The Winter Olympics is less than two months away, and news has just broke that Russia will not be allowed to participate in them.
This is as a result of systemic doping, and a program of sample tampering. Already several athletes were banned for these actions.
However, Russian athletes, who are proven to be clean, and clear of infractions, can be allowed to compete. But only as neutral athletes, NOT as Russian athletes. This also means they can't wear the colors of Russia, nor will the Russian national anthem play for any of those athletes that wins a gold medal. Instead, they will play the Olympic anthem.
Any thoughts on this? Does this mean the Russian hockey teams will have to play as neutral teams?
