EDIT: Full list here: aiptcomics.com/2022/09/14/full-2022-pwi-500-list-revealed/The top 20 list is out and the Moxley fans are beside themselves. Top 20 has been released. 1. Roman Reigns 2. Kazuchika Okada 3. CM Punk 4. Hangman Adam Page 5. Bobby Lashley 6. Cody Rhodes 7. Bryan Danielson 8. El Hijo del Vikingo 9. Big E 10. Jonathan Gresham 11. Shingo Takagi 12. Jon Moxley 13. Matt Cardona 14. Josh Alexander 15. Hiroshi Tanahashi 16. MJF 17. Seth Rollins 18. Adam Cole 19. Kenny Omega 20. Drew McIntyre Here is the criteria: reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/xdo68l/before_the_pwi_500_drops_tomorrow_keep_in_mind/What are your thoughts? Personally I think Mox and Alexander are too low and Lashley and Cody are too high but other than that it’s pretty close to what I was expecting. EDIT: that’s a lie. No Jay White or Will Ospreay in the top 20 is bonkers. I had at least one of them making the top 10. Someone post the full list if they see it. I think only the top 20 has been released so far.

Is that Vikingo one of those classic Emperor zingers? In place of White and Pip Pip Cheerio? Token lucha guy?

Completely forgot about Big E, let alone his awfully booked title reign. Everyone wants a baby face champion until they get one.
Agree Cody should be lower too, no denying his injury killed a huge amount of momentum for him and likely threw the spanner in the works of a lot of plans.
Roman is in his rightful place however.

Rollins should definitely be higher TBH.
No way should he be below Big E, Gresham, Alexander and Zack Ryder. Cody is definitely too high too.
Honestly I'd have Drew and Cole above all of them too.

I definitely agree with the top 2.
Will Ospreay not being on the list could be due to him being injured for a portion of the time period, but Kenny Omega was out of action for far longer, so how does that work? I find it very hard to believe that Kenny did more than Ospreay in that time period.
Cody Rhodes is way too high. If I recall correcly he was stinking up the joint in AEW just before he left, then he had a great run in the WWE for the month or two he was active before getting hurt.
Jon Moxley is way too low. Moxley's achievements are at least equal to that of CM Punk, both guys had a ton of singles matches on Dynamite and never lost. Difference is Moxley wrestled a lotoutside of AEW, probably not losing a single match. No idea how Danielson ranks above Moxley either.
Tanahashi sticks out like a sore thumb: he's had some sporadic big wins but loses more than he wins these days.
Adam Cole seems a little low but not as severe as the others.

The fans loved Cody's last few weeks in AEW and the ladder match with Sammy is considered one of the best AEW of all-time (I was never a fan). Cody was the talk of the industry and he went out on a huge high at Hell in a Cell, so I can live with a Top 10 placement.
I'm surprised Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho didn't feature. Kevin Owens and Riddle had to have been close as well.

Reminder that the time period PWI covers is July 1st - June 30th. That comes into play a little for Moxley, who only held the GCW World title during that time, was out at rehab, and didn’t win the interim AEW title until late June. However 12 is still way too low considering who is ahead of him.
Ospreay lost a lot of big matches despite being one of the best performers. Same goes for Rollins though so I don’t know why Seth makes the top 20 and Ospreay doesn't. And if we’re talking performance and title wins, Jay White should be above both of them.
Gresham gets major points for his technical ability and carrying ROH on his shoulders. But top 10? Almost feels like a joke after he dropped his PWI ranking during contract talks.

Will, Jay, and Bron are in 21-30 They said all of the 21-30 but don't remember them. I think Moose is 21 and speed baller Bailey and Sammy is somewhere in there. I know Mickie was mad or joking mad that Nick wasn't top 30. I would leave Cody at that spot possibly higher. Great matches, constantly in news, and that final appearance showing up in HitC what that bruise.
How is Cole that high?

I feel like Punk, Cole and Danielson all got huge points for their debuts in AEW. They quite literally changed the wrestling world just by showing up in that company.

Clearly 501, just barely.
Still trying to figure out how Bubbles got top 200 even over "Hollywood" Mercer.

I'm just happy to see the PWI 500 is still a thing. It was a huge deal to my friends and I for a few years in the 90s.

Saw you posted and was hoping it was one of those long posts about the Aptner Mags. Long wrestling posts are so two weeks ago. I only care about Highlander now. To throw you a bone the 1997 PWI 500 hurt my soul and they gave great heel IC Champs no respect in 95-96.
