It was reported earlier by Variety that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on December 13th.

The ceremony will honor The Rock for his status as a Hollywood powerhouse (and of course the most electrifying man in ALL of entertainment). The producer of Walk of Fame Ceremonies Ana Martinez said:

“Not only does Dwayne have a great personality and talent, but he also does a great amount of philanthropic work which is part of the criteria for earning an immortal spot on the Walk of Fame,” producer of Walk of Fame ceremonies Ana Martinez said. “We envision scores of photos being taken at his star by his fans.”

Of course, The Rock will be seen soon in the anticipated remake of “Jumanji”, and will star alongside Kevin Hart (as usual) and Jack Black. Jumanji hits theaters on December 20th.

The ceremony will begin at 11:30 p.m. PT at 6801 Hollywood Blvd., in front of Hollywood and Highland.

Not that I'm a Cena fan, but I think Cena should have gotten a star first. I hear more about his humanitarian work than I do Rocky.

I'm surprised Rock didn't already have a star. Would've assumed he'd earned one a long time ago.

Cena hasn't done poop yet Hollywood-wise to earn a star, much less before Rock.

The article states a big part of this is because of Rocks philanthropy....which I've really never heard of

Meanwhile Cena has granted how many wishes for Make A Wish? I think Cena has earned one for his charity work alone.

Rock's movie career is nothing special.

I wonder if that's a new qualifier? I can't imagine a lot of the classic Hollywood actors or the 80s icons earning stars for their philanthropy. But then again, what do I know? Generally nothing.

Just because it's not shoved down your throat in endless WWE video packages doesn't mean he doesn't do it.

The Rock is one of the biggest movie stars in the world right now, Cena is largely just comic relief.

Exactly, if it wasn't for WWE showcasing it, people wouldn't be as aware of Cena's Make a Wish accolades. Plus, recognition shouldn't be a factor in determining "more successful" philanthropy. Just something weird to gripe about.

I thought Dwayne already had a star to be honest. Well deserved though.

You all know its not an "award" right? They have to buy those stars. There is a criteria for them but they're bought. Bogus trophy just like all Hollywood ones. Nobody earns those acclaims, they buy them!

This thread is a useless tidbit. So he gets another award he bought. His WWE titles were more deserved because they were given. This is a purchased item passed off as a "prize". Anyone can buy a star of fame. It's a public sidewalk. It's the same as adopting a mile stretch on a highway.

Same thing, Just more expensive on Hollywood Boulevard.

Its a shame the Hulkster is not on the walk of fame yet.

I guess well deserved. I don't know what it takes to get one but I do think Rock deserve one more then Cena. Looking at a movie list of what Rock and Cena have been in they don't even compare.
