New Year - New Idea. So after finding the lost episodes I started to get the itch to yak into the mic again. Beats shouting to hear the echoes in the house. Anyways this time we (as if it isn't just me) will be reporting a little different. This time each episode will talk about what happened to PW "that week". This was mostly a test episode to see if it'll work. This show will cover Jan 1st to the 4th.

PW News was down to a 1.0 for a little while but the 1.1 hath returned.

I like the idea of weekly PW News updates. Doing it every day spoiled us....and also made episodes skippable. Once a week makes it 'must listen' again. Every few days would also work.

These are the sorts of things I want answers to. It was WrestleMania (no number at the time) then 2, III and IV. So IV was when it was settled to go with Roman numerals. Who made that call? Was it to copy the SuperBowl? From III to XII, it was Roman numerals, so why did they decide to go with 13 after all those years?

Why does WWE not understand how anniversaries work? How did nobody realise Mania 25 was not the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania? If you want it to sound grand, just call it The 25th Annual WrestleMania. Did Vince McMahon think it was his 2nd wedding anniversary one year after he got married? This isn't even an isolated incident. Mania X was tagged 10 Years in the Making rather than 9. For such a supposedly detail-oriented guy, these do seem odd. Of all the things that fucking WCW got right, it was calling the 11th Starrcade in 1993 the 10th anniversary of Starrcade for Flair's hometown victory over Vader.

Should Mania 29 officially be called WrestleMania NY/NJ?

The only Mania since XXVIII that has been billed with a number is XXX, the one you'd think they'd avoid due to the porn connotations. I'm sure it must have been brought up in some meeting. These are the conversations I'd want recordings of. Vince: "The XXX stays! In fact, make sure the stage has a giant XXX on it! WrestleMaaaaniiiiiaaaa, it's better than sex!" Should its official name be stylised xXx like the logo was?

Why have they dropped the numbering? Does Vince think it makes Mania seem old and tired, not young and sexy?

So it's a brand new year. And I'm looking over here. And I'm noticing that the horse is still breathing, so we haven't beaten it when it's already dead yet. And that is because pw news is continuing. For 2021 the new I guess the new goal of pw news is not to be another 100 episodes, not to, you know, cover every day. Least none, not outright. See for the new, I guess season a pw news for 2021 however long it last is going to be sort of a a weekend review, a recap of everything that happened with pw since the last episode where we talked about pw. So I figured let's just start off the new year cap and everything that happened or important stuff that happened so far in this website forum are a little tucked away corner on the internet that we call our pro boards Academy. So there's only four days so far in January. But that's okay, I'm just going to go back as far as the new year because, you know, that's as far as I wrote my notes for. So one thing I do have to point out, and that is we're starting with the loss here. If you go down to the WWE section, you will notice something and this isn't unheard of on our website. It's happened once or twice, or maybe 11 times. But uh, every once in a while. Things get a little slow. Maybe not the board itself, because it's I think the activity is, you know, pretty consistent. But every once in a while a forum goes without much activity, no updates, no posts, just, it just lays dormant. And it gets so far back that even on when you're browsing, it doesn't say last post yesterday. It says last post and it gives you the date. So that's how you know it's been a few days. And no one has posted at least when I looked earlier.

It was cancerous. But it was also what brought us all together because whether you you like certain types of wrestling your you watch the web, you were aware of the web. So yeah, that always felt like like a Toys R Us being the big store in the mall or the little shopping strip. You know, before they went out of business. That was the anchor store Sears and that's how I saw WWE, but not a single post all year long. I don't know if anything happened, or just nothing is you know, because cloudless crowds. Yeah, no post no updates, no nothing. It says 2020 on it. So that's how bad wrestling is. I guess it would be if the rest of the forum was also, you know, no post in 2020. But that can't be the case. Because, you know, the other part of wrestling the rest of wrestling is doing just fine. Well, I said is uh, you know, getting along because I don't know if it was reported this year or not. But uh, recently Brodie Lee, aka Luke Harper, passed away. He died. And kind of weird seeing some outlets thinking that it's overbought it. People are overreacting. I think what people don't understand why it's such a big deal is it's, it doesn't usually happen to an active member of the roster. Someone who is you know, still going Eddie was a huge one, obviously, he shall not be named for different reasons. Oh, and it's, it's, it's different when it's someone that they're interacting with or you see on a regular basis, you know, when a legend dies, unfortunately, it's kind of like a long loss. Not long lost, but like a great grandma that you may be seen once or twice in the past decade. It's sad, but they're kind of distant and it doesn't feel as much of a stain. Or at least that's what I was thinking. But yeah, Brody Lee passed away. He, he died. And we learned a lot about him, and he's, he was a great dad. And that's something you don't hear a lot about these days. Like, just just a good good dude with his kids. I forget the dude's name. But there's a there's a guy in NXT I don't think he made his main roster. I don't even think he's a regular NXT I think he's just had a match or two but the dude that plays the guitar and then he's he's like 80s you know? out there, dude. But

