As seen on WWE TV as of late, Asuka is no longer using the Chicken Wing Asuka lock submission finisher, and is now using the Armbar instead.

Dave Meltzer speculated in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Asuka switching holds, along with her getting pushed more as a shoot fighter in WWE, could be setting up a potential Asuka vs Ronda Rousey match in WWE, as Rousey is the Armbar master in the world of MMA.

As we noted earlier this week, Rousey is currently finalizing a deal with WWE, and her signing is reportedly imminent.

I see Asuka jobbing out.

It's happening.

Rousey signing with WWE made my local news, it was funny because the anchor clearly had never heard of her and kept calling her Ronda Roosey. :lol:

When talking about Ronda in the Royal Rumble page, I made a scenario where this feud with Asuka could be stretched, rather than just a quick buck. For those who didn't get it, I'll repeat it here.

Asuka wins the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble, eliminating Ronda near the end of the match.
Then after Asuka wins the RAW Women's Title at WrestleMania, Ronda sneaks into the ring, turns Asuka around, and they staredown intensely.
During the spring/summer, Asuka continues defending the title. While at the same time, Ronda makes a challenge for Asuka at SummerSlam.
They face off at SummerSlam, and despite giving more than 100%, Ronda still loses to Asuka.
They have a rematch at Survivor Series (Which will be in LA, BTW), where it would favor Ronda, by making it a submission match. And again, Asuka would get the best of Ronda.
The only way Ronda would get another shot, would be if she won the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble. And she does.
They announce that Ronda and Asuka will main event WrestleMania 35, and that they will square off in the steel cage.
After being undefeated for three and a half years, Asuka is finally beaten. As Ronda Rousey becomes the new RAW Women's Champion.

There. That's how WWE should do it. Not in a quick cash grab, but in a investing, long-term storyline that would not only win fans, but also get the mainstream invested as well.

That's not a bad idea Punk'd, you should have gotten into the fan fic draft.

I wouldn't go the Goldberg/Brock route with Ronda because of the way she lost her last 2 fights, that's all anybody remembers about her, nobody remembers this, or this, all they remember is this and this. So not the best idea to bring her in and just roll over the roster, she clearly lost her way in tail end of her MMA career, I would carry some of that over into her WWE career, maybe a crisis of confidence angle or something. Maybe have Asuka squash Rousey in a matter of seconds for some shock value, putting Asuka over huge, kickstarting some angle where Rousey tries to gain back whatever it was that she lost. I don't know, it's going to be tricky to book. Would have been different back when she was invincible. The obvious answer is to pair her with Paul E. I think Rousey could be one of the best heels in WWE man or woman, she's a natural heat magnet and already has the peanut butter in my chocolate heat going with the smarks.
