Halo campaigns are mediocre, and much like the Blair Witch and found footage, if it wasn’t at the forefront of the tech, where things were inevitably leading, it wouldn’t be nearly as prolific, carried mostly by nostalgia.

The combos where you have to hold buttons are even worse, EG the sumo headbutt or the super/ultra combos that make you change twice.
Turns off so many new players.

As well as combos that involve pressing up that is also jump
(all fighting games)

And this is from someone who is pretty good at street fighter

Probably would've been more well received if it wasn't so difficult. Really like the X series though. Never managed to beat any because yeah.

I'm Sega'in It: Sonic 2 is better than any Mario game.

Also, Final Fantasy campaigns in general are massively overrated by overly nostalgic weeaboos. They're occassionally fun games, not cinematic masterpieces that would have made Orson Welles weep in his carton of fried chicken.

Sonic 2 is the only great Sonic game.

There's a handful of good ones spread out over decades but most are trash. Without Sonic 2 Sonic is as relevant as Bonk.

I agree that Sonic 2 is better than any Mario game.

However, Sonic 2 is not leagues ahead of any other Sonic game. The original Sonic The Hedgehog for the Genesis is on the same level, and the 8-bit Sonic games for the Master System are also fantastic.

I'm saying it, the Crash Bandicoot games are the best 3D platformers ever made. Particularly Crash 2 and Crash 3.

Sonic 1 felt like they didn't know what they wanted. Lotta slow down for a character built on speed. Sonic 2 took the good, added more and boom instant classic.

3 and K dropped the ball because you never fight Knuckles do you?

I enjoy the 3D Games more. Running at full speed only to smack into an obstacle that you can’t see until it’s too late and losing all your rings just makes it seem like it wants to punish you for what it’s trying to promote

Best thing about Sonic 1 is definitely the soundtrack. Best video game soundtrack for me personally; the songs of my people, if you will.

Everything after 2 is either just decent or flat out garbàge.

I didn't get too far, but I didn't enjoy BOTW. It insists upon itself. Only Zelda I actively didn't bother to beat. BOTW2 I won't even bother with. Shoulda been a Zelda 2 remake. But I think the further they went 3d and and away from top down 2d, the less I enjoyed them.

I sometimes wonder if the hit and miss of Sonic is that his gift is just not possible to emulate when they delegate it to a goofy platformer. He's the spirit of ECW. Despite being so short lived they have managed to squeeze everything out of the fanbase.

But I'd take either 11 times out of 10 over Zelda/Link

I only played a few hours of BOTW, Weapons constantly breaking and despite it being open world everywhere I went felt like the wrong way to go and was punished for it. Sold it for what I paid for it thankfully.
