Two picks in the Top 13.
In Idziks somewhat defense this year , it gets bad. Though there were still obviously quality starters out there.

With the 1st pick of the 2013 NFL Re-Draft the Kansas City Chiefs select TE Travis Kelce out of Cincinnati My theory is if the clock isn't broken, don't fix it. Locker room leader, beloved figure, has been through the bad times of KC to the Alex Smith era to the now flourishing Patrick Maholmes era, Kelce has consistently produced and been a difference maker for one of the best offenses ever. Heck of a blocker too when lined up and not used to destroy down the middle. It's insane a TE goes no.1 here but add the lack of a quality QB and there was only 2 options I could fathom going here at pick 1 and again I know what I get out of Kelce in KC who is still an elite TE to this day. Yeah a round 3 guy going 1st overall in hindsight makes this a robbery of a pick for KC so I know in reality, the Chiefs are glad they got Kelce in round 3 over the 1st overall pick and thus getting a good OT in Fisher with the 1st pick too. But in hindsight, no shot in hell Kelce makes it out of the top couple of picks. If it's same order UT OTC with the Jacksonville Jaguars!

Dee Milliner had health concerns dating back to Alabama though, it's like he said screw the red flags and health screening, lets take a cornerback. How much of that is on Rex Ryan too is also a good question but man. It was Sheldon Richardson and Quincy Enunwa for us in this draft. The guy you trade Revis for and a 6th rounder who was hurt as much as he produced.

Wasn’t expecting Kelce but it makes sense , there were two players on my radar that I thought were the top two in the class but Kelce is entering the conversation. And he’s been too important to the Chiefs as you said.

Throwing a player in a new environment, not always a recipe for success.

With the 2nd pick in the 2013 NFL Redraft , the Jacksonville Jaguars select: David Bahktiari , OT , ColoradoYes there is still a superstar name out the waiting to drop like a bomb but I didn't necessarily want to send him to Jacksonville who needed to shore up so many holes before bringing in a receiver , mainly the ability the protect a quarterback long enough to get him the ball. Bahktiari came into the league as a 4th round rookie , playing like a multiple year pro bowler from the word go and has only got better from there and transformed himself into arguably the leagues best tackle. The Jaguars really could have used that stability from the start and a cornerstone of a maligned offensive line for the last eight years.
@admin and the Dolphins are OTC , with a gift.

God Luke Joeckel was terrible. I remember everyone slammed the Chiefs for passing him up for another OT. Joeckel might have been the worst draft pick in Jaguars history, even over Justin Blackmon. At least Bortles was the QB for the Sacksonville AFC Title run era and was deadly with his feet. Still went over two far superior OT's this draft, just terrible.
Dave Caldwell was so hyped up going into Jacksonville but he will leave them the Trevor Lawrence gift at least. Terrible. 1st pick of his era is Joeckel.

And I don't get why , Joeckel seemed like a lock to at least be a good LT in the league like a Jake Long or something. There was nothing he couldn't do physically. Drafts are hard , I have taken a lighter stance on crushing some of these picks and you can't blame Caldwell for it either ... almost every team in the league would have done the same thing there. Hindsight tells us Caldwell made a terrible pick.
It's the same with the Manning/Leaf draft. People now crush (was it Beathard) for taking Leaf , but 50% of the teams had him ABOVE Manning.
Drafts are hard , hell sometimes these redrafts are hard and we have the benefit of knowing how these careers turn out. Now sometimes GM's just show themselves over the years like Caldwell did but that's after a ton of swings and misses.
The next pick though by the Dolphins though I crushed then and crush now. He always had a high liklihood of busting (IMO) and they fucking traded up for him and passed on Johnson as their biggest position of need.

One nitpick - Kelce did not go through the bad years in KC. He came in with Andy and Alex Smith. The team has not had a losing season since he was drafted, with seven 10 win seasons out of eight.

