No point in delaying the inevitable. The big talk this weekend is AEW Revolution. The go-home shows are done, the matches are set, so let’s discuss! Big ups to Lony for starting an AEW prediction series. Head to that thread for the full card and make your picks! pwcom.proboards.com/thread/4803/aew-revolution-2022-predictions-threadThis card is sure to deliver some great matches, and hopefully we’ll get a surprise or two along the way. EDIT: I just realized Cody is front and centre on the picture I stole from Lony’s thread. I’m leaving it.

Yeah, I noticed Cody on the poster as well, thought it was funny, but still went with it since as far as I know it's the official poster. Anyways yeah, this is looking to be a great show (which let's face it is usually the case with AEW PPV's), but for me the match I'm looking forward to the most is CM Punk/MJF, as I feel the build has been great and if their last match was any indication they'll absolutely deliver. Both Britt Baker/Thunder Rosa and Adam Page/Adam Cole should be bangers as well, although if I'm being honest the build to the AEW heavyweight championship has been a bit lackluster, still though I have little doubt that the match should deliver.
Honestly, I don't necessarily think there's a bad match on the main show, outside of maybe Jade Cargill/Tay Conti, but as someone who enjoys that bitch, I'm hoping they still put on a good showing.

This will be the first AEW event I’ve seen since I decided to ditch all wrestling TV to avoid burnout. I’m excited by the idea of laying fresh eyes on all of this, and while I’m not so excited about the card, there is more than enough for a good show.
Question - why is Malakai Black’s stable on the pre-show? I’ve been reading fans are happier with his position and booking in AEW compared to the last place he worked, but apparently he can’t get on the main show and Matt Harry’s group can? Interesting.
I’m actually quite excited for Jericho/Kingston. I see it working and predict chemistry for them. Punk/MJF and Bryan/Moxley will be great. Hopefully the rest will be good, you know they have the same problem WWE has in that they have their big stars and the rest is not that interesting to me. But I know they’ll give every match time and let them have the chance to steal the show, so that’s a bonus with AEW. Just don’t have the matches be too repetitive and this should be really good. Oh and if Adam Cole wins expect a rant from me at some point Monday.

Oh and if Adam Cole wins expect a rant from me at some point Monday. I'm assuming the Trios match is on the main card for two reasons: the TNT champ is involved, and they want Matt Hardy front and centre in a big tag team feud for when Jeff Hardy shows up. They've already announced a bunch of indie dates for The Hardy Boyz and Jeff is free to show up as early as this Wednesday, so I'd expect HFO to implode in some capacity and Matt to rejoin his brother for one last ride. They usually stick a somewhat decent mid-card match on the Buy-In to grab people's attention before the show. I remember Adam Page vs. Brian Cage being one that ended up being a pretty good bout. I don't remember the prelim match for Full Gear but the one for All Out was a super fun 10-man tag team match (that Matt Hardy was in, strangely enough) and The Butcher returned. I do think House of Black deserves to be on the main card, but it's also not the end of the world. Means Tony wants them grabbing the eyes of everyone on the fence about buying the show. I don't want Adam Cole to win either but I think he's going to. I think Cole and ReDragon are dripping in gold come Wednesday, and The Young Bucks find themselves on the outside looking in, setting the stage for Omega's return.

Absolutely stacked card, every match means something and has a story behind it. Very little filler. All time great feud in CM Punk vs MJF. Great feuds in Jericho vs Kingston and Moxley vs Danielson. Championship matches all have credible challengers who could believably win the title. Face of the Revolution match is a rare multi-man clusterfuck match that I'm looking forward to seeing, lots of great talent there with several potential winners.
How did Erick Redbeard get involved? Did I miss something?

Oh and if Adam Cole wins expect a rant from me at some point Monday. Pretty sure the plan was to do Death Triangle vs House of Black, but Fenix fucked up his arm and messed up that plan so they got moved to the pre-show and Fenix replaced to save the actual match for a future PPV. And yeah, even if you do not like most of AEW, Jericho vs Kingston, Punk vs MJF and Bryan vs Moxley should be good. Cole vs Page should be really good as well. Their little interactions in the ring so far have been very interesting as their moves line up so well together. Jericho vs Kingston could be very, very stiff. Kingston wants to see the Lionheart of the WAR era in AEW. Very likely will be a Japanese style match, since Eddie is obsessed with Kings Road era wrestling. Punk vs MJF will be a gimmick filled bloodbath. No clue where the hell Moxley and Bryan are going. Hard to tell with Mox, either will be Mox showing off his technical skills, or a deathmatch brawl without the deathmatch gimmicks. Mox when he is on is very hard to predict since he is creative but really out there.

Good match to sell people on the PPV as it is a bunch of guys they seen elsewhere.

You know you're in for a big show, when there are THREE Buy-In matches.

It is gonna be a long slog, and I actually want to watch most of the matches which is rare for a card with so many contests. Definitely won't watch it in one sitting, I get burnt out on wrestling far too easily these days. May take two or even three sessions.

Sounds like we are in for a few debuts tonight!!!
Hearing Swerve is confirmed, and it is very likely this will be the long await return of CODY and Brandi to AEW!!!
There is history between Cody, Cole and Page too. Be hilarious if the Dark Order rules out all of the Super Elite, Page pins Cole then Cody lays out Page after the match. Then on dynomite cuts a promo acting like he has been gone for years and the fed went to hell and then calls out Page to face him in a real fed and come to Supercard of Honor.

If by hilarious you mean super dumb and boring then sure. Had a feeling Swerve was going to pop up tonight. Not surprising considering they announced his signing a week ago. I hope instead of another new debut we get a return. I want to see Miro show up and kick the shit out of someone.

Miro is likely out for 6 more months at least. He was dealing with a fucked up hamstring for a long time and just working through it. Hopefully he got surgery to fix what was up and is just at home resting up. I know the dirt sheets keep demanding he travels to stay on TV but would rather him get well, then come back and destroy people. Details of the injury have not been given sadly, but seems like a partial tear that he then did two matches with, which means 9 months.
Not sure where people pop up. Like it makes no sense for them to just run out and screw people if they are not aligning, and not really many places to align tonight. Unless, Swerve is joining Team Taz. I do expect to see Athena though if not tonight then Weds. She wrestled Thunder on her return to the indies, and is someone that can really spice up AEW. She could be Britt's ace in the hole to beat Thunder tonight.

For those that are unfamiliar with RJ City, he has been doing skits with various wrestlers. He’s a wrestler from Toronto and he’s very funny and does great improv and character work. He was on WWE The Bump for a while. Not sure if he still does that.
Here’s his skit with Danhausen. He’s also done skits with Ricky Starks and Orange Cassidy. All are worth checking out.

I really want to like Layla Hirsch but I swear every time I see her wrestle she looks uncoordinated and weird. She was brought in through the CZW dojo. She needs polish for sure, but she has the skills. Also she does the Hyde thing of making moves not look to crisp as people think clean looking moves do not hurt. Make the moves look a little awkward and people start to believe they hurt.
