My top three most played Switch games this year are...

1. Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX 2. Pokemon Shield 3. Splatoon 2
Although Skyward Sword could be vying for that #3 slot. I played around 5 hours of it around launch, really enjoyed it but then got distracted by something else.

I think Tales of Arise was probably the longest game when going for the Platinum, Scarlet Nexus and Lost Judgement took quite a while for the amount of completion I went for.

How do you know all of that Blindy ? Do you keep a video game diary? I post in another forum that keeps tabs on games you have beaten so I record it over there. I share both my posts here(You guys get first dibs) and over there. The times are off outside of start and end dates. R&C: Tools of Destruction doesn't have trophy support so I can't even cheat based off that . Have done a semi to big writeup on all of the games.

Tales of Eternia 9. Tales of Zestiria 10. Mario Kart 64 Got to approve of a Tales of dominated list and a Final Fantasy MMO. Yeah I remember you being really high on Berseria and despite being a fan of the series I was never really in a rush to play through it. However when I went to clear some of my backlog I got hooked and spent around 200 hours getting all the achievements. The game just really clicked for me and I really enjoyed how the story played out and farming for rare drops was fun because the combat was so insanely broken but fun to play. It inspired me to play through the others and I really enjoyed them as well, even Zestiria which is the black sheep of the series.
I actually made a thread for FFXI and then proceeded to never post in it again. I've been meaning to return to it, but I got stuck on one of the Level Cap missions and I haven't played it in months. I keep updating the game with plans to go back to it but then something comes up and I find myself repeating the cycle. It's something I'll remedy in the coming days.

I've been meaning to return to it, but I got stuck on one of the Level Cap missions and I haven't played it in months. Nice to know this doesn't only happen to me. Currently stuck on a boss in Witcher II. The outcome: haven't played it in months I used to be horrible at this during the PS2 era and had so many games where I'd put 15-20 hours into it and moved on. It took me three attempts to really stick with DQVIII and I'm so glad I did.
With FFXI, it's a mission that's split into three parts. I have to go into three dungeons, cast sneak/invisible (that's on a 5 minute timer) and either farm for a rare drop or search for three locations on the map to access the item. Even just getting to the locations is confusing and since I've hit the cap I'm not getting any additional EXP.
That's 1/3 missions as well. I only have 5 levels before I hit the next cap and have to do 10 missions in total before I've hit the max cap. From what I understand, each mission is divided into three parts so it's a slog.
I remember trying it right away, I got lost and fell down a huge pit which resulted in a game over and was really no closer to finding it.
I just went back to it tonight, the first part was easy enough, the bomb dropped the item right away. The second, I got lost trying to find the location, got lost trying to find the monsters and then it took an hour farming them to get the drop. To be fair, I could have searched for the drops but I was running out of sneak/invisible items so I farmed instead. But now I'm way too tired to start the process again to farm skeletons for the last bit.

1. Street Fighter V Until Street Fighter VI comes out, this will stay at my most played game. Even they hadn’t buckled to the e-sports community and waited another 2 years to relate SFV in a decent state I think this would have a much higher player base as it’s a great game with CONTENT now not just a glorified early access title. Anyway I miss the days of playing friends/family in person so I keep playing this. 2. Fortnite The McDonalds of gaming. Was a perfect game for lockdown. It’s cross-play and it’s free so was really easy to set up games during it and I loved the aliens season. Have given it a bit of a rest since. 3. Subnautica Amazing game, does a perfect job of showcasing the beautiful yet horrifying nature of the ocean. Such a good job of masking the progression level with depth as sure you can try to go to endgame areas…until you draw your last breath and die. I found the later game quite frustrating but overall this is highly recommended. I Need to restart below zero though. 4. Animal Crossing: New Horizons My comfort game of last year, now I just enjoy my retirement from my turnip investments on my amazing island (if I do say so myself) picking up weeds and playing it for a short while until I get annoyed at the still get to be updated pocket size. Will upload video of my island at a later time. 5. Far Cry 6 One of the few 2021 games I actually purchased, kept seeing non-stop ads for it on TikTok so I caved in. Never played a Far Cry game before so I enjoyed it for the novelty but can definitely see why it has its detractors. The ending was atrocious as was most of the writing that didn’t feature Giancarlo Esposito. 6. Axiom Verge I’ve been very vocal about my hatred of puzzles and games where it’s a huge effort just to found out where the fuck you’re supposed to go. So in my infinite wisdom I purchased one of these games and got some enjoyment out of it. Great atmosphere and music as well as enemy design but having to watch a YouTube guide for a lot of the game really annoyed me. I finally beat it…then purchased Axiom Verge 2 and got stuck #Genius 7. Rust: Console Edition I know what you’re thinking after seeing last entry and then this, System do you have sadomasochistic tendencies? And after the amount of hours I put into this despite having little idea of what to do and never progressing much passed being a naked before being killed I don’t know what to tell you. 8. Aliens: Fireteam Elite I’d highly recommend this to anyone that likes Aliens and has…. 3 competent friends to play this with, otherwise don’t bother. The AI is useless and relying on public players to join is a recipe for disaster. Such a shame as this is such a treat for Alien fans but it’s simply too hard unless you can convince another 3 people to purchase this and play alongside you. Should either be free to play or a 2 player co-op or even solo game. 9. Crisis Wing The amount of people who have told me they played this as a kid despite me explicitly telling them it’s a 2020 game is too damn high, just shows people don’t listen. Anyway pretty fun shoot ‘em up throwback game, still can’t get passed the second last stage and I’m not prepared to keep my console running to do so as there is no save feature. Wouldn’t be out of place in a 90s arcade to steal all of your tokens. 10. Hong Kong Massacre Hotel Miami meets the Triad. As fun as it is frustrating, I have fond memories (from a few months ago..) of listening to DONDA while trying to beat this evil fucking game. Highly recommended.

My #1 is easily Overwatch. I enjoy it still, and it's the perfect game for my dad life. I can just drop in any time, play a few games, then be on my way.
After that, probably Red Dead Redemption II. I played the fuck out of that for a solid 3 months or so. Tried to wrap it 100% but gave up. Some of the side quests are ridiculous. I spent like a week trying to find a 3 star oriole and got fed up.
The Last of Us II also took up quite a bit of my free time.
...
As for Switch, I dunno. My son and I played a lot of Luigi's Mansion 3 together. That's probably my #1 there. Our family plays Mario Party sometimes but it usually results in my son throwing a fit when he starts to lose.

Playstation Wrap Up 2021 finally dropped, limited time for those who want to check it, not sure if it's worldwide.
Either way, turns out Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturn was my most played game at 93 hours, followed by 90 for replaying Persona 5 for the Royal edition before Strikers dropped, and Arise was actually my 3rd most, at 86 hours. Rounding out the top 5 is Dark Souls 2 and Lost Judgement, at 83 and 81 hours respectively.
I played a total of 1,362 hours across 63 games for 1026 trophies: 9 Platinum, 88 gold, 221 silver, and 708 bronze.
