And there is going to be a 5th soon enough , thought about him for this pick. With the 17th pick in the 2012 redraft the Bengals select Melvin Ingram , Edge , South Carolina Could go a few different ways on defense here but replacing Geathers would have been huge for this defense that was on the climb. Ingram has had a really good career in San Diego making multiple Pro Bowls and being a leader of the defense, he would have fit in perfectly opposite Johnson and alongside Atkins. With the 18th pick the San Diego Chargers select Olivier Vernon, EDGE, Miami Edge rusher was a huge need for the Chargers, former first round pick Luis Castillo had basically had his career ended by a broken leg in 2011, and as a result they were left with only one player who tallied more than four sacks. As a team they ranked 23rd in total sacks and 28th in yards allowed per pass so getting pressure was a clear problem. Vernon has never quite cracked super star status but he is comfortably in second place from his draft class in sacks at 63.5, a good season's worth ahead of Ingram, and he's been a better than average run defender too. With the 19th pick, the Chicago Bears select DT Akiem Hicks out of Regina University Hicks was a massive dud as a Saint but it took him joining Chicago to have him figure everything out and he has registered 3 outstanding seasons from 2016-2018 nearing double digit season sacks in two of those and grading out strongly in each. 2020 looks like a bit of a dud and again I get that the Saint days SHOULD be held against him here but I feel like the change of scenery and operating under Vic Fangio really help find his way and he's established himself as a core piece of the Bears defense, being the 2nd most important player after Khalil Mack these days. A late bloomer for sure but I think he's a case of being the right fit. He also has a couple of rushing TDs offensively. Much like with Vernon, not a superstar talent by any stretch but a heck of an inside presence lately. Tennessee Titans OTC UT

Draft talent starting to fall off here I think around this point, very top heavy draft I am finding. Wait until next year when it falls off at like #4. Terrible ass draft. With the 20th pick the Tennessee Titans select: Demario Davis , LB , Arkansas St. Davis had a really solid and respectable career since the beginning but he's really broken out with the Saints as a do it all linebacker and leader in the middle. The Titans offensive needs suffer in this draft like many other teams but they get a MLB for the decade. The New England Patriots are OTC ( @admin)

With the 21st pick the New England Patriots select Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama The Patriots secondary was a real weakness at this time. Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty were still young and finding their feet, Ras-I Dowling was a bit of a whiff with the 33rd pick in 2011. New England were 27th in YPA allowed the previous season. They drafted two pass rushers in real life to address this, but with the best options already taken I'm addressing the back end instead. I think Jenkins and another CB from this class are pretty even over the course of their careers but I think Jackrabbit being a little more consistent and versatile might have suited the Patriot way a little bit more. With the 22nd pick, the Cleveland Browns select WR Alshon Jeffrey out of South Carolina Your going to want to equip your new franchise QB in this draft in Andrew Luck with a go to WR worth a damn and given in reality, the Browns took a chance on talented but very unreliable Josh Gordon and saw Gordon put on an early showing for one of the best WRs in the game before fizzling out with his demons, Jeffrey had himself a monster Sophomore year with Chicago and has found a niche as a good No.2 WR even if he has been marred by injuries. I think in Philly where he ended up going, he got to be the go to target and saw the best CB for plenty of time but if he goes to a team in free agency where the load isn't expected of him, he will still contribute. This draft class has been poor with position players so the Browns would be wise to get their franchise QB a go to WR and one who has put forth a over 1100 2 different times, both with Jay Cutler and Josh McCown throwing the ball so the numbers surely would go up for him as the go to for Andrew Luck. I can't pick a RB here as bad as I wanted to and I know the Browns need one. Detroit LIONS OTC @untouchable UT whatever the heck it is

Next dude slipped my radar because I generally scan for pro bowlers but he’s had a really good career. With the 23rd pick in the 2012 Redreft the Detroit Lions select: Corey Glenn , OT , Georgia The Lions drafted a tackle here anyways with their line getting old and ineffective at multiple spots it was a huge need. Glenn hasn’t made any pro bowls but it a really good tackle that can anchor either sign of a line. The Pittsburgh Steelers and @admin are OTC.

With the 24th pick the Pittsburgh Steelers select Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin DeCastro is off the board but I don't think they lose too much with Zeitler. DeCastro has the Pro Bowls but Zeitler would probably be closer if played for sexier teams than the Bengals and Browns. He has played more snaps and committed less penalties - and grades out only narrowly behind on PFF - over their careers. The Patriots are back up on the clock Blindy

With the 25th pick The NE Patriots select DE/OLB Whitney Mercilus out of Illinois Pats went with CB few picks ago with Jackrabbit but they will look to get some pass pressures here and Mercilus despite no pro bowls, has been a big part and probably got overshadowed by Watt & Clowney in Houston(How do you not make it with 12 sacks in 2015!) and has tallied 54 sacks for the Texans overall and he's been solid at getting pressure. Got 3 sacks back to back postseasons in 2015 and 2016, maybe not a premier pass rusher in the mold that Chandler Jones ended up becoming but still someone who I think could make it work in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense, especially with what Belichick opts to throw out there. He would join Ninkovich in trying to create some pressure up front and may even see better numbers with a stable defensive coordinator in Patricia(Well Belichick mostly). The team that actually chose Mercilus, the Texans OTC UT

