Y’all being worked again. They’re amplifying the fuck out of this. Is there real life hatred towards Punk and Cabana? Yep. Is there animosity from the fuckwit EVPs and Hangman towards Punk and now vice versa? Yep. But not the point any of them are walking out of AEW or being pulled apart by security after a press conference. It’s got everyone talking (again) and it’ll get butts on seats and viewers as a result when we get the inevitable match between The Elite and Hangman against Punk, FTR and maybe Wardlow or another. WWE may have fucked up in the past or even the present, but never to this the degree Tony did tonight where he is facing the real possibility of having to do a show in three days without the core crew that actually runs the show.

HHH and others gonna wake up tomorrow and laugh hysterically that AEW is considered competition.  

I need to really read into the details to pick a side but I have a lot of general concern about all this. It would be so awful for the business if anything happened to this company. The alarm bells are sounding and I’m afraid they’ll only get louder unless he gets someone in there to really help him and take some of this weight off his shoulders.

I mean hard to really side with Punk here. He believes the Bucks spread the rumors that Punk wanted Colt fired and wrestling journalists came out and said, no the Bucks were not the source at all.  And what he did at that scrum was clearly unprofessional.  If he worked for WWE, he would have been fired then and there for that.

Reports are security ran backstage to breakup a fight between The Elite and Punk and Ace that happened during the scrum.  Early reports are it got physical.  

Cannot wait for the news tomorrow:

“As a result of the altercation backstage, Scott Colton has been suspended indefinitely.”

Or better, the fight being posted to Being the Elite...

What is to gain if you are making this some sort of work? It just makes AEW look unprofessional and feel like Tony Khan just seems like he has little to no backbone.

I mean this story has overshadowed everybody else's contributions to the last PPV, that isn't what you want out of your company. 

WWE is trending upward with HHH in charge and the overall morale is solid if not very good at the moment but then you have this for AEW with wrestlers having to outright deny wanting to go back to WWE and/or saying the locker room is nowhere near as toxic as made out to be. This just furthers this notion IMO and amazingly, WWE is the one with the positive press among wrestlers and AEW is the one lacking when the big guns/heads are clashing on camera.

If this was an attempt to defuse and stifle the beat writers, it didn't work because this is plenty of ammo for speculation and he said/she said this. This does the work for the Alvarez's, Salcedo's, SRS's etc. without them even laying a finger. People will be on Ross Sapp's every last word in Fightful content to find out if this is real or not. 

MJF was meant to be the talking point after last night's show and what it means now and how the dynamic has changed. Now he's a mere after thought in the grand scheme of it all. Guess it's a bit karma for how Wardlow got overshadowed by MJF a few months ago but that isn't good for AEW.

The kind of fanbase that Tony is trying to grow doesn’t care about any of that Blindy. They just want to be entertained. That’s literally all they want. Now they’ve got some wild Game of Thrones backstage reality drama to go with their wrestling. Those people might consider tuning in on Wednesday now to see what happens next.

I think Cody made the right decision getting out when he did!

Seriously though Cody left because he wanted the same creative control and it was taken away from him. That’s not a good example.

Although you raise a good point. Tony stripped Cody of all his control and he bailed. Maybe he’s afraid to do it again because of that? Something to consider maybe.

I prefer my wrestling to be more straightforward than this. Not interested in watching CM Punk rant and rave and break kayfabe for 30 minutes, spend mental energy trying to decipher his words, and all the bullshit speculation that comes with it. I did watch 5 minutes of that media scrum and generally had no idea what he was going on about, and I don't care.

The PPV was about 10 hours long, and you're asking me to watch 30 minutes more of optional (but not really optional?) content. No thanks. Nobody is talking about the PPV anymore, which not about the matches, it's all this. If I want bitchy drama queen gossip, I'd stick on one of the million reality shows on TV, or put on Mean Girls. No interest in this.

If they wanted to lure WWE fans or even just a casual audience, than doing this in a niche online only setting like a post scrum isn't the way to go if you want to get buzz. I know this has completely trounced whatever WWE did this weekend with their 2 shows which is advantage point to TK and co. 

This is sports entertainment all of what you said which is suppose to go against what AEW was created to be. They are becoming the WWE. This is what Cody Rhodes got thrown out from under as a booker but now Tony Khan lays his foot down because this is CM Punk we are talking about? I think a lot of people will "Don't fucking watch it" with the NFL competing with the PPV shows of AEW's in the fall/winter and with the NBA right around the corner nightly.

Regardless, TK has to book Punk vs. The Elite right and pronto because it's just going to completely over-shadow any other storyline. They can include MJF into the mix but if they just ignore it on the television show fans are going to lose interest. It'd be like Summer of Punk getting interrupted by an Alberto Del Rio title reign that only Vince McMahon asked for.
