Bottom line, i dont want another Trish and that's what Ronda will be, the new Trish. Trish was pushed to the moon because she was hott. she was average at best in the ring compared to women like Jacqueline and Ivory. Rousey is merely a celebrity with name value. yes she can fight but so can many other women on the roster...women who worked hard...some through NXT...some on the indies...to get a top spot in WWE. they werent just handed a fat paycheck by Vince/Trips because their name holds a little weight. That's my issue with this. it would be the same if WWE was signing goddamn super models from Milan.

Trish was over as fuck. That’s why she was pushed. Same with Lita.
Matter of fact, most of the most popular women in WWE history didn’t train in dojos and performance center for years. Sunny, Sable, Chyna, Trish didn’t have wrestling backgrounds. You don’t have to be the most talented to be the most over and draw the most money. Some would say it’s fucked up but that’s how it goes sometimes.

I'm seriously baffled as to what could be harder about training in NXT or doing Indy Shows every few weekends as compared to Ronda training combat her entire life to enter the Olympics as an amateur, and then Strikeforce/UFC as a professional. Like Hugh Morrus or Albert forcing people do a shitload of squats is even in the same stratosphere as training to be an Olympian. Clearly, Ronda's rise to the top of the WWE will be quicker than everybody in that wrestling world, but easier? Ronda's name advantage comes off a journey significantly more difficult than every wrestler on that roster, and it's a name that works above every wrestler on that roster because it's combat sports. It's not an actor, or supermodel, it's a legit badass.

I'm willing to be openminded and give Ronda a shot. Let's see what she brings to the squared circle.

You're right, neither Alexa or Asuka has been booked well lately, That was sarcasm by the way. You’re right, they haven’t. Alexa makes the best of the crap material they give her because she’s special. They’ve made Asuka into any other woman on the roster; booking her in 50/50 matches every week. Wasn’t until recently that they have pushed her a little more heavily. And besides that, no one else sticks out. They’ve killed Sasha and Bayley and the Smackdown women have been booked like shit. Bring on Ronda. I have to disagree with you here mate. I like how Asuka has been booked. Seeing her in squash matches against nobodies would've gotten boring quick. The Emma matches were good introductions and she's hardly ever looked weak. She beat the womens champion clean as a whistle.

I don’t like the idea of booking her in competitive matches with Alicia Fox and Emma(not because of her talent but because of her stature on WWE TV). Killed her mystique a bit for me. Like I said though, they’ve booked her better recently and that includes her win over the champ. Still, one decently written woman on the entire main roster is not a good ratio.

Ronda worked as hard or harder on significantly higher stages. The best combatants in the world tried to tear her limb from limb and not only did she withstand it, she quickly rose to the top of the sports world by trouncing all of them for several years. UFC has a women's division solely because of Ronda Rousey. She's earned the right to get paid a lot of money and strongly featured. To compare Ronda to a model looking to hit it big is just about as insulting to her as humanly possible.

Oh you're right there, the ratio of well written women is absolutely appalling. I just liked the nuance of the call-up being significant, the women on the main roster harder to beat then the women down in NXT. Squash matches for new talent just leave a bad taste in my mouth lately. As a reference, I was never impressed with Ryback lifting 2 scrawny blokes on his shoulders.

The women on the main roster should be giving Asuka a tougher challenge, it should be harder for Asuka to beat them... yes, the likes of Emma and Alicia are lower on the card, but kayfabe wise, given they're on the main roster, they should still be harder to beat than the top female talents down in NXT.

The latest newz is that Ronda vs Steph is the favoured WM match, either 1v1 or a mixed tag with Strowman and Triple H involved, while the Horsewomen vs Horsewomen match is off the table. While I don't think anyone really wants to see that, at least it keeps Rousey away from the division (at least at first) and the fear that her involvement will bury everyone who's already there for now.

Ronda has most likely spent more hours rolling on mats than the entire women's division combined. Didn't Charlotte randomly decide to become a wrestler at 26 because she had nothing else going on and then got hot shotted in NXT because of her last name? Oh, the dues one must pay to become a WWE Women's Champion. Ronda already had a Bronze medal and Stikeforce Championship before Charlotte even made strides to become a wrestler. Hell, Ronda probably has wrestled more hours than most of the men's division too. I believe Charlotte started wrestling to honor her brother Reid after he passed away. It was Reid's dream to be a wrestler and had been training before he passed away, so she pursued wrestling to honor him and live out his dream for him. I could be wrong but that's what I've heard and read in interviews, I think it was even mentioned on the Ric Flair 30 for 30 special last year.

