I prefer the variety on Emperor's list, Lony triple downing on 2D platformers was a worthwhile strategy but not for me. The second half of the list nearly got me to change my mind though, everything from BOTW on is right up my alley (suck it @ness and System).

Someone explain the numbahs to me. Is like the first colossi just the intro stage? Why is 3 unbelievable? One is pretty much a given if you make it to it. The second one isn't that hard to find but requires a little effort to figure out. The third one is in the middle of nowhere on a floating island that requires platforming to get up to if you can locate it, and had some type of special trick to fight it.

"if you can locate it" So it's one of those "where the fuck do I go?!?" games? Exactly. You're in a big open world and you have search the vast, empty landscape for the next Colossus. Your only guide is a beam of light that points in a straight line towards the goal. It's a really cool concept, but I appreciate it's not for everyone.

I don't remember getting lost too often because the beam of light would typically point you to an entrance of a dungeon or to a wall or a small crevese to squeeze through. There's no real signs or markings to make it really obvious but it's simple enough to infer. I can really only remember getting lost once and from memory it was one of those 'You can just walk over it' AVGN style revelations.
It's not so much 'where do I go' but 'what do I do' type of games because some of the colossus you have to play a game of cat and mouse with first before you can attack them. I considered making a thread discussing it, but a movie critique channel YMS just addressed a criticism about reviewing movies after only watching the first 15 minutes. I feel like with certain games you really have to be in for the long haul to get an accurate gauge. Especially if you're going down the overrated route (I enjoyed it, but it was overrated) beause some games really step it up several notches later (DKC2, Nier Automata, Kingdom Hearts come straight to mind).
