I haven't seen anything posted here but all signs seem to be pointing to a Broken Hardy return at last.
Obviously we saw the start of that on RAW...
Now word is getting out that Impact is going to allow their wrestlers to keep their IP when they leave the company, including past wrestlers.
Vanguard 1's twitter account was even revived.

How does everyone feel about this?
I can't decide if WWE will do a better job or a worse job with this.  Hoping for the best of course.

Broken Matt was kind of cool when it started, but got old fast. I did enjoy Itchweed.

It's crap on a cracker. No version of Matt Hardy has ever been entertaining to me. But, the "broken" character is the worst. What is that accent supposed to be anyway? It just sounds idiotic.

As we have seen on WWE TV in recent weeks, Matt Hardy has been teasing the debut of the “Broken” Matt Hardy character, and the teases ramped up this week when he had a “Breakdown” after his Raw loss to Bray Wyatt.

As we have been noting, Matt Hardy has not been using the word “broken” in reference to his character’s “condition”, but rather he has been using the word “woken”.

According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard, WWE is indeed creating a retooled version of the “broken” character for Hardy to use in WWE. He will not actually be referred to as “broken”, however.

It appears as if Matt Hardy will indeed be able to use the version of the character with no contention from Anthem Sports and Entertainment, as Anthem’s Ed Nordholm issued the following statement to SI regarding Hardy’s use of the gimmick in WWE:

“We have seen the character development and will be interested to see where they take the concept. Our new talent agreements all incorporate language that allow talent to continue to use their IMPACT persona after they leave the company. We are working with our legal team to amend our existing agreements to extend this to all of our current and former talent.”

As we previously reported, Hardy has filed to trademark the “Broken Matt Hardy” name, but must wait until late December for anyone to oppose the trademark. Given the above statement from Nordholm, however, it appears likely Hardy will retain all rights to the name.

Another Famous Member of the “Broken” Universe Joining Matt Hardy?

As we noted yesterday, WWE is currently working on a retooled version of the “Broken” character for Matt Hardy to use in WWE. The character will play off Hardy’s Impact Wrestling character but is likely to be referred to as “woken” as opposed to “broken”.

We also noted that Senor Benjamin, Reby Hardy’s father, reacted to Hardy’s new “condition”, and it now appears as if Hardy’s famous drone Vanguard1 has been “woken” as well, as seen in the Tweet below.

Matt Hardy did note on social media after his “breakdown” on Raw this week that the “Great War” has begun in WWE, and he needs “loyal soldiers” to join him, leading to speculation that other names from the “broken universe” might be joining Hardy on Raw.

Earlier today we noted that plans for Jeff Hardy upon his return from injury include him joining Matt

It depends on the WWE's approach.

The Broken Matt Hardy gimmick was the highlight of Impact Wrestling 2016, but it wasn't perfect. Whenever Matt or the Hardy Boyz had to do a straight wrestling match, it didn't get over. If the WWE realise that they're better off keeping Matt off live television and having him work as many pre-tapes from his humble abode, the more likely it will be successful.

Mind you, it shouldn't be a big departure for the fanbase or the WWE. The Fashion Police basically stole the same concept and made it work over on SmackDown. If Matt can do the same thing and use guys like Kane, Hawkins, Gallows, Anderson and guys with nothing better to do than the gimmick will be fine.

If they just throw him on television and have him work matches against Kane and have him stand by with Renee Young, he's dead in the water.

Fortunately, the timing is actually pretty good. We're entering Wrestlemania season, so everyone who tuned out after last year's show will pretend like the Hardy Boyz reunion tour was nothing but a blur.

Can't wait for the epic debut of Vanguard1.

Oh, and I think WWE's version of the Brokenverse will be even better. No way they go through all of this red tape just to half arse it.

I have grave fears, that Vince McMahon won't understand the gimmick, and Broken Matt will be little more than one of WWE's freakshow workers, working matches and babbling gibberish at Bray Wyatt at best.

Again, what the hell accent is Hardy trying to do? I don't get it. "Delete"... his video library! And get him on a treadmill and off the McDonalds drive through line. At least for one meal a day.
