Disney apologized for hiring saying none of his shit came up on the background check.  Background checks are not social media checks, and Joseph Meehan was not associated with any of the shit that Joey Ryan was.

And yeah it is stupid that people drag wrestlers for working other jobs when 90% of wrestlers cannot live off wrestling cash alone and everyone knows it.

Has there ever been a promotion that has tanked itself faster than the NWA? They were riding a massive wave of goodwill back in 2019 by launching a fun alternative product, but it turns out a lot of that was just lucking into a roster full of talented, hungry wrestlers in the right place at the right time. Since then it's just been Billy Corgan making horrible decision after horrible decision, a true la reveal magnifico as a total bum who never had a fucking clue.

Not sure if the loss of E-LI DRAKE or the introduction of Planet Tyrus was the killer shot. Probably the latter. Not even NWA Empower could save the ship.

I think the Cornette firing lost a lot of audience, more so with how Lagana who already had tons of heat handled that and all. 

Billy Corgan is a QANON or whatever, he just likes to have people of his hivemind on board.

On top of that I think moving from being free on YouTube to a paid subscription on Fite TV killed a lot of the goodwill it had with fans. YouTube comments were filled with people saying they wouldn’t watch etc. I know they need to make money but understandably people didn’t want yet another subscription .

It’s a hybrid now, you can watch it as it airs on Fite TV paid or much later in the week on YouTube but I feel the damage was
done.

The NWA roster just looks like an episode of WWE Superstars from sometime between 2003-2008.

Damien Sandow, Chris Masters, Zack Ryder, Melina, Elijah Burke, DH Smith, Rodney Mack, Tiffany, Mike Knox - no one wanted to see most of these people 15 years ago, let alone now.

Then throw in the ex-TNA people WWE or AEW clearly don't want (Bram, Crimson, Magnus, Angelina Love) and you've got one of the most unappealing rosters ever.

CYN is crap, but at least it tried something different (even if it's crap) - NWA is just a tribute act to 2007.

What the fuck did Murdoch do to get like blackballed from the big feds? Like did I seriously miss something? He was not bad in WWE or TNA, but it seems for the last decade he has been really solid but utterly ignored by the big feds who seem to want nothing to do with him.

Not sure how much of a shoot it was, but if you'd been watching NWA Powerrr in its dying days of being at least still decent, Big Trev cut a promo explaining where it sounded like he'd kinda stepped away from the business for a bit (can't recall if triggered by Lance Cade suicide) and it wasn't until Nick Aldis persisted in reaching out through their Harley Race training connection to get Murdoch back in the game as a favor to Slick Nick. Trevor might've been helping with Harley's school/territory for a bit in the meantime too, I think?

May have been wanting distance from Marty Scrull, who was working with NWA when the accusations broke. They did use some of the talent, but they def should have used a lot more.

Hope we see Murdoch back in a big fed. He is a much different wrestler now. And yeah believe he is keeping the Race legacy alive now at the HRWA.

He did retire for a year in 2018 but it did not stick. NWA asked him to work for them, and he could not pass up a shot to work for the feds, even if it is a shadow of what it once was.

It seemed pretty apparent that Tony never really liked working with Billy, and the Empower situation was the straw that broke the camel's back. Corgan recently (unwittingly?) admitted what TK said was true by saying they won't do another Empower because it's not financially viable.

I don't care for the NWA too much these days but the pandemic killed any momentum it had. I'm not sure Billy is to blame given the state of the roster & fanbase losing interest because of that. Half the roster doesn't belong on TV but what are the options?

Sounds like Braun is leaving this group and returning to WWE. If that is the case their biggest star is basically Aries and that is just sad.
