Skull Crushing Finale is an awful finisher name.

At first I thought it must have been a reference to a line from a movie or a song or something - but as far as I can tell, it isn't.

Also, it makes the move sound a lot more dangerous than it is, to the point where it just seems like a joke.

If you told someone who doesn't know wrestling there was a move called the "Skull Crushing Finale" and showed them THAT, they'd be disappointed.

Hercules Hernandez IMO has the legs to be as great as Brutus Beefcake or Hulk Hogan. With a name like that, dude coulda/woulda/shoulda been the legit Hispanic Hulk Hogan.

This is a great shout. Add in his nickname as well and the comparison fits even more so. "The Mighty" Hercules Hernandez. As in "The Incredible" Hulk Hogan which became "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan.

Agree on all these. Taz grew on me over time but I thought that was another goofy one at first. Reading his name in the Apter Mags always made me think of the cartoon character. "If ECW is so badass why are two of its top stars named Taz & Tommy Dreamer lol?" Mikey Whipwreck was another goofy one and your New Jack story never gets old.

Pete bringing up Ken Gaylord reminds me of the Missouri Tiger Jeff Gaylord. Having that name during the 90s was a kiss of death. An instant giggle inducing credibility killer.

Eddie Edwards and Danny Daniels just scream "I am boring" which I suppose fits those two wrestlers.

Taking it modern Evil Uno is almost as bad as El Generico. Not sure I've ever seen an Evil Uno match but he's doing it wrong if he doesn't spend every match giggling maniacally while handing out dreaded Draw Fours. I could never take a wrestler called Evil Uno seriously.

Pete CRASH AND BURN was a walk in the park after living through the Gabe DANGEROUS era.

As for move names I always thought Unprettier was pretty (hehe) bad. Agree that the Skull Crushing Finale isn't what it should be. That move conjures up images of a super death kill driver, not a pseudo Stroke. Joey Styles' annoying penchant for naming every move after wrestlers got annoying real quick. Frankenmikey I'm looking at you.

Always thought Abe “Knuckleball” Schwartz was a great name. Abe Schwartz on its own is nothing special. Conjures up images of the king of klezmer. But that “Knuckleball” nickname really hits the sweet spot. It carries a so so name at best into classic status. Those 3 words just go really well together.

MATT STRIKER'S NICKNAMES!!!

A few months ago, I decided to watch some 2010 WWE PPVs. No idea why. It was just something to do.

I actually liked Matt Striker on commentary at the time...but watching it back, he's so obnoxious. The absolute worst part was the awful nicknames he gave wrestlers.

There was also something kinda...racist about a lot of them.

Gail Kim was "The Saigon Kid". Gail is Korean and Saigon is in Vietnam. Those are totally different countries.

Yoshi Tatsu was "The Neon Genesis". Y'know, like Neon Genesis Evangelion, the anime? He may as well have just called him Pikachu.

Striker also called Tatsu "The Poison Fist of the Pacific Rim". I've got absolutely no idea what this was supposed to mean.

Also a (dis)honourable mention for JR calling Taker "Booger Red". WTF?

They merely adopted those ring names. I was born with it, molded by it. I didn't use it as a ring name until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but my real name!

(I know I’ve stated this several times before but Fergus Ferguson is my real name)

That reminds me of "Speedball" Mike Bailey. Same reason as Knuckeball. It all fits together very nicely.

Hook Bomberry is one of the BEST NAMES OF ALL TIME.

It's a shame they didn't do anymore boomer bait PG13 Disney sequels. Both it and Jungle Book were so refreshing and even if they felt flawed it was nice to re-examine these stories in a different context. Didn't it end when they just remade 101 Dalmations but really pushed the Home Alone gimmick? I tapped out on the remakes after Alice In Wonderland turned out to be a massive bore.

Wheeler Yuta is an awful name.

Related to that, Blackpool Combat Club is the absolute worst stable name I've ever heard. AWFUL.

Harley Race is a similarly great one. Although he missed an opportunity to make his gimmick be centered around racing Fat Boys down the entrance aisle.

I've never even heard of them! But a lot of ads get edited out of WWE shows here. Even when Clash of the Castle was on BT Sport live, it kept suddenly going to ad breaks whenever a Draft Kings promo started or whatever.
