Big props to AEW for the signings, gotta give credit where it is due. Wonder what the NY crowd will get  I am stunned they blew their big signings all at once like that. I don't agree with Soho winning the Royale, Rosa should have. Thunder Rosa has been the kryptonite to Baker, Rosa could have eaten a loss for the title IMHO. Soho didn't need a title to make her relevant, her being so new is buzz enough to make her interesting. Could have taken on Nyla Rose as her opening feud and that would have been good to watch. The idea was likely to go for the knock out blow. In the fight for the pre-lockdown landscape, WWE has been put on its ass twice in the first round. Actually, WWE likely isn't even aware it's in a fight yet, because it just got donkey punched twice out of nowhere. Potentially you could look back on ALL OUT '21 in a similar vain to WrestleMania XIV with the momentum shifting. They've also got Buddy lined up to debut soon enough and, despite not being on the same magnitude of Cole, Punk or Danielson.. he will get a lot of love from the AEW fanbase and it will make a great tv moment, especially when he squares up to Black.

I thought Buddy Matthews signed with Impact?
They got Rotunda/Wyatt next month though. And Okada is NJPW wants to be nice to them, they haven't gotten deep into the pot of New Japan.

It really shows you how fucking incompetent WWE is that, more than likely, the ONLY REASON Adam Cole is in AEW is because they wouldn't let him keep doing Twitch It is insane he was totally willing to just chill forever in NXT with no real concern if he made it higher or not. Dude just wanted his twitch account and they could not just give him that. I assume Ruby's youtube is coming back as well, which should be a lot of fun. Really wonder if when her contract is up, Liv will jump. Love Ruby, but Liv just takes her to the next level.

Bray is also teasing him and Fiend maybe coming to AEW. He will have a lot pulling for him given he is a third gen who was treated dirty. TNA may fit him better, the Fiend is something I can see going over very well in AEW. I can see AEW getting the gimmick and having Bray have a non-fiend wrestling persona to use most of the time.

I’ll just copy what I tweeted a few weeks ago but it’s still true
The irony of the WWE only crowd bashing Tony Khan for using his dad’s money to sign & scout wrestlers never ceases to amaze me.

They've got to be very careful with Bray Wyatt. The Fiend is fucking awful. His matches under the mask have been shit shows, and the entire children's show host - Jekyll and Hyde routine is cringe-inducing. They'd be better basing the character in some reality, closer to his " Wyatt Family " persona. At no point does anyone believe he is some sort of simpleton that transforms into a monster. It may work in WWE, considering the core demographic is 10 year old boys. If people think the Dork Order is ridiculous, The Fiend is an insult. Malikai Black is a perfect example of presenting a character with some supernatural undertones and still existing in this reality.

Good god almighty what a show that was. Pretty much instantly goes into the conversation as one of the greatest PPVs of all time. Miro vs Kingston was a great opener, Bucks/Lucha Bros was just absurd, Punk has 110% still got it, and then holy hell that ending was just superb. What a time to be alive indeed.

Fuck yeah that was just the best.

At first I thought maybe they went a bit overboard with the debuts but was the one time all eyes were going to be on AEW, why not hook them while they are there
I’m glad Omega retained and they showed him as their top guy as he’s never been on WWE TV so they can push him as the alternative

I think the double debut at the end was perfect because we were 98% sure that Bryan was going to be there, so Cole was an awesome fakeout. For a couple of minutes there I thought TK was going to make us wait until the NY show so when his music hit it was a surprise all over again.

In AEW he can be a lot more violent and not limited to bad horror in matches scripted by writers with no wrestling experience.

It's a bold claim, but never underestimate what excitement (especially in such a dullard era) brings to wrestling.

Been in the office since early doors and then the gym but en route home with a real excitement to watch this event. Been reading up on Twitter and watching some clips on there and Instagram throughout the day in anticipation. There’s a cool post on a Bret Hart fan account detailing five like for like spots in the Allin/Punk match and Bret/Waltman all those years back. Fucking A homage from Punk. Love it.

The one thing I am digging from AEW is just the breath of fresh air it is to the industry, I love it, it's making me fall in love with professional wrestling again.
Huge fans of OC's and Jungle Express' themes, the arm waves do it for me during their entrance. Also, I guess people can correct me on this but is Omega giving off Triple H 'Reign of Terror' vibes? Although, I do hope we get him v Hangman at some point

Omega is doing classic heel Flair. Can't wait for him and Dragon to do a Chitown Rumble. Gotta imagine see the Okada matches really made him wanna wrestle Kenny again even if they're not likely to do anything on that level.

I'll be honest, I have no real interest in Chuckles McMurphy in AEW. He modeled his 205 Live/Raw run on being Great Value Kenny Omega and being in the same company as actual Kenny Omega is just gonna expose that.

Releasing vignettes based in the same universe as Black, would suggest some connection to AEW.
