With the 1st overall selection in the 2011 NFL Redraft , the Carolina Panthers Select: Cam Newton , QB , Auburn 1x NFL MVP 1x NFL OPOY 3x NFL Pro Bowler 1x First Team All Pro There are better overall players in this draft than Cam Newton who had his ups and downs as a starter in the NFL and ran really hot and cold , but I don't think the Panthers could pass up all the good years Cam gave them including a trip to the Super Bowl considering their state of the roster at this time. They couldn't go into another season starting Clausen and Cam proved to be an instant spark to their offense and at least made them have someone to build around. If I were going strictly BPA there would be a few other guys on the list to pick but balancing the position of the franchise and need at this time with a difference making player and Cam has to remain the choice. @admin and the Denver Broncos are on the clock

How about Blindy & KING KID you alternate with me doing the even picks and we'll let UT do the odd numbers as this is kinda his baby. Even if that title would make CM Punk'd shake his head. With the second pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Denver Broncos select JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin There's really not much to pick between Watt and Miller over their careers, they've got almost identical sack numbers, but I think I just give the edge to Watt because of his 3x DPOY awards and the fact that he was able to be such an effective pass rusher from all the spots on the defensive line. That versatility is so valuable for a defence. I looked at a couple of other redraft who cited how central Miller was to the Broncos win of Super Bowl 50 - but Watt was the best in the league in 2015 with 17.5 sacks. He's still great today, but he was as dominant in that 2012-15 period as Aaron Donald has been in the latter part of the decade, and that stands above all other defenders in the league. The Buffalo Bills are on the clock...

Not my baby by any means , we can just have Blindy pick next and keep that order. I just like bullshitting about football. Kid can too , or can piss off in all football threads. Don’t care either way. Also this thread was my personal tribute to Punkd.

Also @admin , I think I might have stuck with the Miller pick and I thought about it for awhile and it's kind of why I stole the 1st pick so I wouldn't have to pass on Watt. Watt is the better player IMO , actually the best overall player in the draft. I just think knowing in hindsight that the Broncos went on to win the Super Bowl with Miller and an incredibly dominant defense ... spearheaded by Millers flat out speed it would be hard to change anything. Can't really argue against taking Watt though and their defense would have still been great ... just maybe lost some of it's speed that made it stick out.

With the 3rd pick, the Buffalo Bills select DE/OLB Von Miller out of Texas A&M Buffalo gets BPA IMHO and someone who arguably was the Super Bowl MVP for Denver with being an absolute monster of a pass rusher. Getting instant impact by Von Miller also saves Buffalo from making the massive mistake of paying Mario Williams a 6 year 100 million dollar deal in the 2012 offseason that saw him be good but not 100 million dollar good, that money would have gone elsewhere. With Kyle Williams emerging around this time as a main cog inside, Buffalo opts to take the star pass rusher. The guy the Bills ended up taking here in Marcel Dareus lad the team with 5 1/2 sacks(!) but Von Miller's rookie campaign that saw a sexy 11.5 sacks nearly double that! Funny enough I truly see Von Miller signing in Buffalo if cut by the Broncos and if his possible domestic abuse allegation is dropped. Cincinnati Bengals are OTC

With the 4th pick of the 2011 redraft the Cincinnati Bengals select: Julio Jones , WR , Alabama The Bengals selected Green here originally and while he has been a great Bengal for most of his career ... Jones has been just a little bit better and more consistent. It was hard to pass up on a part of All Pro cornerbacks , one especially who would fit in great with Marvin Lewis but Cincy needed weapons in the worst way. The Cardinals and @admin are OTC

With the fifth pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Arizona Cardinals select Tyron Smith, OT, USC
Patrick Peterson has been a great Cardinal throughout the 2010s but I think Smith could have been a more impactful player to their fortunes. The Cardinals offence was a train wreck at this stage, sub-NFL level quarterbacks, bust RB draft picks, and a terrible offensive line. The incumbent LT Levi Brown had given up 19 sacks over the previous two seasons, and the Cardinals scuffed around with this position really until 2017, which included losing Carson Palmer to a ACL tear halfway through his second season in Arizona. Smith has been one of the elite lineman in the league all decade, and although he's slightly struggling towards the end of his career with injuries, still virtually never gives up a sack.
The Atlanta Falcons are on the clock...

