Is there reasoning behind why WWE never called him for like ANYTHING after he left? I know his career barely lasted a hiccup in the E and more people probably know him as the ref to the submission match over his actual run. Like did he just bounce and WWE was NOT having it? Did he do something to result in the release? Because man, it feels like anyone who so much as became a main roster star has been brought back 10x by now. Yet not a peep (to my knowledge)?
Does anyone know the story? Has Shamrock just moved on and denies them? Does WWE think he's that small a star that no one will care? Did he pull a Macho Stephanie?

@ness raises a good point that I had never thought of before. WWE has shown they will bring back anybody for any reason. I recently found out The Headbangers of all people returned a few years back. Why did nobody tell me about this?
Could be wrong since it was over 20 years ago, but I remember Shamrock leaving on good terms. He put in his notice and left the right way because he was tired of the travel and wanted to go back to MMA.
It is weird that he hasn't even made a cameo since leaving the company in 1999. No idea why.

And he’s obviously happy to take part in wrestling stuff given he’s had two runs in TNA, including last year. So it’s not like he wants nothing to do with wrestling.

Dave Meltzer everyone,
According to Dave, it's because Ken found out WWE owed him money.
After her then-husband departed the promotion, Shamrock's ex-wife called for an audit into company accounts to find out if the family were due some bonus cash. As it turned out, they were, and Vince McMahon wasn't happy about forking over unpaid merchandise royalties to Ken when he was no longer part of the roster.
Ken's new book, 'Shamrock: The World’s Most Dangerous Man', reportedly goes into greater detail on this, and leaves no stone unturned. It is worth mentioning that Shamrock is also honest about enjoying a party lifestyle during his WWE days.
This is something announcing great Jim Ross spoke about in his own book recently; JR said that Shamrock missed a few house shows and that caused problems when it came to talking money. WWE weren't entirely sure that Ken was taking things seriously enough.

JR also talks about that Shamrock still had the MMA in his system and was offered a lot of money to go back to MMA fighting in Japan. He also said that they couldn't bankroll him while he was training for his fights.
