This is a pretty close match up, as far I'm concerned. Both @ness and CM Punk'd are sitting at five games a piece that I've played before. For Ness it's... Super Mario Bros. 3 Kingdom Hearts Mario Kart 64 Earthbound Super Mario Galaxy For CM Punk'd it's... Donkey Kong Country Grand Theft Auto V Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Banjo-Kazooie Metroid Prime All great games, both Mario Bros. 3 and Galaxy are fantastic, however, you've got both Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie to balance it out. Mario Kart 64 is alright, but if I was gonna take a Mario Kart game this wouldn't be it, at least CM Punk'd went with the best choice for Smash Bros.

Let's see...
Ness
Super Mario Bros 3 - The best 2D Mario in the series. It has the best worlds and the level design is much tighter here than what would follow. Also love the stage play aesthetic and the music. World 1 Overtheme Music is hard to beat in terms of Mario music. Red Dead Redemption 2 - The best open world, let down by a pretty underwhelming main campaign. Great story, but the gameplay suffers as a result with so much control taken away from the player. Kingdom Hearts - More style than substance, KH takes forever to get going and while it leaves you wanting more there's some definite jank here. I do love the Metroidvania elements as well as how they incorporated Disney IPs into JRPG mechanics. Mario Kart 64 - Best presentation of the series with each race given some gravitas instead of the cartoony balogne that would follow. However the long tracks and hardware limitations hold it back. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - It felt like the biggest challenge of this game was figuring out where to go. I still haven't 100%'d it yet, especially when the progression system is so vague. Earthbound - Love the imagination of the game and how zany the world is. Essentially has what I want in a JRPG, a wonderful world to explore filled with interesting characters to explore. It's only held back by it's fairly primitative mechanics. Shovel Knight - It managed to be more than just a throwback game by creating a range of charming characters and incorporating a nice risk/reward system that added an extra set of stakes to very familiar platforming scenarios. Super Mario Galaxy - It was really nice to hear Mario with an orchestral score. Otherwise I wasn't a fan of the linear style of gameplay. Felt like I was playing Ratchet & Clank instead of a Mario. CM Punk'dDonkey Kong Country - It's the easiest DKC for me to bounce into thanks largely to the breezy few worlds that are just enjoyable to run through. It does get janky later on and some of the industrial levels are just unfair with some trial/error platforming. A good first attempt, just needed some more time in the oven. Tetris Effect - Haven't played. Heard it's the definitive Tetris game which is cool but if I was a kid and this was my big Christmas game, you'd have to give me an Academy Award to be excited for it. Everybody enjoys Tetris, but I'm not hyped on it. Grand Theft Auto V - Felt like a step in the right direction after how dull IV was. I wish the world was more interactable and I wasn't a fan of the online component which was the big selling point. Super Smash Bros Ultimate - I still think Melee when I think of the series, but hard to argue that Ultimate isn't the definitive edition. It was really cool to see Nintendo finally fulfill some wishes and give fans characters like Ridley, King K. Rool and Banjo & Kazooie to mess around with. Horizon Zero Dawn - One of the best IPs to come out of last generation and laying traps to take down dino mechs was really enjoyable. I remember being pretty underwhelmed with the story and some of the corner cutting, otherwise a strong release. Banjo Kazooie - The key to the game is that collecting things feels good and barely any of the worlds drag. It sticks to the classics in terms of world design but adds enough charm for them to stick out and the levels build up nicely and it has a nice second wind starting with Freezeezy Peak. Just like DKC, the presentation is top notch and it's just a joy to play through. Doom Eternal - Still haven't played the 2016 revival, but I really enjoyed how balls to the wall the game was. The whole 'a good defence is a good offence' made mowing through each enemy forces intense but enjoyable and the score is fantastic as well. I need to replay it, but my only gripe was some of platforming sections. It felt like they were thrown in but not really made enjoyable. Metroid Prime - I still think of the Phazon Mines every so often. The game does a wonderful job of immersing you in it's world and to this day sticks out as one of the best FPS games. The second (maybe third including Melee) best game on the GameCube.

CM Punk'd doesn't have any games I'm especially excited about. My favourite is Doom Eternal, not actually played that but if it's anything like the Doom reboot it's sure to be a hell of a lot of fun. Besides that, not much to write home about. Meanwhile @ness has Kingdom Hearts and Shovel Knight, both incredible. I'm not massive on the Super Mario games but SMB3 is certainly a masterpiece in 2D platforming. As a whole I could pick up any game from Ness' roster and have a great time, while not so much with CM Punk'd's lineup.

The only thing I played, beat, and enjoyed from Ness list was SMB3. And I have to state both beat and enjoyed because I have beat games I didn't enjoy out of spite. RDR2 looks amazing but it just takes to long to get into it. I get ready to play it try to do something and I move on to something else that can get me invested faster. I have seen friends play a little bit of Kingdom Hearts and SOTN but never played them myself. The other stuff I never played. I know it is just me being weird but the mostly joke list from last time had more games I played and enjoyed.
I do think SMB3 is a more enjoyable platform then DKC. But it was a good game. I assume Tetris effect is tetris with more colors. GTA5 was very enjoyable even more so after the mess GTA4 was. Zero Dawn was amazing. Banjo-Kazooie was good but I never went to replay it like I would Mario 64. Doom Eternal tried the demo didn't like it. Saw a friend play a little Metroid Prime. Never played Smash any of them.

Both lists have a great selection with all genres considered, Super Mario Galaxy is incredible and each game is a landmark in their genre.
CM Punk’d for the win with the hat trick of GTA V, Banjo and a DKC game is always going to get my vote but it’s a 3.1 roll up victory

When did the Yankees become the Benedict Arnolds of voting? Seriously beginning to suspect KING KID voted Biden just because he thought Trump had it in the bag and felt bad for the old timer.

Shoulda drafted Mario World 2 because Yoshi would whip mario's ass. We meed a gritty Snyder cut of Yoshi becoming a fucking man and tell Mario to suck it.
Like if Boshi was taken seriously. That's where Okada's inspiration comes from... Mario RPG.
I have a lot of good memories of MK64, much more than wii and 8. Toad's Turnpike. Street racing. Mario is a gangsta.
Wasn't gonna draft Earthbound but xzero having me as the 8th pick reminded me it existed. THE LEGEND of that game before SSB really put it over as this hidden gem to me and my friend. The closest I'd ever come to being a hipster.
Punkd I know a lot of his have quality or are "names" but I haven't played a good chunk like ZD and GTA.

Wasn't gonna draft Earthbound but xzero having me as the 8th pick reminded me it existed. Either I'm getting hit by deja vu or you made this comment somewhere else before. I've read it twice and still don't understand it, so explain it to me like I'm five years old.

When lony put our the order/picks on the main page before we started I (my name) was mistakenly in xzero's 8th spot (likely just didn't hit enter right) and so it reminded me of Earthbound.
