So the ROH belt on AEW? I bet Emperor likes this boring looking Suzuki fellow. Suzuki is probably the most over NJPW guy outside of Japan. Personally I'm not a massive fan but he's found his niche and he's great at it. He has a huge reputation as a super tough, sadistic guy, so he's often booked as a gatekeeper. For this style there is no one better than his crazy ass. I remember my friend taking a couple of these chops and him oozing blood and goo for a week afterward. Night after he did the match his chest was fucking black. Had to make calls to figure out if he needed to go to the ER or not.

This is the dumbest match/crowd/commentary ever. Hopefully the main event is better. This is the main event Well that’s a shame. Damn. Well the tag match was fun at least. And the beat down backstage was alright. The six man and stuff though… meh. And this match is just not good.

I literally didn’t come here to shit on AEW , I was bored and looking to give it a shot. Just seems I missed most of the appealing stuff. There’s always next week.

Well that’s a shame. Damn. Well the tag match was fun at least. And the beat down backstage was alright. The six man and stuff though… meh. And this match is just not good. CM Punk opened the show against Penta Oscuro and it was very good. That was followed up by the tag team title match which was also very good. If you want to see the crowd actually boo someone go back and watch MJF’s match. They hate him, as does everyone. And they lost their minds when Wardlow showed up. You’ve caught the weakest portion of the show (minus the tag match, it was pretty good and Starks getting the hometown rub was nice to see) and while we disagree on the main event I know matches like this aren’t for everyone. If they were NJPW would be the biggest company on the planet. Glad you popped in though. Always fun when someone new gives AEW a shot.

Tomorrow both guys will have like black chests from that match. Some love it, others think it is stupid to go so hard, when you can get sell moves that do not hurt for a better effect.

The crowd was into it but it came off incredibly hokey to me. They were into it because that's what Suzuki does, the crowd expect it and love it. I feel Suzuki has jumped the shark, he's almost becoming a parody of himself, he used to be a lot more versatile. But he's getting older and I think he's content to just job out and make guys look good in the process. He also helped form Danielson's tough guy persona in AEW.

AEW usually front loads there shows to may hook people from the start, and usually it will only go down from there. There are a few exceptions like last week were the main event was amazing.

He put Joe over hardcore here. Joe looks a little rough, but this kind of sold Joe as still very, very relevant. Hope he gets his ring legs back like Punk did. Punk was hella impressive tonight keeping pace with Penta.

Glad you popped in though. Always fun when someone new gives AEW a shot. Tag me next time an episode features an FTR match. I did tell c I'd give AEW a(nother) shot over Wrestlemania weekend and Big Pete also wants me to watch an episode of Dynamite. Actually tried watching tonight but the streaming site I used for Wrestlemania weekend wasn't cooperating.

IIRC (and I can't find an interview at the moment) no less than a Bret Hart hates that kind of stuff, he's from the school of thought where the magician's act of wrestling comes from making it look like it hurts when it doesn't, as opposed to strong style where they make it look like it hurts by legit slapping the shit out of each other
