@ness, watch the Vengeance 2002 triple threat tonight. If it's not an instant contender for your favorite match ever, I give up.

For my tastes, I'd have Vengeance 2002 in the same class as but ahead of Unbreakable, and both of which are in the gifted class... whereas WMXX is the brightest pupil of the next class down.

My favorite Triple Threat is still Benoit/HBK/HHH from WM 20, and I know it's hipster, but Ki/Dragon/Daniels from the first ROH show would be a close runner up.

Did we ever do PW's Top Triple Threats countdown? I think there's been talk a few times, but then it's usually covered in discussion... usually comes down to Vengeance and if it even matters since it's mostly the winner lol.

Did we ever do PW's Top Triple Threats countdown? I don't think so and countdowns are dead in History. So list them here! Off the top of my head... 1. Benoit/HBK/HHH- Wrestlemania 20 2. Ki/Dragon/Daniels- ROH Era of Honor Begins 3. Benoit/HHH/HBK- Backlash 2004 4. Awesome/Tanaka/Taz- ECW Anarchy Rulz 1999 5. AJ vs. Joe vs. Daniels- TNA Unbreakable 2005 6. Funk vs. Sandman vs. Stevie- ECW Barely Legal 7. Austin vs. Angle vs. RVD- No Mercy 2001 8. Rock vs. Angle vs. HHH- Summerslam 2000 9. Bryan vs. Orton vs. Batista- Wrestlemania 30 10. Rey vs. Benoit vs. Angle- Smackdown 9/26/02 Unless we count tag team gimmick matches? In which case just spam the above list with a bunch of E&C/Hardys/Dudleys.

Cena/Brock/Bitch Boy Seth I would add.
Didn't remember anything from NM01 as usually Rock/Jericho is the match mentioned from that show. Rest seem approp.

Austin vs. Angle vs. RVD- No Mercy 2001 7. Rock vs. Angle vs. HHH- Summerslam 2000 *Oof. This is tougher than I was expecting. Not a lot of great Triple Threats. Consulting old lists and more recent Match Reviews... 8. Cena vs. Edge vs. HHH- Backlash 2006 (don't even remember this lol) 9. Rey vs. Benoit vs. Angle- Smackdown 9/26/02 10. Ki vs. Kash vs. Daniels- TNA 12/3/03 (I dunno. Can't think of anything else and since I'm on a TNA kick....) Unless we count tag team gimmick matches? In which case just spam the above list with a bunch of E&C/Hardys/Dudleys. Some major omissions IMO! Vengeance 2002 Brock/Cena/Seth Kurt/Brock/Show DB/Orton/Batista Austin/HHH/Mankind Rock/Mankind/Shamrock

Was WM2000 any good or nah? Probably only when Big Show was running wild in the beginning. Show was at his best in multi-man matches. That's one reason I'm so disgusted by my 2003 self nowadays (see above post). EDIT: We took this thread waaaaay off topic and I don't have mod powers here. Big Pete Emperor or RT stick all this Triple Threat talk in the HoW Random thread. Better yet create a new Best Triple Threats thread in HoW instead.

Put me down for...
Raven vs. The Big Show vs. Kane - Wrestlemania X-7 - For my money it's the best hardcore match in WWE history and just a blast to watch all three guys tear apart the backstage and chase each other in buggeys. It also has the rare distinction of ending on a high note.
Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko vs. Saturn - Judgement Day 2000 - I thought this match had some awesome double team/counter wrestling with all three guys bringing something different to the table. Saturn as the power guy, Dean as the technical guy and Eddie as the high flier.
Edge vs. The Undertaker vs. Batista - Armaggeddon 2007 - Edge stole a page from Angle's book but used not one but two decoys to set up the road to Wrestlemania. All three guys had great chemistry together so the general match was a lot of fun, but it's the finish that earns it this spot.
Billy Kidman vs. Rey Mysterio Jr vs. Juventud Guerrera - Starrcade 1998 - Admittedly I'm a Kidman mark and I think this was the peak of his career but this was one of the best openers of the Monday Night Wars. Just an all-round action match with Billy and Rey putting together some nice double team offence on Juvi, turning on one another and Juvi interjecting with these crazy high spots. This may have also been the debut of the Shooting Star Press onto the outside and unlike Wrestlemania XX Kidman didn't concuss himself. Then like a boss, Kidman challenges Eddie after the match after Eddie admonishes his LWO charges and wins that too.
Tajiri vs. Super Crazy vs. Jerry Lynn - November To Remember 1999 - Tajiri/Crazy had one of the best rivalries of the year and when you throw Jerry Lynn into the mix it just elevates it to another level. Crazy brought the suicidal dives, Tajiri had that unorthodox style where Lynn was the meat and potatoes wrestling guy who just brought it altogether and really fires the crowd up when he takes those kicks to the broken ribs and fires up on Tajiri. You can't have a triple threat list without including ECW - it's just wrong otherwise.
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. David Arquette - Slamboree 2000 - I'd be lying to myself if I didn't include the Triple Cage match. I thought the gimmick was great and at the heart of the match it was DDP vs. Jarrett with Arquette playing a good chicken shit character. It was a worthy follow-up to the legendary Jimmy King vs. Diamond Dallas Page 1999 match.
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H - Survivor Series 2009 - I prefer the dynamic of this match over Wrestlemania XX. In XX, Benoit was clearly the third wheel getting in the way of HBK/HHH who just wanted to settle their score. Here, Cena was the target but it was also the last real hurrah for DX and it has one of the best opens to any triple threat ever. Definitely a Top 5 SCM with Shelton Benjamin and Booker T being right up there as 1 & 2.
Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho - Wrestlemania 2000 - I don't care, I still love this match. Kurt who has been protected from day one and given every opportunity to succeed gets screwed over in the most poetic fashion to usher in a golden era for the Canadian Chris'
Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch - TLC 2018 - This was the peak of the women's division with Charlotte and Becky in their prime. Asuka was so good that even after a wishy washy year she jumped straight into this match and got to show what she could do. The match does take a side-track since they had to set things up for the main event and the legacy was kind of spoiled when they had Charlotte beat Asuka for the title but it's still an enjoyable enough spectacle. Just avoid the YouTube version where WWE freeze frames any violent moments. The match already feels overly safe in the PG environment.
Rob Van Dam vs. Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle - No Mercy 2001 - RVD was one of the more interesting interlopers in history. His rise up the ranks felt as organic as anything in the WWE and it really seemed like the WWF may take a hard left and go with Rob. I remember the match being pretty good as well but it seems like it's been forgotten about in time, but as a RVD fan I never forgot about it and No Mercy was one of my favourite WWF shows, period.
The Rock vs. Triple H vs. The Undertaker - RAW 1999 - Just because WWF Wrestlemania 2000 was my introduction to the fed, I loved the Corporate Ministry and this was the best match of the entire angle with Taker/HHH coming to blows and The Rock pulling a great babyface performance to steal the win.
Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle - SmackDown 2002 - It's been mentioned, but this is my pick for #1. There hardly feels like a down moment through out the match and unlike Rock/Angle/Taker which kind of does every main event trope of that era this had some really fresh spots that still hold up to this day.

Big Pete mentioning ECW in connection with the Triple Threat match reminded me I forgot Funk/Sandman/Stevie from Barely Legal. Giving myself a punch to the gut over forgetting that one.

I just mentioned this match the other day as part of the depth of great Austin matches! So, we've provided the most talk about it in the last 20 years, probably.

I have virtually no memories of it and always lowkey thought it was only mentioned because it was a main event for RVD at a time when he was rising up. Rewatch maybe.
