Bizarro 2017 continues. The other three teams in the NFC East have started 34 difference quarterbacks since Eli Manning's first snap as a NY Giant, but this week that streak comes to an end. Two of those teams, the Cowboys and Redskins get things started tonight attempting to keep their remote playoff chances alive.
While the steadiest player of the last decade bows out (for now) the NFL's biggest enigma of recent years returns to play his first game since 2014 - can Josh Gordon be the spark that the Browns need to avoid a winless season?
Aside from individual stories, the marquee matchups this week are the three separate slates of NFC powerhouses. Early we have the Vikings and lead by Offensive Player of the Month Case Keenum(!) travelling to the slowly peaking Falcons, late we have the South showdown between the 8-3 Saints and Panthers, and at night we have the juggernaut Eagles facing their strongest test for over a month at the Clinc against the 12th man and the Seahawks. Looks like a good weekend of football!

Yeah, I'm pumped about this weekend of football. Between the NFL and college football. So many great games.
I got the Cowboys winning this game tonight. It should be a good game. I'm also picking the Browns for the upset of the week. Flash Gordon is going to struggle in the first half, then go into the halftime saying "fuck the sober life!" and smoke a joint, have a few shots of that dirty water and light the Chargers up in the 2nd half for 150 and a pair of TDs.
Let's get it.

I've really lost faith in the Cowboys and don't really see how they can break out of their offensive slump until Elliott returns. The Chargers game was my put up or shut up moment with them and they completely failed. The chemistry issues between Dak and Dez and Cole Beasley won't just magically fix themselves, and their offensive line is beat up. On defence, the stats couldn't be more glaring about how much they fall off without Sean Lee.
I've got a lot more confidence in Washington, because although they're not a fantastic team, they're a lot more solid all around and rather consistent. Zeke was the difference between the two teams in the first matchup, and since then the Skins have a nice win over Seattle and played both the Vikings and Saints tough.

Receivers letting Cousins down early, two dropped passes that would have been first downs, including that tip by Crowder that lead to an interception.
Cowboys showing no real signs of offensive improvement on their first two drives, struggling to pass protect.

Cowboys finally get something going when Zac Brown left the field with an injury. First TD for Dak in a while.
Kirk needs someone to stand up and make a play for him, he's been let down all season by his receivers and it's continuing tonight. I'm still not convinced by Josh Doctson.

The Redskins have had a tough season with these injuries. Moses was their lone survivor from that O-Line.

Three turnovers in 20 minutes of play, Washington are shooting themselves in the foot big time.
DeMarcus Lawrence is having the definition of a contract season.

Brilliant drive by Cousins to keep his team alive, a clutch third down run, and then the backpedalling throw to Crowder for the big play.

That TD drive made this a game. Cousins has certainly earned himself many peoples respect this season and a monster contract. He's done so much with so little.

Great TD catch right there by Dez. He's officially the lone man in TDs in the lone star (murrrrr!).
24-7 Dallas and they should remain alive after this game.

Been some doubts as to whether Dez is still a true #1 and the Skins claimed they were comfortable covering him one-on-one, but he beat Breeland all ends up there for the TD. Not impossible, but hard to see Washington coming back from here given how they've played so far.

Cousins has certainly earned himself many peoples respect this season and a monster contract. He's done so much with so little. Washington have completely killed themselves by not being able to evaluate talent properly. Their inability to identify that Cousins was definitely an above-average starter will either cost them salary cap wise if they do manage to resign him, or a quality quarterback if he leaves through free agency. This season has been undone by the issues with their receivers. They let two 1000 yard veterans that had great chemistry with their QB and balanced each other nicely leave which no team had ever allowed to happened before, and the guy they chose to bring in to replace them turned out to be a complete bust.

Sources are saying that today will be Ben McAdoos final day coaching the Giants. Apparently he may be getting fired tomorrow. Thoughts?
I know I'm happy. Looks like the Eli Manning debacle was the final straw.

I'm on the fence with Texans coach Bill O'Brien, I'm right there to the point where I think it's time to move on but at the same time I look at what is out there and I think it maybe isn't the best move, we could end up with some fucking goofball cuckold like Ben Macadoo, I'd rather just keep what we got.