Sounds like you like to be the bully but don’t like it when someone defends themselves. No you fucking twit , I generally try to ignore you. I don’t follow you thread to fucking thread needling you with the same played out joke to invoke a response. You’ve become a garden variety troll ... I’ll talk shit with anyone and everyone. As for the NFL , you’re the fucking worst type of football fan. Your the football fan equivalent of a prison bitch... suck any dick or ride any dick that’ll keep you safe for a year and then talk shit behind that shield. Then when that team isn’t front running you put on a new shade of lipstick and open wide for the next juggernaut. It’s pathetic. Legit I would and have had smack talk about football with any and everyone on this board who watched football. They are actual fans though and it’s fun. You and your ilk are the scum of the NFL fan nation. Not even that you don’t have an actual team but jump from team to team and have the nerve to talk smack. It’s a bitch move from a bitch fan. I never agree with most of what Blindy says , but at least he has the balls to stick with his team through recent futility. He is at least respectable.

With the 6th pick, the Atlanta Falcons select CB Patrick Peterson Thomas Dimitroff gave up the 27th overall pick this year, 2012 1st, 2nd and 4th rounders in 2011 & 2012 so they better get themselves a superstar player and while Julio Jones isn't there, Patrick Peterson is. The offense at this point and time even taking away Jones is clicking with Matt Ryan on the cusp of being a top 10 QB if not already. What was in need however was a premier cornerback and a star on defense. Patrick Peterson still to this day is a solid CB even if he's fallen off a smudge. Still to this day, the Atlanta secondary is consistently a weak point and yeah no Julio Jones but I kind of wonder had they had PP covering Edelman if the Falcons could have won that SB a few seasons ago. Edelman torched them especially late, Peterson would have borderline wiped him off the face of the earth. Maybe Brady eventually has his way but Edelman would have been completely worked by PP all game long. Their next 1st rounder which was in 2013 ended up being Desmond Trufant, a solid corner but nothing like Peterson, saves them the CB necessity pick too. San Francisco 49ers OTC

Peterson over Sherman is interesting. I would have went with CB too , Atlanta got torched by Green Bay in the title game that year and couldn’t cover anyone. They needed secondary help. With the 7th pick in the 2011 NFL redraft the 49ers select: Richard Sherman , CB , Stanford San Fran originally took a speed rusher here with Smith and they did need one but I don’t think I can justify taking any over Sherman who was arguably the best corner in the NFL for a stretch and was still going strong before injuries hobbled him this year. Getting a legit shut down corner while robbing Seattle of their trademark player (aside from Wilson) is a win/win. The Tennessee Titans and @admin are OTC.

I think Peterson is the better talent(Maybe not the better corner but better athlete), Sherman in the right scheme is fantastic too but I think PP was the better athlete and he also brought punt return capabilities as well. Sherman had himself a great couple seasons in SF but he had by far more talent around him in Legion of Boom vs PP only having Mathieu basically in Arizona.

Sherman never really fluctuated though , even when the LOB lost something Sherman was still Sherman and his initial run in SF proved it wasn’t just scheme.
I know PP had some health issues that affected his play and when he was good he was elite .... but he was also incredibly inconsistent.
To each their own I just think Sherman was a considerably better player.

With the eighth pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Tennessee Titans select Justin Houston, DE, Georgia
The Titans made a pretty horrible decision to let Jason Babin out of the building after the 2010 season where he recorded 12.5 sacks, he signed with the Eagles and put up 18 next year. Tennessee were banking on 2010 first rounder Derrick Morgan filling that role and while he eventually got over his early injury issues to forge a respectable career, Houston would have been a huge upgrade given that he had five seasons with more sacks than Morgan's best ever effort. The Titans ranked 31st in the league in 2011 with just 28 sacks so a genuine pass rusher was clearly high on their list of needs.
The Dallas Cowboys are on the clock...

