Mordecai is a guy upon first viewing I was convinced couldn't fail lmao. You are far from alone. There'd be no dimes left outside Stamford if WWF had delivered on the planned Undertaker/Mordecai feud. Stupid bar fights...

Seems like MarkyD may have started a groundswell, here's Renee Dupree, Paul London and Charlie Haas on Mordecai
TL;DR they have a different version of events where Dave Lagana tried to make out with Mordecai and it led to a big altercation and both guys were punished as a result.
London worked with him on house shows and generally got along with him but there was one time London did a move off the second rope only for Mordecai to clothesline him right in the knees which took yers off his life.

Liz Savage also called out Dave Lagana. I know Liz, and def believe her in this. I also seen Liz's like emotional breakdown during this time that matches the timeline she gave.

Big Pete and @ness I watched the two videos you guys mentioned like an hour after they dropped. Still trying to figure out how Mordecai managed to clothesline London's knee  This was my first time hearing the "Lagana propositioned Mordecai" story. The barfight story had been making the rounds for a while as the reason why Mordecai's push was dropped.

A while back in another thread I mentioned never caring about Paul London in WWE despite being a big fan of his in ROH. Now I realize it's because WWE were cowards. We could have had Poseidon London! And why not? We've had a Zeus, an Ares, and multiple Athenas. Poseidon Paul wielding his trident and yelling at main eventers would have been money....or at least Baker dimes. It's also a shame London's eccentricities didn't come out on camera until later in his career.

Not necessarily Pro Wrestling, but Pro Wrestling adjacent - I just came across Napoleon Blownapart's videos and his retrospectives on The Ultimate Fighter and Pride are not only informative but entertaining. Even as an extremely casual fan the episodes are so well written it actually makes me want to dig deeper into the topics. Have you seen any of his videos before Neo Zeed ? The Pride stuff especially with Dana and Chuck trying to invade only to get smashed by Rampage was wild. Here's the TUF retrospective which is a pretty sweet look at trashy 00s reality TV but also the role TUF played in UFC's success and the bittersweet fallout of the show for the competitors.

Big moment for Markyd as he scores an interview with "The Master of the Cab Driver Slam" David Young. It's super niche but those who know, know. Got a kick out of the Austin Suggs and "Triple H doing a David Youngesque spinebuster" stories. It also ends on a high note with David Young randomly putting over the Alabama Slam. An official David Young endorsement is just another feather in our boy BOBCORE's cap.

Markyd with some stellar timing. Just the other day we were discussing the 1998 Godwinns and now our guy drops a Southern Justice video. Another secret PW reader? And of course he nails it by being rather impressed with Mark "HOG" Canterbury yet finding Dennis "PIG" Knight worthless. Come for that. Stay for the Wild Slapnuts appearance.

Had to share this video of Corny talking about the 2004 Midnight Express reunion. The ROH show he's discussing is my favorite of the 18 or so Ring of Honor shows I attended and a Top 2 or 3 live wrestling show/experience. Shame the pre-show Q&A was never released due to technical difficulties. Just found out today. That too was a lot of fun.

It was a comparison video of Bastion Booger and Giant Gonzalez (100% serious)!
I don't normally watch YT stuff like that, but I had a look at that one and was kinda surprised how much WWE footage was used in it. I guess Steph's ace attorneys read my mind!

It was a comparison video of Bastion Booger and Giant Gonzalez (100% serious)! Marky gave Giant Gonzalez the nod over the Boogerman. Right choice. Both were awful in the ring. Neither cut promos. But at least Gonzalez had presence and a few moments that sold me on him as a threat in real time. Meanwhile Booger was out there being the first 'star' I ever saw lose their debut match. And to an ice cold Virgil at that! Until watching the video I hadn't realized how few televised matches Gonzalez wrestled. It was only like 9 or thereabouts.

I had to laugh at Rene's explanation for his suspect behaviour on the latest live stream. On r/SC a clip resurfaced of Rene ducking down off camera and a 'sniffing' sound taking place with Rene continuing to sniff afterwards, suggesting he'd just inhaled a substance. So he appears on stream and his story is that he has a toaster that he uses to light up his cigarettes and the noise you're hearing is the toaster going off. Also it's cold outside so his allergies are playing up.
I'm still pretty sus, but I have to applaud the cover story. I still enjoy their little podcast, it's fairly raw and it's refreshing to hear all these Ruthless Aggression era stories.

First I’m hearing of this particular Rene Dupree story but he has a history of odd behavior on his livestreams. Dude is always wandering off screen, surely to deal with his “allergies.”
I listen to his show from time to time if only for the Rene/London friendship stories. What an odd couple! Two guys from different worlds who came up in completely different ways. Yet they’re thick as thieves. I never would have guessed.

I watched the hour or so interview of Lash LeRoux on Cafe De Renee. I feel Lash is a small-scale PW guy who rose to infamy during the Mayhem tournament where Bobby Heenan became a massive booster out of nowhere and really put him over against Scott Hall. Listening to the interview, I wonder if it's because he was so involved in the game's development? Lash tells the story where EA Canada came down to the PowerPlant just to capture some footage and had plans to bring every wrestler into do their mocap. However Lash was so good at executing the lucha libre stuff on top of everything else they were willing to pay him to do it. WCW tried to convince EA otherwise because Lash wasn't contracted to WCW, but EA put him over huge and Lash was signed not long after.
Lash comes off as a really sweet polite guy who is happy to talk about his time in WCW. He's got a much deeper voice than I would have expected (I pictured Jericho but with a twang) and he put over the vets in WCW. Said as much as he appreciated Bischoff and Ferrara (really put over Ed too) he felt it was a mistake to push too many young guys at once. Apparently towards the end of WCW, he'd been written off TV to get change his look and when he was to return was going to get pushed as Cruiserweight Champion. Bischoff had been a little blunt with him about how goofy his hair was and he was hefty, but Bisch was a fan of his so if looked sharper, he was going to get pushed.
Apparantly he has a Bob Ross type show on Conrad's network, so I'll check it out.
Also watched the Hawk's review of the 2018 RAW. I have absolutely zero recollection of Alexa Bliss being the women's GM. I feel like Hawk was being kind on Dolph/Rollins - I think that may have been the 1001 time that year they faced off, including an Iron Man main event the fans absolutely no-sold.

I don't listen to Bischoff's podcast very often but an earlier post put me in a Fall Brawl 95 mood and now I'm glad because I just listened to Bisch and Conrad spend 12 glorious minutes talking about the greatest segment in WCW history: When Paul Orndorff met Gary Spivey and became Wonderful again. Timestamped for your convenience.
