Ugggg!
Actually that may have been the highlight of the entire program. It was a neat subvert of expectations that actually made sense. Of course if you wanted to hang out in Jericho's crew you have to do some elaborate musical number. It was one of the bolder moves AEW has made and it was so much better than the SNL-wannabe skit I anticipated.
It's going to be interesting to see how well the feud ages over time. Had you said at the start of AEW that MJF-Jericho would have a year long feud and MJF would win the majority of the matches it would sound like a smart idea on paper. However as it stands it just seemed like a way to keep both guys busy for a year and at the end of the day no one was really elevated by it.
I don't think it was terrible by any means but a little underwhelming.

The craziest part of the whole thing was that when Le Diner Debonair started, I immediately said to myself "uh, I think they're going to do a musical number," then I thought "wait that's ridiculous, they would never," THEN IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

Dunno what a Tony Award is, but gonna assume it's a gold star from da boss.

Dunno what a Tony Award is, but gonna assume it's a gold star from da boss. That would actually be hilarious if AEW’s version of the Slammy was called The Tony Awards. Still blows my mind they were nominated for legit awards for that segment. I didn’t even think that was possible for wrestling. So awesome.

I concur with Big Pete, Although I will say this feud didn't elevate anyone, it was still fun and didn't harm either guy.

I still say it looks like something Brian and Stewie would do. And MJF would be Stewie and Jericho would be Brian.

Please, if John Cena did the exact same segment with anyone on the WWE roster, the sky would be falling for WWE and it would make a Whatculture list of reasons why Vince is losing his mind.

I've avoided this segment for so long. I hate show tunes and everyone always acts like it was the most cringe segment they've ever seen... But honestly, it wasn't that bad. It took some balls to do this and it could have been worse. The stupidest shit I've ever seen. I wish I loved anything as much as NATH45 hates AEW.