he's a good dad apparently because he has that YouTube channel where his wife films from working out. So you don't hear too much about those so to see a good a dad die kind of sucks. But uh, seemed like his kids were big fans. So you probably see them you know, working work in the indie scene until they eventually make their main roster I wonder if in 20 years at GW is going to be around but uh in addition to Brodie Lee the other the other big thing real quick thing in his broken record is wrestle kingdom is currently going on or it might the first part might already be over but wrestle Kingdom if you don't know, is essentially new Japan's WrestleMania it is their, their biggest show of the year. It's always on January 4, no matter what the day is, which always kind of weird since you know, we never have pay per views off a Sunday. And it's always an April, it's still the same one. But you know what, I'm you know what I mean, you wouldn't have WrestleMania on like a Wednesday. But apparently that's what that that's just how Japan rolls and it has gotten so big that it's read in recent years, it's actually gone over two nights. So instead of you know cramming everything in they split it up and I don't know what that is if that's a revenue thing or if it's just you know, timewise because I don't know four or five hours maybe they they figure two and a half each is a little more because you know after a certain after a certain point I don't care how patient you are cuz I could never watch a rest like one of those four or five hour because there's no there's no musical guests. There's no you know, all these promos these backstage stuff. It's just straight up wrestling. And I don't know I don't know why the like the second to last match the last match. I probably be a little impatient. I'm just kind of wrap it up guys. So maybe that was a thing. But yeah, it's going on right now. People are given thoughts. And yeah, it's, it's it's a thing that happens every year. It's the big one. And it looks like they're actually having probably the biggest crowd ever, ever since the pandemic looks like it's got a full, super no vacancy Full House. And they're all wearing masks, and it's probably all going to gonna die together because they're all going to get Coronavirus, which will probably be the last boss that whoever's the champion will have to face. Maybe save us all that will be whatever the next big show is. Maybe that's maybe Corona channel just joined the G one. I don't know. So Japan is having wrestling and Brody died. So he's obviously not not at that show. Women of wrestling.

I kind of scroll back it's almost the history that history the sports Empire, the wrestling section, but uh, yeah, they're the only real thing to discuss this year is there's post in the main roster women thread, which I guess is just a catch all WWE now, and I guess NXT isn't main roster anymore. But you know, to me, it's just WWE stuff. And Sonya DeVille made her return from wherever she was. I don't know if she was injured following her feud with what's her face. But she was gone for a while. And she's back. Apparently, she made her return. By walking backstage, I think I heard Brian Alvarez on YouTube. bitching about that. It's like that was it. Why even do it? So that that's kind of where we're at here. And blindly seems to be hashtag all in with Sonia DeVille. And he, but he uttered the phrase you should never say with regards to a talent, because you just fucked them.