With the third pick the Miami Dolphins select DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson Miami weren't awful on offense at this stage, they had Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline who combined for 2000 yards in the upcoming season, but Hartline's career wouldn't last much longer because of a knee injury and Wallace was traded to Minnesota, so Hopkins would have been a great addition for Ryan Tannehill who was entering his second season. Jarvis Landry enters the mix a season later and I think they would have made a nice pairing. Nuk obviously proved himself to basically be QB proof in his early years in Houston but given the choice he would obviously have preferred to have built some chemistry with a consistent starter like Tannehill. The Philadelphia Eagles are on the clock Blindy

With the fourth pick of the draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select RT Lane Johnson out of Oklahoma With this draft, I am going to try and follow a simple guideline of "If it worked prior, don't do anything dumb" and this pick came down to two current Eagles but I feel the OLine with Brooks, Kelce, Peters and this guy was the core part of that 2018 Eagles championship and I feel taking even one of those guys out ruins the title run. Lane Johnson is the best RT in the game, which some see as a slight as he never found it at the more valued left tackle spot but PEDs aside, Johnson has been a monster on the right side and was super important for the competitive squads Philly has put out since. Call it conservative or not bold at all but lets keep Lane Johnson here. I expect the other current Eagle to go flying off the boards, maybe funny enough to........ Detroit Lions OTC UT

With the 5th pick in the 2013 redraft , the Detroit Lions select Tyrann Mathieu , DB , LSU Mathieu slid in the 2013 draft mostly due to character concerns over his time at LSU , but time has proven that they were no more than that and he has actually turned into quite the leader in both the locker and community. Combine that with his ability in the secondary to play multiple locations and be a modern day swiss army knife and I think he is worthy of a Top 5 pick in this draft. The Lions needed help everywhere on defense at this time and Mathieu would have changed both their ability on the field and his swagger would have brought a change to the culture there.

Also it was really hard to pass on Nuk for the Jaguars given what he's turned into but I just don't know how well it would have worked or changed anything that happened there. I think he would have fit much better in Miami as well and it seemed more right. Lane Johnson is also probably the right pick. He's meant a ton to that Philly offense since he came into the league. If it ain't broke , don't fix it. Also @admin and the Browns are OTC

With the sixth pick the Cleveland Browns select Keenan Allen, WR, Cal This wasn't a great class for the Browns needs; QB, EDGE and OG (and techically I addressed QB in last year's redraft!) so I'm going with who I think is the best player available. Obviously the Browns thought they were set with their (and potentially the entire league) WR1 of the future in Josh Gordon as he was about to explode with his 1646 yard season - but unfortunately that wouldn't last too much longer. I feel like I call too many NFL players underrated but Keenan Allen is surely one who truly deserves the term - he hardly ever gets mentioned among the elite receivers in the league despite putting up 100/1000 basically four straight seasons now. Allen was the eight WR drafted in 2013, a lot of teams would like the opportunity to redraft him. The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock Blindy

With the 7th pick, the Arizona Cardinals select OG Kyle Long out of Oregon Was down to two guys, one of whom has fallen a little bit IMHO but I know the Cards meant well here, taking Jon Cooper at guard hoping he'd stablize the spot for years and years to come. Right idea, wrong player. Enter Kyle Long who was a mauler in Chicago and was far more than the 3rd best Long of the family. Having most recently come out of retirement, Long will probably have a good market and may further add to his 3x pro bowl resume and finally play for a potential contender to win a title. Arizona needed OLine help in the worst way possible next to a QB and given the QB class was weak, they will opt to get themselves the best guard of the draft class. UT ST LOUIS Rams OTC.

I can’t back that pick , Long started out great but his play really suffered the least few years and caused his retirement. Yes he’s coming back but who knows at what level and at what health. You’re essentially getting 4 years of good guard play and then sketchy play and injuries at #7.
There’s probably two interior linemen I would consider over him at this point.

