Week 2 starts off with a bang as the Amazon debut of TNF brings us a rematch of one of last season's best matchups. Chiefs/Chargers on Thursday night in Week 15 was an OT classic that left us all thinking about the potential of a decades worth of Mahomes vs Herbert battles. Injuries to LA were a big factor in that game, and they might be again this time around, Keenan Allen has already been ruled out, while on a more positive note we might see JC Jackson make his Chargers debut as he's returned to practice.

On Sunday the most intriguing games to my eye are Miami vs Baltimore - the Dolphins defence absolutely destroyed Lamar Jackson and Greg Roman with their cover-0 gameplan last season - and Seattle vs San Francisco - the Seahawks have dominated this matchup for a decade and no one would have predicted they'd start 2-0 and the Niners 0-2. 

Hopefully we'll see a SNF game with a bit more juice this week, the Packers are looking to rebound from a very flat performance in Week 1 just as they did last season, while we'll see if the Bears are a bit better than anyone gave them credit for, or they just fluked an opening week victory in a swimming pool. 

It wraps up with a doubleheader on Monday night where Joe & Troy will be calling the clear pick of the games in Philly. The Eagles and Vikings seem like the two teams most likely to crash into the elite of the NFC this season, and both offences started off very hot. Justin Jefferson and AJ Brown had the two biggest receiving games of Week 1 - will they be able to maintain the pace? 

Little anxious about some of the Chiefs injuries from last week. The team has been great about identifying kickers and putting them in places to succeed and Butker was a pickup to replace an injured player I believe, but tough to hold anyone to the Butker standard. Losing McDuffie so early into the season is tough, hopefully it’ll just be the four games and back. It sounds like Trey Smith might go at Right Guard which is a relief.

Chiefs have played the Chargers right for several years and none of the three games between Mahomes and Herbert have been decided by more than 8 points. Last years games were weird with The Chiefs offense looking great against the Chargers in week 3 but turning the ball over 5 times and losing while the Chargers missed several fourth and short attempts to lose in LA at the end of the year.

All that to say, I have no earthly idea what to expect other than it being close.

Chiefs are using the kicker that started for the Jets last year, Matt Amendola. He has a really good leg going back to OK ST, that wasn't why he lost the gig....his accuracy and his lack of consistency with extra points was a massive bummer. I would not be shocked if KC just goes for some 4th downs to match the Chargers if this does indeed become a shootout.

Big respect to Ammendola for stepping up to punt week 1 last year in Carolina after Braden Mann went down.

Shitty news that Jamal Adams is out for the year. Yes I dislike the guy for what he did but I don't ever root for injuries for anyone. Kind of was hoping to see him late in the year when Jets travel to Seattle if anything.

Just super glad it wasn't the Jets who ended up paying him, glad he got his life changing deal from Seattle and that we were able to get both Garrett Wilson & Alijah Vera Tucker(Gave up something else to move up for him) who *knock on wood& are key cogs for the offense for years to come.

It's kinda a weird scheduling thing having 2 games on Monday night given the 90-minute window.

I probably won’t watch much this weekend as I’ve got a busy one ahead of me. Glad Buffalo plays Monday.

The late game they used to do in Week 1 was always a ratings bomb because a 10pm kickoff on the east coast is too late.

It's not that hard to double screen - and the early game will be coming to it's climax right around half time for the second.

If Week 1 is anything to go by, Titans are about to get it poured upon in Buffalo's home opener by Daboll's ex-unit so you can tune into Cousins trying to win a rare MNF win vs Philly.

Tua is so unapologetic about his height, he's like "Deal with it, i'm friggin' short".

This is a pretty good game for Amazon to get with their first week. Hope the Chiefs win by 30.

I admire Tua's honesty.

A handoff where the runner needs to get 8 yards on a 3rd and 2 is an interesting choice.

When you see Mike Williams play like this you kinda wonder why he isn't putting up 100 yards every week. He's bigger, faster and stronger than basically every CB in the league.

That was undoubtedly pass interference. But there’s nothing I hate more than PI called on an underthrow with the receiver fighting backwards to get to the ball. Felton was considerably more handset than one should be in that spot, but he would’ve been called for PI no matter what just by running forward.

Oh no that is a terrible flag. That was OPI if anything. Big bailout for the Chiefs.

Downside of Amazon, harder for me to back and see the play. I missed the replay, looked like he got tackled in real time but I know Herbstreit said the guy had a reason to be frustrated.

You’re right, though that’s getting called on the defender every time. Presumption of guilt.

Chiefs continuing to try and run on third down is definitely helping their cause though.

Can’t disagree, Bosa and James especially are all over the place! Chiefs feel lucky to be down three. I can’t really tell but I’d like to know what the Chargers are doing to JuJu who looked so seamless in the system last week.
