We are just a few minutes away from the newest Pokemon Presents. While it's not a Nintendo Direct, I figured it couldn't hurt to give the event its own thread. It should be starting any minute now.

- The presentation kicks off with an update with Pokémon Go, that being Pokémon from Sun and Moon (generation seven) will be introduced starting March 1st.
- Some news on the Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl games, nothing big but it gives me a reason to pop the game back into my Switch.
- Pokémon Legends: Arceus getting a free update called Daybreak, avaliable today. Also an anime coming out later this year, based off of the region.
- There was some other stuff for Pokémon EX, Pokémon Unite and Pokémon Cafe but I have no interest in that stuff.
- The biggest news out of this presentation, a pair of New games being announced called Pokémon Scarlett and Pokémon Violet.
- I'll admit, I was kinda disappointed that they didn't give any new info on Detective Pikachu 2, I actually thought they were going that way with the security guard (or whatever), before announcing that it was for Pokémon Scarlett and Pokémon Violet.

Blindy, hahaha yeah it does look like a Mario villain, the kind you would find in Super Mario World. Also, I won't judge the starters yet, but the grass one just makes me think of a grass type version of Litten. The real question is, will we end up getting any new Eeveelutions with these new games?

Yes the dino rhinos from Super Mario World It's a combination of them and that lava dinosaur that comes out and can 1 shot you.

I'm happy that the Alolan mons are dropping right away. It'll be interesting to see if Niantic just roll them all out and let's everyone goes nuts or if they'll be dolled out and you can only get eight spawns to start off with. I was looking through the data and if their move-sets are good, the Ultra Beasts are going to be the big ticket item, especially for raids.
No surprise to see Oak's Letter being released on BD/SP. I missed this when Platinum came out so it'll be a fun thing to do in-game. One of the key reasons I bought Shining Pearl was so I could have access to these limited time Pokemon.
I almost thought they were going to drop the DLC for Legends Arceus. If there's one game that actually needs DLC, that's it so I hope something is announced around E3. It's such an easy thing to get customers excited about. Introduce a few more Hisuean forms, a new quest line and a stack of returning monster and you can charge another $30 (or get people to sign up to the Expansion Pass).
I was pleasantly surprised when they announced Generation 9. It was time, but I thought Legends may have been a way to tide fans over until 2023. Not a whole lot to go on so far but it does appear that there will be more expansive areas with plenty of Pokemon populating the area which is what fans want. I just hope they focus more on the adventure side of things. Generation 8 really wanted to show off their dynamax feature and made the gym battles the central focus. I hope now that they've got that out of their system, we get more of an open experience with Metroidvania like elements. Pokemon has always been more about the destination than the actual battle system which in-game is very simple.
Now I hope they don't release Breath of the Wild 2 until March of 2023. With Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Bayonetta 3 and now Pokemon Violet imminent I don't know where I'd find the time.
As far as the apple dino, you can have him, me and smug duck are going to wipe the floor with all you.
Smell you later!

Quax may be the first time in a while where I don't side with a fire.

A lot of people saying the Duck might go a Don Quixote type of swag transformation given the Spanish setting and all. Interesting. The Fire Coconut Alligator looks awesome though, last time I rode with a Alligator/Crocodile starter, I had Feraliagtr who stood on my Gen 2 team all the way through.

I find it strange that one of the most creative video game universes recycles the tired old Fire/Grass/Water starters every generation. What's the problem with having different types as starters?
