For some context:
Vasilevskiy vs Florida - .975 save %, 3 goals allowed in 4 games.
Vasilevskiy vs Toronto - .897 save %, 14 goals allowed in first 4 games.

Toronto scored more goals in Game 1 than Florida did all series. They averaged 3.43 goals against them in 7 games.

I feel less upset about the Leafs losing to Tampa but more upset that if they somehow managed to get by them they also would have kicked the shit out of Florida. Another missed opportunity.

In my opinion, this is all setting up for a pretty dope Stanley Cup between Tampa and Colorado in a Defense vs Offense battle.

At least that’s what it looks like to me and I’m a per diem hockey watcher.

The Flames just tied the game as a result of a knuckler from about 150 feet away.

Rangers played their most complete game of the playoffs tonight, easily the closest to a 60 minute performance they've managed so far, and a rare stress free victory. I think Carolina made a massive mistake when they tried to get rough at the end of Game 3, Reaves was a significant factor tonight and Domi backing off from him was hilarious. They've played right into his hands.

Johnny Hockey sucks. I'm also shocked Calgary didn't tie this series. Crazy that the Oilers are up 3-1, although by star power alone, I'd be really excited for an Oilers/Avalanche WCF.

Calgary are the Leafs of the west: tons of talent, choke in the playoffs. Happens every year.

Edmonton is good, don’t get me wrong, but this series should not be 3-1 right now. You come back from 3-0 down and then immediately hand the game back? Garbage.

Calgary/Colorado would be the better series imo but Markstrom has fallen off so I don’t know. The way he’s playing even if Calgary somehow pulls this off I think Colorado would cave them in anyway.

Carolina is a completely different prospect on their home ice, they're back to smothering our offence again tonight just as they did in the first couple of games. Rangers only have 10 shots on goal through two periods! The silver lining is that they're only trailing by one even though the Canes have had a number of good looks and odd-man rushes thanks to some sloppy NY turnovers.

Hard to reconcile what happened tonight compared to the previous game. Carolina obviously deserve a lot of credit for completely suffocating the game, the Staal line is a killer for Zibanejad and Kreider, but man the Rangers just couldn't do anything. They looked slow and soft, and the lack of adjustments to counter the aggressive defence was glaring, and highly frustrating. I don't really know why Kakko was stuck on the fourth line when the team was desperately struggling to retain any sort of puck possession.

Calgary got jobbed pretty badly on that overturned goal if you ask me. Based on some of the kick goals I've seen stand, there's no way that should have been wiped out - the puck was going in anyway, and it was much more of a pileup than any sort of deliberate kicking motion.

Yeah. Such a shame that a series like that ended the way it did.

If I’m a Flames fan I’m absolutely livid over that call. They were on their way to Game 6 and that bullshit happens.

Oilers are playing well but I can’t help but feel like Colorado is going to absolutely destroy them and we weren’t only robbed of a longer Battle of Alberta series but also a better series in Flames/Avalanche. Mike Smith is doing Mike Smith things again and the Avs are going to be like cats toying with their dinner in front of him. All they have to worry about is shutting down McDavid as best they can and the series is over.

Fun fact: Carolina is undefeated at home in this playoffs so far.

Other fun fact: they haven’t won on the road either.

I want a Game 7 between Carolina and NY so bad. I feel like it has the potential to be the best game of the playoffs so far.

Colorado seems to have the depth and veterans they were lacking in the past. Hattricks from Kadri and MacKinnon in the previous two games but it was the new guys like Helm, Cogliano and especially Manson who were standouts tonight. That save he made when Kuemper went flying like he was on a slip and slide was huge.

Edmonton/Colorado should be a great series.

I’m really hoping the Rangers pull it off now. Tampa/Carolina will just be a repeat of Tampa/Islanders. Smothering defensive team starts series strong, Tampa figures them out and wins anyway. Boo.

Give me lights out wild offence with the two best goalies in the league standing on their heads.

Colorado was the better team but MAN, St Louis made them earn every bit of this series.
