Don't totally get it from a team that was in the finals this past year and not that far off, unless they realize they were lucky to make it past Milwaukee because of injuries and don't have the squad going forward.

No he's not.   Great players are great players, regardless of generation.   People were spouting that shit in the 80's and 90's too, and it was bullshit back then as well.  Wilt proved that point when he kicked Magic's ass 1v1 when he was 40+ years old.

What rules are we playing by? That’s really what matters as they are two completely different styles and leagues that these guys are accustomed to.

I don’t think there’s any question that a lot of old school players would struggle immensely in todays game with how open it is and just how skilled the players are. Some would flourish but others would get ran off the court like you see with so many traditional bugs the last decade.

At the same time so many of todays players would struggle with the physicality and congestion of the past eras and different rules.

I think there is zero question the league is deeper now than ever talent wise though. All due respect to a Mitch Richmond or Latrell Sprewell but they wouldn’t crack the Top 20-30 or best players in the NBA today.

I think it’s more interesting to see what would happen if some legends played today. Someone like Hakeem or Robinson would be really interesting 5’s in todays game with their athletic ability.

Someone like Rodman would be a defense terror but would have to develop some type of offense or shot or he’d become barely playable down the stretch because you simply can’t play 4 vs 5 on offense in todays game.


Shaq would be a really interesting one as well. He would be near impossible offensively unless they hacked the hell out of him but he would be brutal caught in switches.

Reddick’s comment was that the league was different now, that Bob Cousy couldn’t go left (and by default didn’t have to) that the majority of the players he was against weren’t great, and that to say Cousy was better than Chris Paul is off. If you want to say “you can’t compare them because the game was different then”, that’s fine. But there’s no real doubt that Chris Paul is playing better in a considerably more difficult league than Bob Cousy and no part of Jerry West saying that JJ averaged 12 ppg changes that.

That's a terrible deal by Utah, they wanted the Knicks to overpay so they take that package by Cleveland for the sake of. Sexton is recovering off injury, Markkanen is limited and the 3 unprotected are great but if the Knicks were offering Barrett and 2 unprotected, that would have been the better move.

That's ridiculous that Udoka can get suspended the entire year over having a relationship with a female staff member. Is it scummy to cheat behind his wife? Yeah. But cmon a full year suspension for this? Unless this was rape or over the top sexual harassment, this is ridiculous.

Just say Udoka didn't get along with Celtics brass and that's it. Using this to either try and get out of his contract or to suspend him for a full year is ridiculous.

If there’s corporate policy against supervisor-employee relationships and reporting requirements, etc. I dont blame the Celtics. Get out in front of it, discipline the people responsible, avoid the mess.
