Nope AEW seems to have no interest in nZo. He is amazing now though. He's got a Court Bauer MLW ironclad contract, 1 way ticket sorta thing. Kross & Scarlet avoided getting caught in that.

Maybe it was not shown on the US stream, but the stream I am watching that does not go to commercials showed Ace grabbing the contract. Ace was one of the Second City Saints and is retired so he is not taking the match. Yeah we didn't see him though had we saw him probably most won't recognize him.

I’m not trying to be a Debbie downer or anything about this because I want to like it. But can anyone tell me why having CM Punk fight Mox last week and lose and then announce their PPV match less than a week before their biggest show of the year is better than doing none of that and having a storyline of Punk/Mox unifying the title at their biggest show? Everyone on Reddit is saying “to add layers to the story”. But I’m looking at these layers and thinking but how is that better? Punk going in with a quick-clean loss. The title is already unified. I just can’t see how telling the unifying story wouldn’t have been a much better story than this. So everyone can win in their hometown. Like how NBA and NFL teams perform better at home. Now what doesn't make sense to me is Mox offers an open contract but there is a casino ladder match for what I assume is a title shot. Why not just skip all that and take the contract?

The quick loss was to make sure Punk entered the match as a face. Given both him and Mox are faces, they wanted to make sure fans were cheering Punk and not Mox, so they are giving them an underdog story rather than risk the crowd Cenaing Punk.
