I loved the black and gold so don't get me wrong, I like seeing these talents get better used in AEW but it's just such contradictory. Your throwing the horses that got you here and are taking guys and gals from the brand you beat and bragged all about.

A Serena Deeb squash match with some Rip Rogers inspired moves is how you get Cornette back on the AEW good graces before the inevitable outlaw match to end this show on. Master class trolling by Omega and Khan.

Really good episode overall. Debuts were somewhat predictable, but still amazing to see. Jay White showing up + Bullet Club shoutouts = Happy RT.

I hope Hangman isn't too badly hurt. Page vs. Cole is going to be dope as fuck.

On one hand, it's good to see a promoter try to live up to his audience's expectations. On the other, I'm not sure how well this bodes for White.

No he's saying that when he made the announcement he was talking about Keith Lee. So then on Sunday he secured Jay White who is still under contract with NJPW (supposedly signed a 7 year deal in 2018).

Tony needs to stop tweeting. As soon as I read those tweets I knew he fucked up. So he scrambles and gets Jay White to show up, which, ok, great, but KENTA has appeared twice and it went nowhere. Actually do something, Tony.

Little tidbit tonight: CM Punk’s attire was from his Straight Edge Society days in WWE. Last week in his match against MJF he wore his camo attire that he wore against John Cena once or twice as well.

Punk seems to be recycling some old WWE attire and I’m curious if it’s just for fun or if there’s some hidden meaning.

Jeff is under his non-compete and the Briscoes are unlikely to show up in AEW.  They were going to debut they would have by now.

Both are OK pick ups. But what are they going to do with them is the million dollar question.

How many ex-Bullet Club guys can they bring in to play nWo? Jay White should be gunning for Adam Page at 100 miles an hour. King Switch is a killer compared to most of the roster.

Keith Lee should be a monster. I know they probably want to see him flop around like it's " not about weight limits " and it's the 2003 TNA X-Division and pretend he's actually good at it - but he's 250lb heavier than 90% of the roster and a foot taller. He's your Brock Lesnar. He's your marquee monster if booked right.

So let's recap...

Show kicked off with a big celebratory promo from MJF but before he could get to his point (if he even had one) CM Punk with Sting and Darby Allin in toe interrupted and challenged MJF for a rematch. MJF accepted under one condition, CM Punk had to go through FTR without either Sting or Darby Allin. CM Punk extended an invitation to Wardlow but would ultimately recruit Jon Moxley who sauntered out. FTR through the whole kitten kabootle at Punk but Moxley was able to save the day for his team and in the end helped Punk stand victorious and earn his rematch against MJF.

Backstage, Andrade once again mocked Darby with his 'how much for the little boy' routine. Darby was not amused, so Andrade answered in kind making it clear that he's also in the mix for the TNT Championship.

Roppongi Vice were being interviewed when The Young Bucks interrupted. They attacked Roppongi when a mysterious figure caused a momentary halt in proceedings. It was Switchblade Jay White making his AEW debut and Jay White helped lay out Trent Beretta before quickly leaving the scene. Later on the Young Bucks quizzed Adam Cole on Jay White's arrival, especially after The Elite's bad blood with him, but Cole assured him that the Bullet Club have each other's backs and White will prove that on Rampage when he'll be at ringside for their tag team match.

Wardlow made short work of The Blade. Shawn Spears once again weighed in with an unnecessary chair shot after the match.

The Inner Circle aired their dirty laundry. Santana and Ortiz were tired of serving Jericho and wanted to break out of their own, Jericho didn't like how ungrateful they were and they decided to settle their beef in the ring next week in a tag team match. Jericho/Hager vs. Santana/Ortiz. Guevara also walked out on both teams.

Keith Lee made one of the most impressive debuts in AEW history after he completelyed yeeted Kassidy around the ring. Lee has now qualified for the Face of the Revolution Ladder match where the winner will receive the highly coveted and rare opportunity to face the TNT Champion.

Newcomer AQA came within a whisker of upsetting TBS Champion Jade Cargill with a Shooting Star Press otherwise it was business as usual for one of the most dominant forces in Pro Wrestling today.

Serena Deeb introduced her new segment 'The Professor's 5 Minute Rookie Challenge' with her first contestant Katie Arquette (no relation?). Deeb won in around a minute with a well executed single leg boston crab.

Hangman Adam Page wasted little time in his grusome and hard fought title defence against Lance Archer. Page attacked Archer before the entrances (I guess that old beer money will pay off whatever fine I'm sure TK will slug him with) as both men wasted little time in a knock out drag em out fight. Highlights included Hangman taking a Blackout from the apron to the steel steps and a variation of the Buckshot Lariat where Page used the official as a springboard and knocked Archer off the apron onto a pile of tables below. Hangman was just able to answer the ten count in the knick of time. However Page had little time to celebrate as Adam Cole made it clear that he wants a shot at the title and he's not going to go through a DynamiteCage of Doom match to get his shot.

Also the real answer is that Wardlow came through the Forbidden Door since he's under contract to MJF.

I was so confused why people were talking about Jay White and the forbidden door as if ROH isn’t done and he didn’t debut at the PPV…

Shit, Keith Lee is massive. Get a bit of that weight off man, you’ll hurt yourself. Great debut though, Kassidy really put him over well with the rag doll selling. Lee is a good fit for AEW if he can still go. He’s smark friendly enough to have the type of matches that crowd likes, while his size will offer some nice differentiation in style that the roster really needs. But he looks too big to me and should trim and should trim some of it.

It’s crazy that Khan arranged the White deal because he fucked up his wording to the press. Simultaneously admirable and reckless - typically Tony Khan.
