I'm surprised Banjo stayed in the pool for so long. I had no intention of drafting it after grabbing OoT but it's a VG staple. Symphony of the Night was originally going to be my third pick, especially since I wanted to avoid going all-in on Nintendo but the intro to Super Metroid was just too good to ignore.

With Sonic 2 off the table there's no point in drafting anything from Sega as they didn't make anything worth a damn after that... Altered Beast says hi. I think I misread that, as Sonic 2 being the only good thing Sega has ever done. Still though, Altered Beast is awesome.

I considered drafting VII but thought it'd be a dick move. IX and X were thereabouts but I wanted to represent other series on my list and I know turn based RPGs aren't everyone's cup of tea. So the one JRPG I went for was a more casual one and since everyone was drafting Mario, I thought I'd jump on board with the Paper Mario spin-off.

Not just talking about FF7, I can understand why people avoided that (although I wouldn't have minded), but normally FF6, FF9, FFX are popular choices. Not like people avoided RPGs either. Earthbound and Chrono Trigger were drafted. It's kinda interesting.

I must say the lack of Final Fantasy drafting disappoints me greatly. I wanted to reveal this after I saw how well I did but all maybe near all video game character contest finals come down to some combination of three people: Mario, Link, and Cloud. So I wanted to see if I could win without using a Mario, Final Fantasy, or a Zelda. Most final fantasy games are great picks. And while FF14 isn't as popular here I currently have hundreds of hours in it. It is the reason I haven't played Elden Ring and Forbidden West yet.

Now some of these are deceptive. Like Golden Eye I played the multiplayer like one or two rounds in college late at night. I played two songs on Guitar Hero. And some games that I watch friends play I may have played for less then ten minutes like Metroid Prime and SotN but don't really remember.

Bold are the games I have never played, half bold means I played but never finished it. As you can see Western style games are unexplored waters for me, we will get to them some day. Emperor , yes Impossible Lair is the sequel to the first game. And it blows the original out of the water, if you have to play one of the two, go with Impossible Lair. Very DKC Returns & Tropical Freeze inspired. Final level is well.....an impossible lair. Very hair pulling but so satisfying to beat.
