Tony Khan in recent interviews said he wants to open the ultimate forbidden door and do a joint show with WWE. I know people will jump and say it is stupid because WWE is such a big company they should not work with the bush leagues, but this would be a great chance to have WWE guys fight former WWE guys and give WWE some great matches. For guys like Roman who beat everyone gives fresh opponents, and after the match, there is no cleanup, so can go all in on the one time event without caring about how the loser looks during the fallout. Also be a great way for WWE to show AEW talent, hey we are not bad to work for.
Will likely never happen since purists believe there is no wrestling outside of WWE and never was, but there is no reason at all wrestling cannot unite against sports to rise their overall perception, and profits.
I mean, could you imagine a Royal Rumble were any talent, anywhere in the world could appear? It would be cannot miss TV for all fans. I mean if Naito were to come out as number 2 people would lose their fucking minds.

Tony may pitch it to WWE. Ball is in their court. The one thing that could make this happen is AEW has enough ex-WWE guys to do it as a WWE show.
With HHH back, could be a chance for WWE to get Punk, DB and Jericho back for a show.

Didn't seem like a ton of talent was itching to get to that first door.

Tony Khan has spent the past couple of years calling WWE "the enemy", having (or allowing at least) his wrestlers make regular "WWE bad lol" comments in promos/interviews, naming one of his gimmick matches after something Vince said once, making nonsense tweets about WWE...
...and now he wants to do a show with them.
Is this like some schoolyard thing where you're mean to a girl because you've secretly got a crush on them?

Tony lent WWE talent that they requested on a few occasions. There is a working relationship forming.

WWE’s whole marketing ideology is that they’re bigger and better than everywhere else. That alone is a huge stumbling block in doing any kind of crossover with another company. This will happen only when it makes sense for WWE, which is when AEW is as popular as WWE is. Which is probably never.

This would happen frequently if Mr. H was in charge I'm sure, but clearly the other Kahn red wedding'd his ass.

But this would be one way to prove it to fans. Not that they are bigger, but their guys are better than anyone else. I mean, if they did something this summer, it would be Roman beating Mox decisively. And that is a match that WWE could sell and excite their own fans promoting.
Also flesh the card a card out with Jericho, Miro, Christian, FTR, etc, bring back Taz and JR to commentate, and it is basically a WWE event not a crossover to WWE fans. AEW mine as well be a WWE b-fed like NXT to many.
Mixing these guys in would excite the fanbase much like Cody did when he returned. WWE got stale, so a yearly AEW crossover would be something that would excite people simply because the people for the rest of the year will be seperated. And at least at the start, it would be almost exclusively former WWE guys, or people WWE is interested in peeling away.
The sole hangup would be the egos involved about who is pinned. And these days, most of the roster does not even really care about taking the fall, but the bookers in interpromotional shit do get very pissy about it.

HHH and Steph are back and now they are trying to push Vince out, they need to suck up to them to lead (and convince Vince to go along with whatever they want so he does not do anything crazy with his board power). Ace is likely the sacrifice they will make to get the payment scandal to go away. They cannot punish Vince since he controls the board votes but Ace they can.

I don't know why we're even discussing this like it's a possibility. Tony's comments were in an interview where he was asked if he would ever work with the WWE. Of course he's going to say yes. They're the biggest wrestling promotion on planet Earth by a wide margin and have handed him some of AEW's biggest talents. What's he going to say? "Nah fuck them, I don't want worldwide exposure for my company that would potentially earn me millions of dollars."
The interviewer might as well have asked him if he would like to win the powerball lottery. This is so dumb.

Two weeks back people would have said the same about AEW contracted guys doing video promos for WWE TV.

No they don't. This is the internet era, if people are active, like Jericho, their phones are letting them know with the suggested content shit by plugging AEW and WWE together.

I'd never say never, if the WWE falls into another situation where they have a major shortage on talent, they may reach some type of agreement but I doubt it'll be some kind of super-show event. Just something like Jon Moxley vs. Roman Reigns @ Wrestlemania or something along those lines and it would be a complete and utter desperation move.
Otherwise, AEW needs to realise they don't need these cross-over events. Yes, they're cool events to do every once in awhile but there's so many politics involved you don't get the creative freedom you otherwise should. I hope in the coming weeks they can get themselves together and not focus too much on promoting ROH.

It won't happen for more then WWE wouldn't agree to it. But Tony cares a lot about his wrestlers feelings and most of their upper tier talents came from WWE. And had some bad experience on their way out. Neither Roman nor Omega probably are interesting in fighting each other. Omega and the Bucks will probably want to do a match with the New Day. Only plus side Mox might to get to do his bloody match with Brock. And Page might get the honor of losing to Roman.

The sheer size contrast between WWE's Champions and AEW's is quite dramatic, it would almost be laughable.
