With the 14th pick in the 2011 Redraft the St Louis Rams select Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue Rams chose Robert Quinn in this spot and he was great out of the gate but his production definitely tailed off after his first few seasons in the league and he's bounced around a number of teams since. Kerrigan has been much more consistent and reliable playing 140 straight games until first missing one in 2019, and recording nearly 100 sacks. I think he's undoubtedly one of the most underrated players of the era. The Miami Dolphins are on the clock Blindy

And yeah you're right UT perhaps Jordan is better than those other guys, and I did forget that he played in a 3-4 defence for a bit. His stats are pretty similar to Houston's though, and although Heyward doesn't have the sack numbers I think he's the best player right now (and his role isn't really to be a pure pass rusher).

With the 15th pick, the Miami Dolphins select C Jason Kelce out of Cincinnati Dolphins took another center in Mike Pouncey but Kelce has pretty much outperformed him on and off the field and I wanted to post that hilarious costume up above. Kelce still to this day is an anchor of the Eagles OLine and despite one foot in, one foot out the door of retirement, he would still to this day be doing great in Miami had he been chosen here. The Kelce duo has brought loads of fun and loads of quality to the 2010's NFL and I think most are of the belief that for a center to be taken so high, they have to be damn good and I feel the all pros and pro bowls behind Kelce warrant that. Crazy he went to the 6th round. Dolphins took Jared Odrick in round 1 last year so they still have confidence he could find his way as a main piece for that defense. The Washington Reds..........WFT, or are they still Redskins since this is 2011? Either way your up UT

The Redskins were a mess on both sides of the ball at this time. Roy Helu was their running back and Jabar Gaffney their leading receiver. Defense wasn’t much better either ... I think teams in this position should just take BPA and find someone to build around and to me that player is.... Jurrel Casey , DT , USC Casey has spent a ton of his career not getting a ton of pub in Tennessee but he’s yet another linemen from this draft that’s had a great career and someone who can be a leader of a really good defense. Washington’s cupboard was bare at this time and Casey gives them a difference maker in the middle of the defense. The Patriots and @admin are OTC.

With the 17th pick the New England Patriots select Nate Solder, OT, Colorado Solder's reputation has taken a bit of a hit since moving to the Giants but he was very reliable for the Patriots going to four Super Bowls in seven seasons. I thought about changing this to Anthony Castonzo but I don't think he was clearly better to be worth messing up something that obviously worked very well for New England. With the 18th pick, the Super Chargers of San Diego are taking DT Marcell Dareus out of Alabama So ends the fall of what in hindsight has been a rather big letdown given he went 3rd to the Bills in reality. But I think all of the off the field nonsense and how he left Buffalo overshadowed how important he was in both the Jaguars AFC title run as the partner to Calais Campbell upfront and that he was the motor behind that nasty mid 2010's Bills defense that help break the curse under Tyrod Taylor. When he was on and gave a crap, he was a nasty inside lineman, he racked up 10 sacks his rookie year he just let all of the stuff outside the field ruin things. He was out of the NFL in 2020, not sure if it was COVID precaution like Solder but I imagine he may get a 3rd chance somewhere. Maybe. Bolts took Corey Lieget, so the idea was they were routinely gashed on defense up front and the Bolts are upgrading DTs here and for the instant success, despite the headache he was, they get better against the run game with this draft pick. With the 19th pick of the 2011 redraft the Giants select: KJ Wright , LB , Miss. State The Giants still had the line to get pressure but the rest of their defense was lacking ... I would have liked to go secondary but didn’t love any of the picks so I finally give the Giants a linebacker. Kiwanuka had little business playing off the ball and they could have used someone like Wright as a perfect compliment to their defensive line. The Bucs and @admin or OTC

With the 20th pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado The Buccaneers defence was absolutely atrocious this season, last in the league in the majority of categories. The biggest need would have been pass rush which they whiffed on in real life with Adrian Clayborn and De'Quan Bowers - but with most of the premier talent off the board I'm addressing the back end here with Smith who would be able to take over from Aqib Talib as their #1 corner - he missed games in both the next two seasons before being traded to the Patriots. With the 21st pick of the 2011 NFL redraft, the Cleveland Browns select WR Doug Baldwin out of Stanford Another one of these UDFAs who deserved to get picked in pure hindsight, Doug Baldwin for 2 super bowl runs(They should have won both!) was the right hand man to Russell Wilson and became his go to target. He consistently found a way to get open and to make big time plays and the only reason he probably doesn't go higher is because due to injuries had to prematurely retire after the 2018 season. Cleveland took Greg Little who was atrocious in round 2 and they had someone with hands just as bad as him in Massoquai so instead of a QB, the Browns pull a play from the Jaguars and get themselves a no.1 WR to help make that offense somewhat okay. A 2 time pro bowler, and a consistently winning player, Baldwin would not have anywhere near the success in Cleveland than he did in Seattle due to the QB but that 14 TD 2015 season was sensational enough to get him the 21st spot in this redraft. From the moment he came to the NFL until he left after the 2018 season, he would have helped Cleveland massively. Indy Colts OTC UT