Yeah I agree with UT - I was looking at Long for the Browns as they needed a guard but I don't think he had a career worthy of the top 10. Arizona really didn't have anything all along their offensive line so Frederick would have been better, or there's a particularly good OT that would have worked well also.

Yeah the OT I considered as well but honestly Frederick was helped immensely by the guys he played with on the Dallas OLine and the fact he had to retire due to health conditions sort of even it and I favored Long. I also didn't want to give the center spot a top 10 nod. What also works here in Arizona's favor is this was right in the beginning of the Arians era where the team became competitive so Long's years would have been a boon in the favor of this team.

Interior linemen play , they didn't just take Cooper because he was a guard - he was considered to be the most "can't miss" or cleanest player in the draft. They needed help all along the interior , I mean Lyle Sendlein was their starting Center going into 2013 so they could have used help anywhere. Frederick yes , and Linsley even who has been as consistent and good since day one. In your and all our defenses going forward though , this draft has fallen off a cliff and even my next pick doesn't totally feel right. With the 8th pick in the 2013 Redraft , the St. Louis Rams select: Leveon Bell , RB , Michigan State I was back and forth between he and another skill position guy for this pick , but following @admin lead and assuming I get to keep DeCastro from last year , I reunite him with the running back who ran through his holes with exceptional patience and was once considered the best all round back in the league. The thing is , the Rams offense was in brutal shape. Jared Cook led them in receiving and Zac Stacy plodded his was to like 900 yards - bring in Bell and not only to you upgrade the running back situation but you also instantly give them the best receiver on their team capable of lining up anywhere on the field and being effective. Plus with Sam "Checkdown" Bradford through passes he might have hit 300 targets but at least they would be going to someone talented enough to do something with it. @admin and the New York Jet's are OTC (please take Dee Millner again)

The Bell I saw with the Jets was kind of lackluster but I think Gase really messed it up there, never saw anything worth the contract he got as a Jet though. He was good in Pittsburgh though. He only had a great couple of seasons though. Great locker room guy though, yes I know he was robbed of his drip by strippers but still

With the ninth pick the New York Jets select Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford Quite amazing that the two or three BPA just happen to be in the couple of spots that the Jets actually had quality options at. So I'm picking Ertz because Dustin Keller had left for Miami in free agency and he was a guy that Sanchez relied on a lot - we have to imagine that Marky Mark doesn't go down in the very first game of the season - and Ertz is probably the #3 receiving TE of the era. NYJ have had terrible options at the position ever since, Chris Herndon's rookie season of 500 yards is as good as it gets. Ertz's numbers may take a hit from the dodgy QB situations the Gang Green have had over the years, but his regular contribution of 75+ catches in a season would have been valuable, and would have trumped the numbers of most Jets receivers. I like the Ertz pick, I took Rudolph last draft though! He would have been a huge weapon on offense, especially out the gates in the Marty Mornhinweg. This is the guy I was kinda hoping the Jets would take 9th considering we moved off Revis this time! You are completely right that we have been so devoid at talent at TE, one of the culprits as to why our offense has been so lacking. With the 10th pick, the Tennessee Titans select CB Darius Slay out of Mississippi State I am kinda shocked he fell this far, he was the current Eagle I was alluded to in my Lane Johnson writeup. A lone bright spot of that Lions defense, Slay got the no.1 assignment every week practically and led INTs one year and made pro bowl 3x and all pro once. I thought he'd be drafted by the Detroit Lions in this redraft but I get it that Mathieu has had a bigger impact wherever he went. I think Slay would still be a Lion had it not been for both Matt Patricia & Quinn completely ruining the Lions from within. For the Titans, Slay would be the no.3 CB off the get go behind Jason McCourty and then high rising Alterraun Verner. Verner however, a season later leaves to go to the Bucs on a now hindsight awful deal where he looked completely overmatched. Slay would slide right in and be the team's go to CB so the transition of cornerbacks would have been seamless. San Diego SUPER CHARGERS CHARGE OTC UT
