And what about the FFL AKA Freedom Football League. Apparently, Ricky Williams and Terrell Owens are some of the big names involved in this and they got a bunch of investors involved as well. Unlike the other two leagues, I don't see this one getting past the planning stages.

Just seen the teams for the other league this is awesome. I get the impression that the grand design for all this is the two leagues merging after a few years. What other league? aaf.com/the-alliance-of-american-football-unveils-its-inaugural-uniforms/I got dibs on San Antonio Commanders. XFL putting a team in Houston was major factor in winning me over though, that's my Spring league.

Some of the new rules proposed by the Xfl copy/pasted from another site I seen:
The XFL is still more than a year away from its debut season, but some new rules the new league plans to implement will surely draw attention.
Most notable is a running clock to keep the game moving: Instead of stopping the clock on incomplete passes and runs out of bounds, the clock will keep running, except in the last two minutes of the half. That should make games move faster.
“Fans want to minimize idle time and speed up the game,” said Sam Schwartzstein, the XFL’s director of operations, in a video explaining the XFL’s rules. “We look at the play clock as one of the big things we want to change. Fans want more plays — less stall, more ball.”
To ensure the offense can line up quickly and start the next play, the XFL plans to have designated ball spotters who will spot the ball immediately after a play ends, taking that responsibility out of the referees’ hands.
Other changes the XFL is planning include a revamped kickoff that requires the kicking team to wait until the receiving team has caught the ball before running downfield, a punt rule modeled off the CFL’s requirement that returners get at least five yards of space to field the ball, and tiered extra points that do away with kicks entirely and allow the offense to score one point from the 2-yard line, two points from the 5-yard line or three points from the 15-yard line.
The XFL is working with a community college football team that has practiced under some of the XFL’s proposed rules, to see how it plays out with real players on the field. Based on the video the XFL has released, it looks promising.
Sounds interesting.

Mixed bag on the XFL teams. I think I would like the Houston Roughnecks a lot better if we had Dallas' colors, I mean I dig the homage to the Oilers but how did Dallas get our baby blue? WTF? LA Wildcats... eek New York Guardians is pretty fucking dope, that's probably my favorite.

A lot of people are hating on the Roughnecks logo but I really like it, though I agree - different color scheme please. The rest are garbage. The original teams had better names in my opinion, which is not good lol. I get they're targeting big media markets, but I still think they should have or will need to focus on metropolitan areas without any representation in pro football. San Antonio or Austin should have had a team instead of Dallas; pro football in Columbus could have been huge. No San Diego? I think it will fare better than the AAF but it's hard to foresee it becoming a minor league to the NFL. 2-3 years tops, but I would love to have consistent spring football so im not rooting against it. Go Dragons. 🐉

I never cheer for St Louis but one Midwest team? An LA team? I don’t understand these picks for cities. I would have bet the farm on Chicago getting a team.

I can't understand why they wouldn't put the Vipers in STL, Orton's hometown. Screw separation, I want inside references.

The base salary of a non QB in the XFL will be $27,000 for a 10 game season. There are active roster bonuses and winning bonuses but if you’re on a 5-5 team you’ll top out at less than $60,000.
Ouch.

Yeah and one of the "draft picks" already left the league after hearing about the salary. Says that he makes more money at his tech job. Lol.

I've always thought pro athletes make way too much money, but I do understand you've gotta pay them more than what they can pull down at a job that doesn't destroy their body.
Like, at least match the NFL's minimum, right?

Like, at least match the NFL's minimum, right? There’s no way they could or should do that. It’s not the NFL; there’s no reason to try and compete salary-wise. I don’t have a problem with their payout system. If the league is a success, it will grow. Most talent should treat this as a tryout for the NFL anyways.

If anything, this should promote the CFL as that place for tryouts.