Heck of a steal Blindy. Baldwin was such a good player. The Colts select: Anthony Castonzo , OT , Pitt The Colts were going all in to suck for Luck and were planning his protection ahead of time. Castanzo was never flashy or on that elite level but he was solid and consistent for years in Indy and is worth picking again. The Philadelphia Eagles and @admin are OTC

With the 23rd pick the Philadelphia Eagles select Rodney Hudson, C, Florida State With Kelce off the board the Eagles need someone to anchor the middle of their offensive line and Hudson is perfect for that. He's definitely one of the most underrated players in the NFL, a top-5 center season after season who doesn't give up pressures and excels in pass blocking. Danny Watkins retiring from the NFL to become a firefighter became a real punchline (particularly before Howie Roseman had his career renaissance) so to get someone the complete opposite in terms of workrate and reliability would be perfect for the Eagles. With the 24th pick, the New Orleans Saints will select DE Robert Quinn out of North Carolina For a team at this stage well prepared to chase for SB title no.2 under Brees and Payton, their defense needed a jolt in the worst way and with two first round picks here, they opt to take someone who may be BPA on the defensive side. Cameron Jordan would have been a pipe dream here but Quinn isn't too far off when it comes to production, instantly being a key cog in St Louis and once Jeff Fisher took control of the team, Quinn began to rack up double digit sacks from 2012-2014, including a godly 19 sack season in 2013, which is music to Saints fans ears. Quinn's stock has kind of gone off basically bouncing around team to team, being on 4 different organizations in four years but for the instant impact he made as a pass rusher, Quinn is a heck of a pick here for New Orleans. Seattle Seahawks who had an insane draft this year that molded their near dynasty are OTC. UT

This is a tough one considering the Seahawks needs and what’s on the board right now. The Seahawks select , Mike Pouncey , C , Florida Pouncey had a really good career , the Seahawks had Unger in place already but I feel either he or Pouncey could play guard to continue to solidify their line and build around Lunch. Wasn’t in love with most other selections so BPA makes sense. The Chiefs and @admin are OTC

With the 26th pick in the NFL Redraft the Kansas City Chiefs select Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada The Chiefs had plenty of holes to fill here - they could have been boring and selected an edge rusher or a wide receiver, but we're going to go bold and transform the franchise's next few seasons by relieving them of a couple of seasons of Matt Cassel and giving Andy Reid the chance to inherit a playmaking QB rather than game manager Alex Smith (who Kaepernick replaced in real life with the 49ers) in his pre-Mahomes era. Kaepernick's legacy has now become his political activism but he was an absolutely dynamic weapon the first few years in the NFL and I truly believe would still be playing in the league today had he not been marginalised by the bad head coaches he played under after Jim Harbaugh left San Francisco. Andy Reid got the best out of Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick and the aforementioned Smith - this would have been a slam dunk pairing and I'm sure we would have seen a lot more record breaking performances like his iconic 180 yards rushing in the playoffs against the Packers in 2012. With the 27th pick of the 2011 Redraft, the Baltimore Ravens select C/G Stefen Wisniewski out of Penn State What a class this has been for centers/guards. I feel there is a better player around here that could have gone but I feel with Mark Birk nearing the end of his stellar career, Ozzie Newsome gets himself massive insurance with a combo guard who has only put forth 10+ years in the NFL being apart of some winning teams like the Chiefs of 2 years ago and the Eagles a couple years prior. Not a super sexy pick or flashy pick but Wisnewski's versatility would have been a massive coup for the Ravens interior OLine. I know he was recently apart of that ghastly Chiefs OLine that got popped vs Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl but for the most part, you have a stellar lineman who is still finding ways to start for good teams to this day. With the 28th pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft , the New Orleans Saints select: Demarco Murray , RB , Oklahoma The Saints took Ingram here originally and could go that route again as well , but I opted for the more explosive and higher upsided Murray to come in and run in the Saints offense. I think it would have paid more immediate and higher dividends for a team with consistent Super Bowl aspirations. The Chicago Bears and @admin are OTC

On the Kaepernick pick , I was looking at him for awhile too and I'd be curious to see how his career goes if he's on a different trajectory and different team. He certainly went to crazy heights with the 49ers but I don't think they ever figured out how to improve his passing - maybe Reid could have down the line. Probably worth a shot at that point. Blindy don't get many obscure names wrong , but Mark Birk made me chuckle. Wisniewski is a solid choice though. This draft was incredibly deep at the top , but falls off rather quickly around 21-22 and you get to a lot of really good role players or what ifs. Makes the end a little interesting. I'm ready for 2012 , that is going to be another interesting one at the top and is the famous Suck for Luck draft. Though I think it turns into the No Hustle for Russel in hindsight.

