I'd be down for both guys coming into AEW, however, I'm going in with low expectations so I don't end up disappointed.

So about an hour ago Punk posted Alan Parsons Project’s “Sirius” on his Instagram story.
Ricky Steamboat’s old theme. Or better known as the entrance for the Chicago Red Bull’s and used predominantly on the fantastic Michael Jordan “The Last Dance” Netflix Doc.
This is Punk’s last dance. It’s happening, people.

Well, this should be interesting. They get Punk, but they also get Punk's drama. Let's hope he remains in a good mood as the second he sours on things, he can be a dick to be around countless people have said over the years.
REALLY hoping he reforms the Second City Saints and can go out with Colt. Not sure how likely that is to happen since the cut runs deep between those two.

May be fan booking but due to the limited time they have to get them both in AEW, they may do Punk vs Dragon at All Out.

I wonder if the Khans will pay for the rights to either Cult of Personality, or The Final Countdown?

If he's dishing out royalties so Jungle Boy and Orange Cassidy can have personalized themese then I can't see why he wouldn't do that for two of the biggest steals in wrestling history.

Big time move but again another ex ROH/WWE guy who will take up the time on TV. This response almost made me throw my phone across the room. Jesus.

It's a great grab don't get me wrong but it's a poor look to have so much time and hooplah over stars that weren't broken through on Dynamite on a weekly basis. Punk gets it, he will work with MJF/Allin/Wardlow etc. He's the exception to this, just they continue to say they aren't plucking ex WWE guys yet they continue in doing so with these two potential hires. No brainers, absolutely but when you bring in Chavo Guerrero this past Wednesday to add to the relics already on the roster, I don't know. Also have no idea what Punk has left in the ring, he's always been a better mic worker than in-ring worker. Do you see any Pepsi Plunges now post WWE? I assume KENTA will want a piece of Punk if he tries the Go 2 sleep on a regular basis. Does Punk's MMA time incorporate anything. I am more curious what he does in the ring more than anything and what he has left.

I think getting a cover of Ride of the Valkyries would work fine and be cheaper than Final Countdown. And Bryan's used Final Countdown for as long as he ever used Final Countdown.
Punk gets "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton.

The way I see it is it's Tony Khan's money and if he wants to spend it having a real life fan fic happy time then more power to him. He can do what he wants and we get to enjoy it. If you're worried about young talent getting buried I don't know what to tell ya. There are 2 (soon to be 3) FREE shows online PER WEEK that showcases all that talent, and ensures they will be ready to go when the old guard move on in a couple years. Watch those shows if you care so much about them so that they know they have support and don't quit or go elsewhere.

There's only 24 hours in a day, too much wrestling going on with AEW and WWE alone. I have no idea how people find the time to watch all of the content from one of these companies(AEW Dynamite, upcoming AEW Rampage, AEW Dark, and I think all of the podcasts, Being the Elite). I only tune into Dynamite sometimes for AEW basically.

Strange complaint coming from you Blindy as I'm pretty sure you manage to play more than 24 hours of video games in a day considering how quickly you blast through them. But maybe that's the reason you wouldn't have time for AEW. Anyway RT's point is not that you have to watch all these shows, just that their young talent is being showcased a lot. Not that that's a problem in my eyes. If it was all ex-WWE guys, sure, but the AEW homegrown talent is still a big majority. A lot of the WWE guys are veterans used in non-wrestling roles. It's the stars like Jericho, Bryan and Punk that will help bring a lot more eyes to the company. What specifically is the problem with bringing in ex-WWE guys because I'm not seeing it. How is it harming the product in any way? Tell me. Spell it out.

As someone who is admittedly not the biggest Tony Khan fan, I think he's done a good job walking the tightrope with signing WWE guys. You have to be careful because you don't want that TNA perception, but at the same time, if someone like Black comes on the market as a free agent and you turn it down because he's ex-WWE, that would be stupid. Anyone who brings the roster standard up should be signed. So Black and Miro are good signings for that reason. Moreover, does anyone watch AEW and think about anyone being ex-WWE? Dean Ambrose has literally gone from my mind. AEW have done a nice job with that.

Talking songs, I REALLY would love Punk going back to the Miseria Cantare.
Black was a great pick up for AEW as they are saying he has a lot of really wild ideas for feuds. Like shit that has never been done before and doing them in interesting ways and he has a unique way of framing the scenes he wants in them. The whole black vs white thing with Cody is very interesting and gives the feud that little bit more. He was well worth taking a risk with. Sure he could be seen as a WWE guy, but was he really? He never seemed to get anything going there.
As for Miro, why the hell would they not sign him? Rusev was over with two wildly different gimmicks in WWE. Dude proved himself and is rock solid. You want rock solid guys on your team.
Punk and Dragon will do wonders for the AEW ratings so they are well worth bringing in for short term deals. Punk I suspect will end up on commentary or in training people after a few matches. He is one of the absolute best at calling matches, and he can be the Dusty style promo guy at the Nightmare Factory. He will not make his millions doing either, but at heart Punk loves wrestling and this way he can help make the stuff he would want to see. Like HHH, I suspect Punk will find the most happiness bringing up the next generation. Dragon is just fucking weird and likely signed to fight Omega and have them help him get to Japan to fight Ospery, ZSJ, Okada and Naito. If Dragon works a match, it will be one of his bucket list before I retire matches. Dragon def wants to be part time though and just come in for the big matches.
Still very curious to hear why Punk signed. Dragon is understandable, but Punk, he seemed to be only concerned with cash and AEW does not likely have the cash he wanted, so someone changed Punk mind. Would not be shocked if it was Henry or Show that convinced Punk to come back.

c AEW doesn’t seem to have the cash Punk wants? Khan’s father owns an NFL franchise and also owns a football team that was just relegated from the Premier League last season. I think TK will have the funds that would make it worth Punk’s time. I think the main draw for Punk aside from bags of cash is compelling television and facing guys he’s had no history with previously.

Meltzer has been told by his WWE sources that they believe CM Punk has signed with AEW. He also posted on his message board yesterday that it may not be officially signed, but the way people are talking it is happening unless there's some huge last minute blow up.
All Out is going to do 200k buys.

Tony Khan's dad basically told his sons that he would rather be alive to see them enjoy his money and that's what Tony is doing. Part of me thinks that Punk was always going to sign with AEW if he decided to return and he just wanted to see how things went before making up his mind.

Khan may have a large bank account but 20 million is still a shitload of cash. Also that is 7 times more than Jericho makes, and more than Jericho, Omega, Bucks, Cody, Mox, Lucha Bros and PAC make combined. Punk may draw, but bring him in for 20 million and you get major drama regarding pay. Speaking of the Jaguars, Punk's price would have been 50% higher than any of the Jaguars.