With the 9th pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft, the Dallas Cowboys select CB Chris Harris Jr out of Kansas BOOM! An UDFA gets the 9th spot! Why? They took Dez Bryant 1st round 2010 NFL Draft so AJ Green isn't an option and they still have a very steady front 7 on defense but it was the secondary that arguably became the Achilles heel for this team. With Mike Jenkins becoming a disaster that didn't even make it through his rookie deal due to being so bad and Terrance Newman having a disaster of a 2011 campaign that saw him ultimately get cut to save money the season after, Dallas is getting themselves someone who stepped in right away and signified stability for a secondary and was the 2nd fiddle to Von Miller in that incredible Denver defense stepping up to winning a super bowl. Surpassed the likes of Champ Bailey, DRC and Talib to be the No.1 CB for Denver. Dallas gets someone who still to this day when healthy is still adequate and this was after 4 pro bowls, an 1st team all pro and 2 2nd team all pros throughout his Denver career. Would have been a massive home run hit with Tyron Smith gone and they could go with an OT or OLine help given they had to take Morris Claiborne in the 2013 NFL Draft because the cornerback play was just woeful in a team that had super bowl aspirations. Only reason he doesn't go higher here is his health has been up and down throughout his career but this was a great cornerback crew so 3 going top 10 is pretty cool. Jacksonville is All Elite and they are OTC. UT

Well Jacksonville had terrible receivers at this time , only makes sense to grab one now and hope they can find a quarterback to go with him later. I mean Mike Thomas led them with under 500 yards. With the 10th pick in the 2011 Redraft , the Jacksonville Jaguars select: AJ Green , WR , Georgia Again despite recent injuries , AJ Green has been one of the best receivers in the NFL over his time in the NFL. The Jaguars would need to hope to find a QB to take advantage of him but he's definitely start and a star in Florida for the next decade to come. The Houston Texans and @admin are OTC

With the 11th pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Houston Texans select Cameron Heyward, DT, Ohio State Houston needed help all over their defence at this stage. With the three elite CBs off the board and JJ Watt well gone, they instead turn to Heyward who has similar size and ability to play inside as well as occupy blockers. Watt has been the best 3-4 DE in the league but Heyward is as good as the next best thing, and his production has just gotten better and better over the years. In Houston he likely wouldn't have got stuck behind as much talent as Pittsburgh had early in his career and his numbers might be even more impressive. The Minnesota Vikings are on the clock Blindy

With the 12th pick, the Minnesota Vikings select QB Andy Dalton out of Texas Christian University Fresh off the heels of Brett Favre retiring, the Vikings had the right idea.............take a QB. They just whiffed and took the wrong one. Instead of taking the very good but not great Red Rifle Andy Dalton who had a Bengals team along with AJ Green, Geno Atkins and a few others in the playoffs albeit never winning, they went with Christian Pon.....Steele, who is best known for dating and marrying current ESPN sideline reporter mainstay Samantha Steele-Ponder because as a Quarterback, he was garbage. I still remember the accuracy love he was getting pre-draft out of Florida St and I think the whole world was shocked when the Vikings reached for him and in turn saw him be a disaster. The team won in spite of him often, with Jared Allen leading a feisty Vikings defensive side. They had Adrian Peterson well in his prime as the workhorse and main stay on offense, and had (when healthy & motivated) Percy Harvin who can break the game open with his shiftiness so the offense needed a jolt and sadly, Christian Steele ended up being a pure disaster and arguably the reason(Forget the Blair Walsh disaster) this team never built anything off of the Favre led Vikings. Dalton was never a top 10 QB and I think there's 1-2 guys that are just better players at their position but like with the Panthers & Cam Newton, when you need a QB..........you take a QB even if Dalton prior till recently was in that 12-16 range of being very good and someone who can take you to the dance even if he can't win it. Shame he may go down as someone who doesn't win a playoff game, often the Bengals thanks to Marvin Lewis or Burfict shot themselves regularly in the foot in January. Can't believe Dalton made 3 pro bowls during the Brady/P Manning led AFC with others like Rivers, Big Ben etc. looming every year. Injury replacement or not, he's had a heck of a career for a 2nd rounder and sad Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert and Christian Steele ended up going before him. Your favorite team UT is up, Detroit football!

Yes he did it! Good stuff Blindy. I liked him for Zona at 5 even so the Vikings get a nice little deal here. Dalton isn't elite and never would be but a decade of consistent and "good" quarterback play shouldn't be overlooked. Well since I just preached on it , it only makes sense. With the 13th pick in the 2011 redraft , the Detroit Lions select: Cameron Jordan , DL , Cal In this scenario where my AMAZING pick of Gronkowski last year didn't happen , the Lions took Suh and now get to pair him on the same line as Jordan is who IMO one of the best do it all defensive linemen in the league over the past decade. Great against the run , excellent pass rusher and even a great leader. Put him next to Suh on that defensive line and Detroit's defense has the building blocks to become dominant. The Saint Louis Rams are OTC with @admin
