to spice the presentation up.

The MJF/Jericho shit is absolutely painful and I can tolerate this type of carny stuff but this has dragged on way too long. It's just become change the channel for me honestly. MJF beats around the bush too much where it's lost the charm and Jericho plays along with it too.

Tag title and TNT title matches were good. Dark order were on tv for a brief flash. I liked those things.

Lance looked unenthused, or maybe mox did too? Big swole was not impressive. Id rather have seen kilyn king, red velvet, abadon...

I think that segment killed the show for me.

Regardless it was nice to be a part of one of these party threads for once. I had some technical difficulties and my hot takes are a little rusty but you guys helped me enjoy the show more. For instance I took no notice of Cody's hair until nazzer pointed out. It even made the goobers (and Anna Jay) somewhat tolerable.

Another tolerable show, but as a product of the Attitude Era, I'm jonesing for some pay-offs. Everything just feels like a build-up, even on a show like this where you should do something shocking to get tongues wagging.

With that said, c should be happy because Eddie Kingston has clearly won over the brass at AEW and is really out-punting his coverage.

It's crazy to think guys like him and Cassidy were two of the most featured stars on the show. Think back to the Casino Battle Royal, and the one joke character is now pushing one of the biggest stars in the company to the limit.

I wonder if they'll do something different for the TNT Title rematch? Maybe waive the 20 minute limit for a 60 minute one, so there's a likely winner?

Really disliked the show. Too heavy on sports entertainment crap. MJF is dying in these forced funny promos. It would be one thing if there was a crowd there. You need a crowd for funny.

The tag title match was awful, arcade spot included. Women's match and main event were so-so. This was not memorable in any good way.

I'm bored of FTR now. They used to be special, now they're just a generic cheating heel team.

Angles like the one they set up with MiroKip and Best Friends are why I dislike the sports entertainment style. So convoluted and nonsensical. Sports entertainers don't act like human beings, they act like cartoon characters. Why are Best Friends being blamed for destroying the arcade machine when it was very clearly FTR who was at least partially responsible? It's fucking dumb.

Also, why is there an arcade machine in a wrestling arena in the first place? It literally has no purpose other than to set up a feud in really convoluted and stupid way.

Speaking of wrestlers acting like cartoon characters, MJF and Chris Jericho everybody! Yet another cringe segment between these two. MJF came across as a real try hard (more so than usual), took forever to get to the point, and wasn't funny. I liked Ortiz randomly playing the straight man, saying what we're all thinking, but that was strange coming from the goofy guy with the afro who does that stupid rah rah tiger pose in the ring.

Didn't like Cody vs Cassidy very much.

Didn't like Shida vs Swole either. Shida was uncharacteristically sloppy. Swole was sloppy too, but not sure if that's uncharacteristic. Swole's finisher is a bit shit, isn't it?

Moxley vs Archer was OK.

Overall, disappointing show. Good time for me to get out of AEW.

Interesting. I thought I would be the minority here, but everyone thought the show sucked and criticised the sports entertainment of it all.

Interlude over, back to real wrestling. The G1 Climax!

It is amazing because when Jericho did this with Kevin Owens, it felt much more natural and great, with MJF it's way too rehearsed and obnoxiously fake. It's just dreadful, there are so many other places MJF can go to and feud with. Orange Cassidy being one of them if they truly want Orange to get a decent spot on the show. Cassidy vs Wardlow with the latter destroying him and MJF mocking him until Pockets comes on back and flukes out a win on MJF or MJF cheats and DQs himself.

Like I said the other week, I'm really struggling to wrap my head around the division.

As far as I'm concerned, FTR is this overrated tag team that only found their hands on the title becuase they were able to drive a wedge through the Elite. The Jurassic Express, SCU and the Best Friends are all better teams, but FTR resort to lame 80s tactics and they're holding this division hostage. Unfortunately there appears to be no end in sight since the Bucks are mad about what happened between them and Hangman and can't bring themselves to wrestle.

I look at FTR and just think 'Vince was right'. Not because they don't entertain me, but because of how they're booked on the show.

Also did you see the finish? The referee had to act like a complete moron for it to make sense.

I'll give them some benefit of the doubt, it wasn't like Cash drove Trent through the cabinet. Trent threw Cash over there and was planning to spear him through it so Trent was far more in the wrong. Also anger is never rational, people will just flip out at the easy target.

Did they establish the cabinet was some kind of wedding present from Tony Khan or incentive for Miro to sign? When is this Billy Mitchell rumspringa going down?

I just don't get Miro, or why he had to be in an enhancement match on an Anniversary Show that was already stretched for time.

Miro is another one where I go 'Vince was right' because he's this guy who could be good but he's slumming it with this low tier talent. I understand he's still got plenty of time and they're trying to introduce more layers but this has been a rough start.

I like the idea of these two working together and I suspect they'll have some good moments together and it'll help MJF but this was really goofy and it has been ever since they did that post-All Out gag.

Moxley vs Archer was OK.

I thought it was really odd that they went into picture in picture. They built this up for the match, this should have been the show piece of the entire show and instead it hardly felt any different from any other Moxley match. It also was no where near as dramatic as Mr. Brodie Lee and Cody from the previous week.

It was fine but I thought the finish sucked. If you're going to protect a monster, I find having the babyface cheat to win to be far more effective than having them lose on some fluke roll-up. Royal Rumble 2007 is a great example where the finish makes the match and actually helped put Umaga over. Unless they're planning on doing a Archer/Moxley rematch ASAP this buried Lance.