Anytime you go into history of wrestling history of wrestling to me, and I'm not just trying to say a bunch of times in a sentence, but hw history is sort of like a soap opera. You could watch it every day. And then not see it for like five years. Turn back. And the storyline has gone so slow and so samey, same characters back and forth, that you didn't miss anything. That's kind of how I feel a little bit with history. Because really, the only things that have been bumped is a poi is doing a menial watch along with son. I think he started he was going from the from the beginning. And I think he just did 18 or 1919. I think he's on less he's already finished it. But uh, yeah, he's given thoughts on I don't know, if he's planning on just going through to the end. But yeah, so that's a big, that's a big draw to history. And then the rethread, which is basically just a catch all general discussion type of thing. But with the, you know, kind of implied match reviews. So that's happening. And I think that's pretty much history. You got, you got one or two threads that keep getting bumped, for reasons, those reasons being post and then maybe one or two other threads, but it's mostly just the two. And I think the unfortunate thing I have to say is when the top 100 movie countdown was kind of wrapping up, there was talk about the doing a countdown of the best Smackdown matches of all time. And discussion kinda was dying down. And I was thinking, Okay, all once top 100 goes out the way then, you know, we'll do it. But I never did any research. I didn't really have anything prepared. I would have turned something in if if there's like a deadline or something like okay, we're going to start this I would just, you know, go on Google and do a quick one. Because I'm mostly interested in just seeing, reliving some of the moments that you guys would vote for and that almost want to live vicariously through the countdown is what I'm saying. I don't know Final Fantasy fanfic. We had a surprise return. We're gonna report on or whether it's a timely or not. FFC W. return with a one shot. Oh, VA Christmas special holiday sensation where it's you know, FFC W is just the Fed that keeps on keeping on even when it looks like it's over. This definitely is AM's you know, calling card. It's one of those things where like, it's radio heads Creek. I think he won, or I don't even know if Creek because that they hated that song. Maybe Smells Like Teen Spirit to Nirvana. And Kurt Cobain. Not Kurt Angle. Yeah, he was proud. I'm sure he was really sick of that song or really any, any artist that has their, you know, their hit. The reason half the crowd is even there. And they kind of want to branch away from it. But then whatever side project they do, it's never as over as freebirds. So I think that's what we have here with FF CW. It's like, I mean, you can do your other projects, but you know why we're really here. And then the usual other stuff. I think our team is still having a Fed and since there's no draft in fanfics Surprisingly, the low activity definitely is jarring. Although there's really, there's really only ever three or four active things in fanfic in certain time. So this isn't the worst thing in the world. But I guess hats off to Jake for doing his thing. But biggest thing we learned or I learned that a poi wrestling fan was able to not only get a date, but he got married and he convinced the person he married to get into wrestling. She may not be going to the star ratings unless it's over. You know, booty pics or something. But uh, you know, she's probably there's casual. There's that first level of smart mark. So she's probably somewhere in the middle. She enjoys it if it's on but if but if she misses a show, who cares, right? But if you do care about you know, I don't know food. Now it looks almost like a game. Sort of like the predictions league where triangle match Triple Threat three on three versus three, three, you know what I mean? It's a three person thing. And so basically what you do is that you pick a year, and you draft categories, like comedy, horror, this thing, animation, and then you meet for the draft. And I think there's I think there's like, not really a round robin but like, there's a score thing. So whoever wins the first match, I guess, gets a point or something. I'll be honest, I'm not really. I haven't really been paying attention to the movie draft. Because after 100 that was kind of like endgame. For me. I was just like, okay, because I didn't think anything was gonna happen right away. So when they started doing 1992 movie draft, I honestly thought that we I don't have no idea what I'm talking not. I thought it was a countdown. So like, people are gonna watch your best movie from 1927. As I there's not enough movies, but

Big Pete has a I guess taken the Emperor route and he's playing Final Fantasy 11 x one I don't know if that's like the prequel to x two which was the Spice Girls version of Final Fantasy 10 Yuna got a dress and then cut the leg because gotta show skin. But yeah, so he's playing through it doing a write up I think he's I think he's just writing us all the I don't know if it's just general thoughts or if he's given us the lore, his motivations, just everything, basically a graphic novel graphic novel without the graphics. Um, cyberpunk is still being updated. I don't know if you heard about that. buggy garbage mass refunds it's just probably put the company that released it out of business. People are still updating people are still you know, talking about a playing, it seems functional on the new gens, but uh, you better off with a piece of paper and cardboard than playing it on ps4 and the x bone apparently when I stocked up on gummies Saturday, I drove past the GameStop which surprised there and still business and they had a big cyberpunk poster on the wall. And I was just like, hit Yeah, I think this was awful to be honest. I did have some gummies earlier so I don't know how this is gonna turn out. But this is a little experiment to do the weekend. I guess looking at the time it might be a little longer because I'm discussing a whole week but mostly I think this could have worked as a daily one but uh, yeah, pw news is back, perhaps on a weekly basis, so don't expect anything tomorrow but uh, get to it posting, quoting. I experience excruciating almost physical pain when I am bored.... I hate it more than words can express, I only talk to people I don't find boring.

My life was improved greatly when I discovered Audible and Youtube let you adjust the play back speed, I find 1.5x quite comfortable.
If you can record, you can do the same with VLC playing it back.

Looking at the transcript. Ugh that was probably a 5 minute episode but dude can't get get to the point.
