Some guy on twitter decided to do a randomized Royal Rumble but for AEW. He wanted to see if you could flesh out a better Rumble than what we got in WWE just by using 30 randomized wrestlers from AEW. He left off Adam Page (champ) and ignored tag teams.
The results are amazing and just go to show how much this company cares about creativity and stories. Even completely randomized you have multiple spots and moments going on in this match:

That was pretty neat, plus added upside of being quick to read. Although seems silly to post no tag team guys (not you RT, but the guy who did this), when both Jungle Boy and Rey Fenix were in the match (I guess a case could be made for Rey Fenix, however, Jungle Boy is most definitely a tag team guy). Small nitpick aside, like I said it's neat, I'd love to see AEW do their own Rumble match. I know they have the Casino Battle Royale but it's not the same thing

At least it’s better than NJPW where they do a “ranbo” and everyone just starts in the ring.

Yeah that's true and still better than the reverse battle royal that TNA/Impact Wrestling were doing at one point.

If AEW adds a many person match, would much prefer to see an infinite gauntlet or torneo cibernetico. Torneo cibernetico would be amazing in AEW and give the same awesome spots a Rumble could. Infinite gauntlet few fans are familiar with, and is a really fun concept as well.

Infinite gauntlet few fans are familiar with, and is a really fun concept as well. I don’t remember how the Infinite Gauntlet worked. I remember you could do pin falls, submissions or over the top rope, and someone entered every 90 seconds or something like that, but that’s all I remember. I’d be down for just a regular old Gauntlet Match. Either make it part of a PPV or do a special episode of Dynamite. They’ve shown they’re not afraid to do long matches on television so why not? Make it an annual thing and you have to qualify for a spot. Make it like 8 guys, the quicker you win your qualifying match the further down the entry list you are, and go from there.

Infinite Gauntlet has a ton of ways to run it but traditionally it is pin falls or submission, winner stays loser leaves. Once a person is out, someone replaces them. Last man standing is the winner. Five minute time limits are common to keep things moving and give the man who holds the ring the advantage. Some do over the top eliminations as well. Only two men in the ring at a time holds firm from all formats of it.
CHIKARA started with a tag version of this at their tag team tournaments which was a whole lot of fun.

That was one of the problems with the Royal Rumble too main tag team wrestlers which have no chance of winning. Alpha Academy, Street Profits, and etc should not get spots. But if you are just in a tag team but mainly a singles Orton and Riddle that is fine. If you only throw in upper tier single guys of course it will be better.
And like mentioned AEW has their on version of the rumble and the last one was not the star studded affair like the randomizer picked. They had this
Christian Cage (Jungle Boy) Matt Sydal (Max Caster) Powerhouse Hobbs (Christian Cage) Dustin Rhodes (Powerhouse Hobbs) Max Caster (Christian Cage) Isiah Kassidy (Jungle Boy) Matt Hardy (Christian Cage) 10 Preston Vance (Dustin Rhodes) Nick Comoroto (Dustin Rhodes) Serpentico (10) Brian Pillman Jr. (Private Party Griff Garrison (Matt Hardy) Colt Cabana (Isiah Kassidy) Anthony Bowens (Brian Pillman Jr.) Penta El Zero M (Jungle Boy) Jungle Boy—Winner Marq Quen (Christian Cage) Aaron Solow (Lee Johnson) Evil Uno (Penta El Zero M) Lee Johnson (Matt Hardy) Lio Rush (Matt Hardy)
Looking at this then or today how many people do you think has a chance of actually being a world champion.

Yeah that's a weak list. Jungle Boy and Christian have had title shots, so them, and I'd add Hobbs, Dustin Rhodes (simply because he is Dustin Rhodes, not that he'd ever win), Matt Hardy (same as Christian, can get a shot on history alone), Penta, both members of The Acclaimed (although that is a waaaays off, and that's if they continue to improve)...and that's about it. Maybe toss in Lee Johnson but he's a long way off too.

I don't wanna WELL ACKSHUALLY this guy's work, as he clearly put a lot of thought and effort into it, but it's not super difficult to book a better Rumble as IMO the Rumble was never really supposed to be good. There's maybe one or two potential storylines -- notably 'will entry #1 last through til the end' or the inverse where Lesnar actively wanted the hardest slot -- but the draw is the surprise entrants where AEW and their forbidden door policy has huge HUGE potential.
You could have Hiroshi Tanahashi make a rando entrance, or Bob Backlund, or dare I say John Cena.

All the stables is why I want a cibernetico. It is perfect for tag team heavy environments.
