PW NEWS SEASON 2 WEEKLY EDITION Issue #06
Rumble Pool... working agreements... perpetual Charlotte... Sports Empire changing forums... and hey VG Monthly Civil War brewing. It's the week in review here on PW. As was anyone freaked out about those alien muppets? They always came off extra creepy. I know 🤯 is since apparently he was afraid of everything as a kid, even things that were never intended to be like those flying monkeys.

WWE's C-shows like Main Event were largely a waste of time. The company is already way too content heavy, few people are going to seek out these shows to watch the jobbers wrestle. However there was occasionally an intriguing match, when they'd bring in a top talent to face one of these jobbers. I found this intriguing. Remember the main event of one show being Randy Orton, who may have been World Champion at the time, against Primo.
AEW Dark could try the same thing: put Kenny or Moxley or MJF in the main event. Problem is, with modern wrestling they'd just work a normal "good match" with lots of nearfalls where the jobber looks competitive. In other words similar to any random match on Dynamite.
You're not reading the Yearly Draft scores right. The (3) (4) numbers are the number of drafts the poster has participated in. The actual score is the other number.

I do like that everyone has pointed out to me how there aren't any "levels" in wrestling anymore. Guys that should be jobbers are not jokes and partially take main eventers to the limit. Never really thought of it till now. I guess I get it, people wanna be entertained and they feel people are gonna get bored with that. Or maybe the workers WANT that to happen. They're boys so they let them get shit in even when the story would dictate they squash em.

The only real squash of any note I've seen in recent memory is Kenny Omega vs Sonny Kiss from the #1 Contender's Tournament. Very effective.

Bit late to this, this week, been busy ! It's thechoke's birthday today. He's gone radio silent since we stopped doing Prem Predictions but I see him online from time to time. Hope you had a good day bud! Emperor already brought up Dark, and that's really filled the role of the WWE B-shows in my weekly viewing. You can draw some pretty nice parallels from the current AEW women's division to the Divas that used to have great matches on Superstars & Main Event back in the late 00s/early 10s. Tay Conti is Melina - the latina busting out a bunch of awesome innovative offence, Red Velvet is Alicia Fox - lanky and athletic. I'm glad to hear it seems like pduh's mum is in the clear now. Two years of his podcast is a very impressive effort - it is surely the longest running PW project of all time? Random draft is a real blight on the forum. A poor effort all round. I'm the greatest person alive!

Good thing HR bumped this. Otherwise I would have missed the news this week and dropped the ratings to 1.0. Forgot about the Geeks, Dweebs, and Dorks thread too. I'll chime in tonight or tomorrow depending on how awake I am after this post. Glad pduh's mom is doing better. I had no idea the week begins on Mondays in other places. That is weird and bad and I do not approve. Start the week on Sunday or gtfo. Another cool thing about February having 28 days is February days align with March days. For example, if February 3rd falls on a Sunday, March 3rd will also fall on a Sunday. Unless it's a Leap Year. Leap Year sucks for messing up that sweet, sweet February/March symmetry, but I always thought it would be cool to be born on Leap Day. Why couldn't I have been born 6 days later!!! And...uhh...on a different year. I was an avid WWF Shotgun/Jakked viewer in 98-99. It would be a stretch to call it the "wrestling show." This was still Attitude Era WWF. But it was a little more wrestling centric than Raw. That's where the vaunted 2000 WWF tag team division really got their start. And of course Superstars was must see tv during Raw's early years due to tradition and lack of cable. Same goes for Worldwide over in the magical land of WCW. Struggling with the tv list. Not sure I'll end up submitting one. But Seinfeld is a lock at #3 if I do. The whole 'new teams in the Super Bowl' thing is why I was rooting for Ohio's Browns and/or the Bills to make it this year. Those teams had been bottom of the barrel for decades. Good show as usual. I have nothing else to add.