With the 26th pick in the 2012 redraft , the Houston Texans select: Damon "Snacks" Harrison , NT , MSFA Shaun Cody was an undersized nose and the Texans were clearly looking for size there with their signing of Wilfork in the coming years. Snacks has long been a big bodied block eater and run stuffer and would only free up a ton for JJ Watt. From Undrafted Rookie to first round pick is a hell of a jump. @admin and the Bengals are OTC

With the 27th pick the Cincinnati Bengals select Josh Norman, CB, The Bengals picked Dre Kirkpatrick in the first round of the real draft and he turned out to be a reliable player for them but didn't make it as a starter until his fourth season. I think Norman would have made some of the Bengals veteran corners expendable earlier as he had some huge highs in Carolina, and has remained a great man coverage corner despite some ups and downs in the back half of his career - he's quite a similar player to William Jackson who the Bengals picked in the first round of 2016, so the style should have made a good fit. Very scared UT is going to kill me here. With the 28th pick the Green Bay Packers select DE Malik Jackson out of Tennessee I almost mocked him to New England prior but he's been apart of the devastating defense, whether it was the Broncos or Sacksonville unit. His Eagles tenure kind of went with a blip with the Week 1 injury last season that carried over into 2020 IIRC but this man got a 84 million dollar deal with Jacksonville and has registered 2 near double digit sack seasons and can roll in a 3-4 or 4-3 defense and is versatile with DE and DT. The Packers went hard on the defensive front this draft taking near Jet Nick Perry in round 1 who has left the game since and Mike Daniels on Day 3 who is now a rotation player for the Bengals. I think Malik Jackson is an upgrade over both and he MIGHT be a product of the talent around him shredding but he didn't deserve to slide as late as he did in the draft. Minnesota Vikings OTC UT

You had to take Alfred Morris there. The Packers “leading” rusher the next season (Alex Green) was one of the worst running backs to ever get a shot and he was the leading rusher. Morris was never elite but he has the vision and ability even in his rookie year to be competent.

Damnit I knew it  I didn't really like any of the RBs in this class TBH. Doug Martin, Lamar Miller, Alfred Morris, I scoured em so hard for the Browns pick. Oooh I get the Bucs for my last turn.

Oh I get it and normally I would agree but with the position the Packers running backs ended up being - even Morris would have been a godsend and massive upgrade. Also fuck it , I’m doing it and breaking all the rules of drafting. With the 29th pick in the 2012 redraft the Minnesota Vikings select: Justin Tucker , K , Texas I know it’s a kicker but I feel there are special circumstances because it’s the Vikings who have probably had the worst kicking luck you could ask for over the past decade plus (and 1998) so why wouldn’t you take the chance to add arguably the greatest kicker of all time to your roster? The draft has really been depleted as far as talent on the board and I think you could argue having a kicker like Tucker would bring far more value to the Vikings than any role player left on the board. @admin and the 49ers are OTC

With the 30th pick the San Francisco 49ers select Marvin Jones, WR, Cal The 49ers needed a second receiver to pair with Michael Crabtree and obviously whiffed terribly on AJ Jenkins trying to find it. Do you guys remember them signing Randy Moss too for this season? I honestly can't remember that at all but apparently it happened! Marvin Jones has never been an incredible player, but he has five seasons with over 750 yards, which is obviously a lot better than Jenkins who only totalled 17 receptions in his career and none with San Francisco. Jones has over 50 touchdowns in his career, and that ability to put the ball in the paint could have helped out as the 49ers pushed for a Super Bowl over the next couple of seasons. So no Tucker for this team With the 31st pick the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select OG Kelechi "Mr Fragile" Osemele out of Iowa State So I got them Luke early on this draft so lets get them a 2x pro bowler and someone WHEN HEALTHY(Which I will go on a mini Jets rant in a short second) is a mauler and was a killer as a Raven and early as a Raider with an all pro nod year 1 there before said injuries caught up to him. Too bad he was such a bitch as a Jet that he quit on the team and claimed malpractice against the team because they went with Alex Lewis to start over Osemele who was either hurt or hiding an injury and was lousy at LG despite the expectations. He went onto the Chiefs and may have revived his career until said injury bug ended him. Either way, makes perfect sense for Tampa Bay to take him because............their 2011 lone pro bowler, Davin Joseph ended up lost in the preseason of 2012 after a leg on leg collision that saw his season and arguably career gone. Osemele would have jumped on in and saved the Bucs from witnessing the woeful Jamon Meredith have to start in relief. Amazing how Doug Martin even did what he did behind the line put forth ahead of him but I feel getting a guard immediately late here is served better than a RB. When healthy he was outstanding.............when healthy. When healthy. GIANTS OTC to end the draft UT

With the 32nd pick in the 2012 redraft the Giants select:
Mike Daniels , DT , Iowa
The rich get richer and the defending Super Bowl champs continue to stock their defensive line with Daniels. A high motor incredibly powerful tackle with the ability to play multiple spots on the line, the prototype defensive linemen for the Giants at this time and would contribute in the rotation day one.
