Too lazy to find a link for my Murican friends. I believe it's $700 though.

I pumped so many quarters in this thing as a preteen. Much nostalgia. I also played the crap out of it on whichever Xbox they released it on for a digital download so many years ago.

I'm finishing my basement this fall and would love to find a spot for this...how to convince my wife that it's a good idea?

Nice, I've seen a couple at Wal-Mart in the past, that I would have loved to have (TMNT, Pac-Man), but wouldn't have the space for.

So we're totally going to hang out at the end of the year then? I uh can pay you in quarters for an authentic experience.

Oh yeah. Once the basement is done and the game is setup you're definitely coming over for beers and gaming. Invite you over enough and those quarters will add up to offset the cost of this cabinet!

Imma gonna get Lony so drunk on bourbon smashes. I'll put an extra scoop of jam in there he won't even know how much alcohol is in it. 

Get some good reviews on this before you buy it. A lot of these new cabinets cut costs with more fragile designs.

That said, look into DIYing it with a Raspberry Pi. It is emulation based, but all modern ones are, and you can build one for as little as 200ish. Hardest part is cutting the curves / angles on the cabinet box's frame, and drilling the holes for the buttons, sticks, lights.

My friends DIY cost $500, has twin 6 button set up on it, two guns, down where a coin slot would be be, LED lighting, fairly large screen and all that crap. Any game that you can play with a gun, or a single stick and six buttons you can play on it. Thing is built like a fucking tank too since he only wanted to build it once.

Oh man, Foos you suck. I'm tempted to throw that on my Brick card for my rumpus/bar room in the basement. I used to play this for hours. I think it was one of very few arcade games I played ever:  Street Fighter, PacMan, Miss Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Galaga.  I'm not much of a gamer, but I loved this game.

That was my favorite arcade game. For that price, i might look into buying it.

It depends if $700 is a lot of money, kind of a lot of money, or nothing to you. If it is a lot you probably won't convince her on getting a game you already own again for that price. If it is kind of a lot tell her you really want it and that she could also get something around that price no questions asked from you. If the price is nothing to you just say you are going to buy it and she probably won't care.

Or just use it like an investment I use to burn $10 dollars on that and Simpsons a visit. So if Lony is like me if he visits you 70 times then you would be out nothing.

This thread was totally worth my first visit to VG&T in forever.

I want in on this so bad.

This was actually my first visit. Ever. I did just get a new Xbox but will have to wait for Madden and NHL to be released to get some games.

Truly it's not the $900 that's the issue. Our basement will cost $45-50k to finish so what's another $900. I think it's more of the physical space the cabinet will take up combined with how much I'll actually play it once the novelty wears off. My boys are 3.5 and 4 months old. Is this something they'd play too in a number of years? And how many quarters can I bank on Lony shoving in the machine?

Sounds like the perfect thing to bust out when PWers visit.

I played Foosball when I met my first PWer in person. No idea what year this was. Maybe 2005? Johnny Canuck was in the city visiting extended family. He came over for a beer and some foosball.

Wish I had the stuff needed.  My friend stayed late at his job to do the cutting since he works in a metal shop.  Outside of cutting the wood and drilling the holes, these are stupidly easy to put together.  Very likely when you order these are not assembled so will learn how to do it anyway.

I have plans since forever to build a fuĺl sized MAME arcade cabinet, just never get around to it
