Back in the day we used to do Video Game Monthly but like print media once the major releases started to slow down so did my enthusiasm for monthly releases. However with the new releases piling up I still wanted to share my thoughts and hear what everyone is interested in and a place to comment on updates. Who knows? VG&T may become SMT in due time.

I just wanted to kick us off with Mario Golf: Super Rush which seems aptly named. The modes are being torn apart for being really shallow, namely the main campaign which is said to be really short with no replayability and bad AI which makes it a chore to sit through. It's been nearly 20 years since the last Mario Golf game, Toadstool Tour for home consoles so a lot of critics are upset with the lack of content. There's just enough there to satisfy the criteria of a major release but for a $60 release it seems like a rip-off. Nintendo plan on releasing DLC which I suspect will add some more courses as well as fix a few issues that have been brought up in reviews. For instance there's been a few holes in one but instead of seeing them they have to wait until the characters reach the green which created this awkward lag.
They enjoyed the actual core gameplay and the speed golf and battle golf modes sounded like fun. However this is one of those games that would be perfect for a rental but not a purchase.
Anyone keeping an eye on Scarlet Nexus? For whatever reason I thought it was a 2022 release, the game looks great. The game looks like Astral Chain x Code Vein which sounds awesome.

Good idea with the thread Big Pete. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was my lone big buy in June, already Platinumed it.
Here's what I preordered thus far:
August: Hades(Waited all this time for it to drop on Gamepass and that it is, free for me to play) Psychonauts 2(Free for Gamepass)
October: Metroid Dread(Got it for 43 bucks via Target B2G1 free but there is a glitch with it that you delete the two other orders and get a once 60+ game discounted to 43 bucks Day 1)
November: Shin Megami Tensei V Collector's Edition(Yeah it's 120 bucks but in addition to the 60 dollar game you get an exclusive slingbag, soundtrack, artbook for 60 bucks more is great) Forza Horizon 5(Free for Gamepass)
December: Advanced Wars Remaster(Same as Metroid Dread, 43 bucks)
January: Elden Ring(Getting it for 50 bucks I want to say via a promotion I paid 2+ years ago, PS4 edition but it will be upgraded on PS5)
Some games I may have to just cave in down the road but I am waiting very hard on glitches and discounted deals. I may have secured the XBOX SERIES X today via Best Buy so I may end up picking it up, it's become almost as hard to find an XSX as it is a PS5 due to the positive E3 conference Microsoft had for themselves. Have to pick and choose what I buy Day one.

I basically covered everything, I planned on buying for the remainder of the year (at least as far as the Switch goes) in the E3 thread, but anyways yeah...
June Releases Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX Mario Golf: Super Rush (the fiancee wants the game) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2
July Releases The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
September Releases Sonic Colors Ultimate
October Releases Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania Metroid Dread Mario Party Superstars
November Releases Pokémon Brilliant Diamond
2022 Releases Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Pokémon Legends: Arceus The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
I honestly have no idea what all is coming out for the PS4, however, I'm sure there'll be a game or two on the system that catches my interest as well.

July Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - I've been looking to return to this game for about five years but my special edition Wiimote stopped working and I'm just never in the right mood to pick up a new remote of Wii+ motion sensor. This is a good excuse to dive back in and see how the game holds up. It seems like the fanbase has turned on it and I do remember a couple of pacing issues but on the whole I preferred it over Twilight Princess. Hopefully unlike the Wii U remakes I actually bother to play it.
September Tales of Arise - The recent Berseria playthrough has rekindled my love for the series and I'm keen to see what they do with the series after a five year absence. They used to pump these games out at a ridiculous rate and the results were often low budget releases. This isn't going to take Ratchet and Clank's mantle as the best looking game but it will be more in line with Dragon Quest XI which looked great.
November Shin Megami Tensei V - I want in on the action and I'm going to need Blindy's guidance. This was the stand-out of E3 that took a game I was on the fence on and immediately sold me on it. A big budget home console SMT game? Sign me up.
January Elden Ring - I really enjoyed Sekiro and Bloodborne. I still have the Dark Souls Trilogy sitting on my shelf staring me in the face and FromSoftware have my complete trust at this point.
Of course games like Dread, Pokemon Shiny Pearl etc. appeal to me but these are the Day 1 no question pick-ups.

Big Pete Dark Souls is a breeze compared to Sekiro & I can’t get past the first section of Bloodborne so no comment there 😂. Hoping they ditch the motion controls in the switch version, I owned skyward sword but was the only Wii game I had major motion control issues with..probably wear & tear with my Wii.

I think the only things I am looking forward to are Tales of Arise, House of Ashes, and Back for Blood Big Pete Dark Souls is a breeze compared to Sekiro & I can’t get past the first section of Bloodborne so no comment there 😂. Hoping they ditch the motion controls in the switch version, I owned skyward sword but was the only Wii game I had major motion control issues with..probably wear & tear with my Wii. I been thinking about giving another Dark Souls a chance beat both Demon's Souls and Bloodborne. I got almost no where in dark souls because I think I was hoping for a demon's souls two and didn't really give it a chance. Also thought about doing another run on Bloodbourne. I also have another friend who beat all the dark soul games but Bloodboune gave him issues mainly Vicar Amelia broke him.

Dark Souls 2 was my first real start to finish experience with the series but Dark Souls 1 was my first taste. Bloodborne was the most difficult of the games for me but I ended up finishing everything, including the chalice dungeons and then got the plat like 2 years later for it.
Bloodborne(DLC/Orphan of Kos fight tips it for me) Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Dark Souls 3 Dark Souls 2 Dark Souls 1 Demons Souls
From hardest to easiest. I did not play Dark Souls 2 expansion though including the DLC which I heard are brutal which may jump it up higher for me. One day I will go back to it.

Every time I click this thread I think it’s the WWE section.
Demon’s Souls easiest? I have the remake but barely played it, need to jump back in.
