It'll be a good match. Finlay has improved a lot over the past couple years and had some great matches with Jay White last year. He's solid.

Perfect world, MJF wins the the royale and pins Mox. Then get on the phone at once with Punk and they plan a legendary MJF as a heel champ with no respect for the company run using the best stuff Punk did, customized for MJF and AEW. This is the right place and the right time to do it. Also Tony can recontract MJF right now to lock his ass down for 3 to 5 more years.

Dave Finley is one of the rare fourth generation wrestlers trained by the Finley clan. He getting pretty damn good and like will be one of the greats by the end of his career. He is Fit's Finley's son.  No doubt Regal is likely putting him over hardcore backstage due to their relationship.  Regal brought his dad in to roll with the NXT girls to teach them catch wrestling and backstage he was the one who pushed the hardest to let women actually wrestle instead doing cat fights.  The shit Becky is doing now is all Fit.  Becky vs K-Nox is like night and day.  K-Nox was good, Becky is great.  Hell Batista insisted it was Fit who inducted into the hall of fame as he feels no one did more for him than Fit.

So Dave being Fit's son is a guy that should instantly be on everyone's radar.  His legacy is that good.

It probably will but also one of the problems I see with the amount of stables. Pac seemed like a guy who was going to be around the main event scene at the start of AEW now his kind of just there. And seems like you could do a lot more with Buddy then hide him in a three man group.

Tony Khan announced on Busted Open Radio this morning that the battle royale to open the show will be the annual Casino Battle Royale, which means there will be a Joker entrant tonight.

Obviously with nobody announced yet they're all Jokers but I guess there will be one surprise entrant and potentially someone that isn't signed to AEW.

I know he's likely still hurt but it would be amazing if Kenny Omega returned tonight. I'm betting someone from NJPW though. Maybe KENTA? Jay White?

Buddy with Black is just good booking as Black will protect him and the three of them are just amazing together. And I do not see a problem with too many stables, as stables allow guys to be on TV for a reason, when they are not wrestling. And stable wars are an easy story to do that works well to build matches between PPVs. Instead of bunch of random 1 on 1 matches, we get things like Death Triangle vs House of Black. Were they can do a half a dozen matches of random subsets of the table, give us fresh matches and have them all connect to one big three on three. Ditto for things like Undisputed Elite, Jurassic Express, Team Taz, Gunn Club etc, Blackpool, JAS, the Baddie Section, Britt's Bitches, ect. It just simplifies booking a lot to have groups and allows you to actively use a larger roster. CHIKARA showed this clearly and Tony is learning from them.

Joker card is interesting tonight as Claudio should be up for debuting sooner or later.  I assume he does want to wrestle again and if he does it will be for AEW.

CHIKARA had almost their entire roster in stables and if you look at the AEW roster, a ton of them were CHIKARA before AEW.

CHIKARA was truly one of the kind for their commitment to the style. And people loved working there as it was laid back, no pressure wrestling, that encouraged them to have fun. X-Pac loved the fed after that insane reaction he got coming in as 1-2-3 Kid after the years of abusing his body with drugs. Can see how shook he was after his match with Sami. He did not expect this reaction at all.  Gone now but before the show he he gave an incredible backstage speech to the roster as well thanking them for even giving him another chance.

Interesting that there haven't been any more matches announced. Either we're getting a really long battle royale to kick off the show, or there's going to be like 3 announcements right before the show starts.

Scorpio Sky's not bad a bad hand, and I don't mind him as TNT champion. Having said that, a TNT title scene with Daniel Garcia, Swerve Strickland, Ricky Starks, Buddy Murphy, PAC, hell even Darby Allin back in there, would be so much better.

Casino Battle Royale rules. They enter in groups of 5. One group starts the match, then the other 3 groups join as the match goes on. There's Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts, Spades and then a Joker Card at the end.