Even if that's completely true, it makes no difference to the point I was trying to make. A 26-year-old woman with zero wrestling or combat sport experience decided to become a pro wrestler out of the blue and was pushed heavily by the biggest brand in the world's developmental system at 27 because of a last name she inherited. This is not some story about perseverance and it was certainly an easier path than Ronda building a name from scratch through judo and MMA at the exact same time. The larger point is thinking Ronda Rousey (probably) being hot shotted is somehow not fair the women's division has been built around a legacy wrestler is the worst point anyone can make.

What a buzzkill, right when they get something to bring my eyeballs back to their product they squash whatever hype I had for it by throwing Stephanie Mcmahon right up in the middle of it, history repeating itself(The Invasion), I do not want to see Vince Mcmahon's children on my TV.

I can buy the Steph thing. It's been rumored for years. Buries the division as well since she constantly belittled them, so of course the only one who would stand up to her would be Ronda lol.

Now I kinda wish they would book Ronda as someone who thinks she's above them because she's a "real" athlete.

I'd be peeved too if I was on the roster. Even Asuka is going to take a backseat to her. I'd ask to go back to NXT.

Yeah because wrestling for NXT is better than winning the Women’s title in front of 80,000 people on the most profitable wrestling day of the year. I feel so bad for her. Give me a break. Asuka has gotten and is in the middle of the biggest push of any women’s wrestler in history and it’s going to culminate at Wrestlemania. She will be fine.

I got to believe that if Ronda doesn't become such a cultural phenomenon selling 900,000 PPV buys and becoming the apple of ESPN's eye all these girls lives would be way different right now, probably some of them still wrestling entertaining for the butterfly belt in six diva piss break matches. Some serious jelly going on, none of these girls are even close to her level of star attraction or athleticism, she's most likely going to be a better pro wrestler day 1 than what these girls have been trying to be for however long they've been in it(Bellas, hot but trash wrestlers, Nia Jax!? HA!), they are going to get outshined in a lot of different ways, none of these girls are going to draw the Network subscriptions that Ronda will for WWE, apparently none of them realize the opportunity that brings for them to be headliners over the men in matches that potentially draw more media and attention than any male WWE match could, whoever gets the chance to work with her will become an instant household name. But maybe these girls know something that I don't, I have zero confidence in WWE booking her really, so far I'm not impressed at all with how they started it. I've made a promise to myself not to go full retard with this like I did when she was at her peak in MMA, obviously I'm a huge fan. She will draw my eyes to WWE over anything else, I tried watching Raw a few weeks back and it was straight garbage. I really had no desire to watch the Rumble or Mania this year until all this started going, WWE just seems to be total shit right now all the way around. They've got some good wrestlers in the womens division and with Ronda the potential is there for them to really be the most interesting thing going in the whole company, lets see how it goes. This could be a huge massive fucking train wreck, that will be fun to watch too. For everybody( KJ) praying that Disney buys WWE, Ronda is your savior, they want that girl so fucking bad it kills them.

I'd rather hang out on NXT, than to be so easily cast aside. Disney buying WWE sounds great now

She won’t be on both shows and there are plenty of TV time and opportunities for the other women. Hell, next month we are getting an Elimination Chamber match to highlight the women. All it takes is competent booking(I know I know this is WWE) to highlight more than one female wrestler with all the resources and avenues they have. Ronda being there is a great opportunity for these women to get more exposure and make more money. Being in NXT does neither. Quit being a mark. You’ve been bitching for months that Ronda was guaranteed to win the Rumble and she wasn’t even in it. You should be happy.

I hope it translates to some actual exposure and not just token WM interest. I fear Asuka is gonna be used as a vehicle for Ronda especially when they're finally treating her as a big deal.

Speaking of exposure, Rey’s Royal Rumble video on YouTube has over 6.5 million views compared to Ronda’s debut at 2.3 million views. Instead of talking about Ronda, we should be asking why they haven’t brought Rey back yet. Lol
