These Countdowns may or may not take place. My tentative plan is to make this a long term project so everybody has time to watch any Raw or Smackdown match they desire. If we do go through with a Raw Match Countdown, it won't be for a few months. Smackdown takes priority for the time being.

But countdown or no, every wrestling message board needs to have a thread of Best Raw Matches. Pretty sure it's a rule. So I'll get us started in a minute.

A few of those matches don't really hold up. I may write about one of them tomorrow. Others are great angles, but only so-so matches at best.

I clearly lacked courage in 2008. There is no other explanation for including all those played out 2000s Ladder Matches like Hardys/E&C, RVD/Eddie, and RVD/Christian while awesome stuff like the Hart Foundation Flag Match and Dude Love's debut missed even the HM cut. Oh well. At least I had the conviction to leave off the 2002 Raw TLC, Perfect/Flair, and the HHH/Jericho phantom title change.

Two bouts from the 2010s will rank extremely high on my list if I do this again, while a third 2010s match is currently sitting comfortably in Honorable Mention country.
