Yep, I’m looking at PFR now and Rams were 8th in defensive EPA and 6th in offensive EPA. So they were a very good team that, as LT said, got worse. Bills, 2nd in both, were the most talented team in the league and got better. The margin of victory is concerning for the Rams, but one game is one game and they don’t play the Bills again.

You can make an easy case for the Chiefs and Bucs.

The Rams are fine - I even picked them to win the west because I don’t love the division but people like to pretend that getting hot at the right time means they were suddenly the best wire to wire and that’s not the case. Stafford wasn’t that great a lot of the year including leading the league in picks and then throwing two in the Super Bowl. They had a very up and down defense as well. Props to them for winning - they buckled up in January but they weren’t the best team for most of the year.

Same with the year the Ravens won and people tried to anoint Flacco who was mediocre at best 85% of the time but got hot at the right time.

Too many fans look at the destination and not the journey to make sweeping declarative statements. I get the goal is the Super Bowl is the end all and what matters but it doesn’t always go to the best team in the league in every given year.

I remember thinking multiple times last season “this team are the super bowl favourites? Really?” While they ended up winning it was a bumpy road to say the least.

I’m also of the belief that if KC didn’t choke against Cincy they would have stomped the Rams into the ground and it would have been another lop-sided super bowl where we’re all bored by halftime. I mean the Rams probably should have lost that game but Cincy fucked up. At least we got a good game.

Oh boy. Oweh getting to face 4th round rookie RT Max Mitchell from the jump with Mr Immobile behind him. Duane Brown goes from not missing a single game last season to now missing the 1st game and possibly much more on IR. He was in for Mehki Becton whose season was lost months ago.

This just means CJ Uzomah or Jeremy Ruckert or Tyler Conklin HAVE TO stay back and help the rookie. Means Corey Davis, Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson have to win their matchups.

Their defence will certainly play better than they did last night but their offence was exposed hard. When they don’t have momentum and can’t throw to Kupp whenever they want, they’re boned.

Rams picked up injuries on their o-line too last night, Allen is out for a few weeks and Noteboom sprained his MCL. Going to get worse up front before it gets better.

Jets OLine has a big question mark at RT with a rookie starting but Baltimore is going to be down Ronnie Stanley protecting Jackson's blindside(Ju'Wan James who hasn't played in like 3 years is starting) and we are about to see the generational center that is Tyler Linderbaum get a "Welcome to the NFL rook" moment going up against Quinnen Williams, John Franklin Myers and Sheldon Rankins today. Place is hopefully loud and it's a wet ball, want to see how good Linderbaum does with the snaps and the OLine leading today.

Going to know today if a potentially less than 100% healthy Linderbaum is "that guy" today or if there's a little bit more seasoning, facing one of the best DTs in the game today who has his eyes on a big payday. 

If Jets get Elijah Moore 1 on 1 with Kyle Hamilton in the slot, throw it all day. Hamilton can be beat on pure speed.