Like Kaep going here, thought Tyrod Taylor might have been the 3rd guy chosen but Kaep was a better athlete and had the better arm, like the pairing in KC given Alex Smith eventually joined the Chiefs and would have been the mentor to Kaep either way or someone to start in the interim. Alex Smith seems like a great guy to learn from, think it'd be a good move for Jets to do if Darnold is gone and a rookie QB is taken to have Smith mentor and maybe get the week 1 start.

With the 29th pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Chicago Bears select Marcus Cannon, OT, TCU I would have liked to draft a wide reciever here because apart from Matt Forte, Jay Cutler really didn't have much in the way of weapons, but there really wasn't much WR quality in this draft after the big two. Instead we get a guy in Cannon who might have been the beneficiary of playing under Dante Scarnecchia but has grinded out a pretty decent career on the offensive line. Chicago weren't providing great protection for Cutler, their 2010 playoff run was hampered by the QB suffering a knee injury, and the most reliable starter they had in Olin Kreutz left in free agency. The Bears would have been delighted by drafting Gabe Carimi in real life, before the draft he was seen in the tier with Tyron Smith and Anthony Castonzo but that obviously never panned out. Cannon hasn't been at their level either but amongst injuries and holdouts is still playing for his original team a decade later. The New York Jets are on the clock Blindy

Cobb is a good receiver , even a pro bowler but he was clearly helped playing with Rodgers and on top of that ... he was small and the Bears needed size. I had them taking Julius Thomas , short career sure but the Bears had to have felt they were close losing in the NFC title game and Thomas would have at least provided them a big red zone target and someone in the middle of the field.

Oh yeah I missed Cobb when I was going through the draft list, but you're right, Chicago already had Johnny Knox (nearly a thousand yards in 2010, that took me by surprise!) and Devin Hester so they were really after a #1 type.
Julius Thomas did so little before and after playing with Peyton it's hard to really take him particularly seriously. Has there ever been a player in the NFL who owed their big pay day to someone else more?

Probably not it’s why I wouldn’t have loved the pick , but their TE had 20 catches in 2011... surely Thomas could have done more than that. Otherwise the other best option would have been Torrey Smith , not a terrible career and he had the speed that Martz would have coveted and Cutler had the rocket arm to take advantage of it.

With the 30th pick of 2011 NFL Redraft, the NY Jets select TE Kyle Rudolph out of Notre Dame Yes Mike Tanenbaum took TE Dustin Keller late round 1 just 2 drafts ago but revisionist history leads you to believe that Dustin Keller lacked anything worthwhile as a blocker and lasted until the 2012 season before going to Miami and enduring a nasty injury from DJ Swearinger that essentially ended his career. Rudolph is a complete TE who still to this day was a respected figure for the Vikings up until his recent release. Hitting over 600 yards in 2 years and hitting the pro bowl twice, Rudolph was big time in the running game for Peterson and contributed as a red zone threat, hitting near double digit TDs in 3 seasons. He never was the game breaking TE I thought he'd end up being after seeing most of his snaps at Notre Dame but for a team that has been absolutely starving for a TE for AGES, Rudolph would have been a Jet since being drafted here and would have been a big leader that the organization was starving to have in the 2010 decade. Jets took Mo Wilkerson who is still on the board ultimately but I felt the latter part post 2015 for Wilkerson spoiled how good he was as a Jet and too much off the field stuff left a sour taste in my mouth to lead me to favor Rudolph here and to break the TE drought we saw in this redraft. The Wilkerson from 2013-2015 was a badass, just sucks he completely threw it all away the minute he got his big money deal. Thank you guys for letting me get a couple of picks here! Rudolph is definitely a better call that Thomas. At least he's consistent and a really good blocker as well. With the 31st pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Steelers select: Muhammad Wilkerson , DL , Temple Not a flashy pick but since the Steelers lost out on Heyward here they need to draft someone in that spot. Wilkerson had a few great years as a Jet and when motivated could be an incredibly disruptive player and perfect fit for a 3-4 end and who knows , maybe Pittsburgh and their system could have gotten even more out of him. The Packers are OTC , don't mess it up @admin. There are only 2 viable options.

With the 32nd pick in the 2011 NFL Redraft the Green Bay Packers select Randall Cobb, WR, Kentucky
This marriage worked out nicely it makes a lot of sense to end the first round keeping it alive. Cobb had a lot of highlights in Green Bay and was a really solid #2 to Jordy Nelson (and really stood up when Nelson wasn't available in the 2015 season, and the 2016 playoff game against the Giants were he went off for 116/3), and even as his career winds down somewhat he's still been effective with Dallas and Houston. As we touched on before, this didn't turn out to be a vintage class for receivers so the Packers getting Cobb as the seventh WR off the board turned out to be great value.
Nice job dudes!
