Yeah, I'm not sure what Matt Damon is going for here. I didn't grab my coworker's boobs the other day so give me a cookie? And he's incorrect in his statement about conflating unwanted butt patting and rape/child molestation -- they aren't the same but they aren't treated the same. In one instance you're side-eyed and maybe people don't want to work with you anymore. In the other, you're side-eyed and maybe people don't want to work with you AND YOU GO TO FEDERAL PRISON. IN THE OTHER YOU DON'T. I'll be honest -- I'm not quite sure what the takeaway from this article is supposed to be. Yes, accusing men of sexual harassment isn't something to be taken lightly. I sort of figure everyone knows that, especially the women who make these very specific charges and know the consequences are potentially life-altering and are not to be taken lightly. I also figure women are generally smart enough to already realize there's a difference between creepily staring vs. copping a feel, and to date (though I don't keep up to date) I have not heard of any woman making a claim against a man based on gazing at her feminine parts. They already know there's a difference. The women in that article say there's a difference between being raped and being groped. I agree, full stop. But both fall under the category of 'not okay,' but differ significantly in severity. One is hey, that wasn't cool, you shouldn't do that again where the other one is no, seriously, there's something wrong with you.Since it seems so many (Internet) dudes have difficulty figuring out where the line is, I'd offer up the fuck-off rule. Basically, if you're in a situation where she can tell you to fuck off without any negative consequences then go for it. If the two of you are in a situation where she can't tell you to fuck off and walk away, then don't go for it. So random encounter at the supermarket over canned chili? Yeah, that's fine. You're her boss? Not fine. She's your waitress? Not fine. You're at a club? Fine.

And also remember it wasn't too long ago that Brock Turner got a slap on the wrist for straight up RAPING AN UNCONSCIOUS WOMAN BEHIND A DUMPSTER. "He's got a bright future ahead of him, it's not fair for him to suffer real consequences," the judge said. The pendulum is swinging the other way, and while short-term it's confusing we'll figure out where the middle is eventually.

The only solution is to fire all the men in Hollywood. Nah, every industry. Can't be too careful. That's just crazy enough to work. I like it

To be honest when it comes to Weinstein I have a VERY hard time calling many of those women "victims" The ones that allege he raped them sure, but the rest....no. Sure he is 100% sleaze but he didn't force any of those women to do a damn thing. Those women could have turned around and walked away. They CHOSE to lay on that casting couch to advance their careers, and they all got something out of it. That's more in the line of "prostitution" than "sexual harassment" or "sexual assault"

The men will just live on welfare through their taxes. Hilary said it best... the future is female. I'm willing to take one for the team to stop more helpless women from getting metoo'd.

The Matt Damon situation has really gotten out of hand. He makes some comments that rub people the wrong way, and now everyone is like "get him off my screen"? Is that all it takes? Say something controversial or against the status quo through ignorance, not malice, and you become boycotted like the actual sexual offenders?

Get enough people angry and trial by social media wins out. And all this does is diminish and push to the background those who are actually suffering at the hands of predators.

I mean that article is certainly going for something that isn’t really there. 18,000 signatures on an online petition means bupkis.

Now Wrestling Isn't Wrestling creator Max Landis has been accused of sexual assault.
Interesting to note the actress who played Batista Anna Akana was one of the few people speaking out against Landis. Akana is or at least was in a relationship with Landis' best friend so it's interesting to see her sour on him publicly.

Or we could just stop hiring women so we don't get baseless claims of harassment beyond any statute of limitations.

Because the best response to a baseless allegation of harassment is to create a sexual discrimination claim based in fact.

It’s pretty deplorable how much most of these celebrities went on about Trump’s “grab ‘em by the pussy” line when they were silent and protecting all of these people. I don’t believe for a second that Meryl Streep didn’t know either. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are probably guilty AF too, judging by their reactions. Corey Feldman’s story interested me more, wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to find out Hollywood is a pedophile haven as well.