Another tough game coming up for the Vikings. So far they've turned up against the Rams and the Lions, but with all due respect to those teams, the Falcons are a Super Bowl calibre team and honestly if it wasn't for the impossible we would be referring to them as Super Bowl champions. They've won 3 in a row, with this essentially being a make or break game for them at home.
To me it's a recipe for a reality cheque, but so far the Vikings form has been able to carry them. They played their game all season against the Rams and blew a very disappointing Detroit off the park in the opening stages. Can they keep the streak alive and put a dent in the Falcons run for redemption? I'm sure Carolina and New Orleans fans have got their fingers crossed that the Vikings can put the Falcons away.

It's insane to see how fast time flies. I remember a Sunday morning when I woke up to my mother saying that my friend Dave was on the phone. Remember, this is before cell phones or atleast before kids were given cell phones. So I was handed the cordless phone and my friend said, "Hey I got an extra ticket to the Giants game. You want to come with me, John and my dad?" I said, "yeah, no problem." I had to be ready within the hour. I got in the shower and threw on my Jeremy Shockey jersey. I was going to my first ever Giants game.
We get there and the thing I'm most excited about is being able to watch Michael Vick in action. Obviously, he was the coolest player in the world at this time. We were also going to get the first start for the "future" of the Giants. This dweeby first rounder named Eli Manning AKA Peyton's Lil Brother.
So we went to see him and we watched him struggle. Like a typical NY crowd when someone doesn't meet your expectations, we started to boo him. We started to chant that "WE WANT WARNER!" We wanted them to put Kurt Warner back in and we were not in the mood for this BS.
The Falcons won the game and we were over Eli before he started. The coolest thing for me was telling everyone that I got to watch Michael Vick in action. That was the coolest thing to me.
Fast forward to 2017 and Eli Manning has won 2 Super Bowls for NY and he is about to miss his first game. He hasn't stopped playing and leading that Giants team since that day. It's unbelievable. It's unbelievably unbelievable that I get to say that the coolest part NOW about that Eli vs Vick matchup was that I got to watch a NY legend make his first career start. Thank you Eli. I appreciate you.

In other news, Frank Gore is 49 yards away from jumping to #5 on the all time rushing list. Talk about quietly climbing to the top.
He doesn't look like the same runner he once was, but if he has a good final 5 games, he may even jump to 4. Wild.

Frank's definitely had the quiet career. The only time he really had attention, was when the 49ers were a winning team under Harbough.

It's impossible for me to give up hope on the Texans, there season is actually still not dead yet, they can even afford to lose to Pittsburgh and still make the playoffs if a few teams collapse down the stretch. I got to keep the faith alive, even if our offensive line is absolute trash. It's amazing we spent a 2nd round draft pick on Xavier Sua Filo, taking him over Derek Carr no less, I just can't get over that. Not only is the guy not good he's actually one of the worst o-linemen I can remember ever playing for this team.
I want TJ Yates though, he's nowhere near the turnover machine that Tom Savage is, if Bill O'Brien keeps Savage in after he keeps playing like garbage when we still have a snowballs chance in hell to salvage this season I want him gone. Starting to get Dennis Green vibes from O'Brien, he's not going to win a Super Bowl he's going to ride a talented team to wild card playoff wins, he's terrible at personnel management, I'm just starting to think he's not a head coach he's an offensive coordinator. Also Vrabel seems to be in over his head as a DC, he's been out-coached in just about every game, great positional coach though. I want to see this team finish strong, beat these sorry motherfucker sell out Titans today and I'll be happy.
Clowney and Hopkins have been the highlight of the season(besides The One, obviously), both guys are so much fun to watch, two of the best in the game. I wonder if Cushing is going to play today?

Woah the Chiefs offense the first series against the Jets was like nothing they’ve done in November. Five plays, 75 yards, and only one Kareem Rush stuff to remind us how bad it probably still is.

Haven’t seen enough of your defense to see but if they’re playing man like it looked on first drive, than they made a pretty big strategic mistake. Another nice throw to Kelce puts it to 14-0
