Thursday Night Commanders @ Bears
Sunday Early 49ers @ Falcons Patriots @ Browns Jets @ Packers Jaguars @ Colts Vikings @ Dolphins Bengals @ Saints Ravens @ Giants Buccaneers @ Steelers
Sunday Late Panthers @ Rams Cardinals @ Seahawks Bills @ Chiefs
Sunday Night Cowboys @ Eagles
Monday Night Broncos @ Chargers
Week 6 begins with another game that could test Al Michaels' patience, the close to moribund Commanders travelling to Chicago to take on the offensively challenged Bears. If you're looking for a silver lining, Justin Fields did play by far his best football of the season in the second half against Minnesota, albeit not much of a bar to clear.
Early on Sunday the pick of the action is the Wink Martindale revenge game with the improbably 4-1 Giants hosting the AFC North leading Ravens. Baltimore could very easily be 5-0 and while Lamar Jackson wasn't at his best last week against Cincinnati he made enough plays with the game on the line to beat the defending conference champions, while the G-Men are coming off one of the upsets of the season knocking off the Packers in London. Martindale, Kafka and Daboll are coaching their asses off leading a talent-poor and further injury affected roster to victories - Saquon Barkley is well and truly back, and Daniel Jones is playing largely mistake free football.
The marquee game of the week is obviously the rematch we have been waiting for since the divisional round classic between Kansas City and Buffalo. Patrick Mahomes was truly absurd in the clutch that night, but he'll enter this game as a home underdog for the very first time in his career as a result of the explosive start to the season the Bills have had. Buffalo absolutely eviscerated Pittsburgh last time out with Josh Allen doing enough to win AFC offensive player of the week in the first half alone. This is practically football heaven.
On SNF we have a primetime NFC East clash no one can complain about with the undefeated Eagles hosting the Cowboys in what appears to be Cooper Rush's last relief start. Philadelphia have backed up their preseason potential so far and look like the most well rounded team in the NFC, while Dallas are impressively yet to drop a game without Dak Prescott thanks to inspired defensive performances giving up only one touchdown per week.
Week 6 concludes with yet another national interrogation of the discombobulated Broncos as they travel west to take on the Chargers. No team as lost favour as quickly as Denver, a hyped preseason almost instantly turning into a complete disaster of miscommunication, disorganisation, injuries and self loathing. Their opponents managed to right their own ship last week in the face of major personnel losses, finally managing to their running game going against the Texans, Austin Ekeler breaking his season duck with three touchdowns. It will be interesting to see if they can keep that trend going against the resolute Broncos defence.

I have a funny feeling Chicago vs Washington will be exciting tomorrow just to repay us for Indy/Denver. I think both defenses stink.
I think SNF will be a blowout honestly. I think Philly is going to skull fuck the Cowboys. This will be the first game Cooper Rush completely falls apart. Phillys D is going to come out for blood.
I think MNF will be decent, but not as high scoring as some would hope. I think Denver is going to rely on the run a lot with their 3 RBs and the injury news to Russ. Chargers aren’t good in close games, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Denver wins a close one.
But yeah; Buffalo/KC. LFG.

Maybe UT can talk me down but I am not feeling good about this Jets@Packers game, feels like a young team going into a historical field & anxious crowd looking for their team to play well. Feel like Rodgers will take advantage of this defense and this Packers defense will be firing on all cylinders. I think the Jets need to steal one of these 2 road games in Green Bay or Denver, I feel better about the Broncos one. If NYJ can get to 4-3 heading home vs New England, I think we can have a conversation about meaningful December games. Until then, I have a wait and see approach and am just enjoying the watchable football NYJ is providing me.

If he comes in and sticks with this soft two high coverage against a pretty bad young quarterback then the Jets have a good chance - if he tightens it up and starts actually formulating plans based on the opponent he will realize that Wilson is the worst quarterback in the league against man coverage and will make life tough on him all day and make him fit the ball perfectly. So yeah I’m not willing to have faith in Barry not to be a complete fucking idiot for another week and the Jets will keep it close and possibly even win.

I know the Cowboys/Eagles game has some stakes for the NFC East but how are you not gonna flex the Bills/Chiefs to SNF when it's for 1st overall in the AFC?
Apparently Tre White is back at practice but still won't play Sunday. Read that Knox and Poyer should be back so that's good. Edmunds can play now that the stupid injury "has to sit for 4 games" rule is over. Oliver and Mackenzie seem likely to play.
Bye week couldn't have come at a better time. Go all out and show KC who's boss then get some rest. Let's goooooo

CBS would have protected Bills/Chiefs regardless.
These orange Bears uniforms are truly hideous. The complete opposite of the Bengals alternates from the other week.

You don't see sacks on screen plays very often.

This is much better from Chicago on the second possession, moving the pocket is exactly what they need to do. Stops the pass rush from teeing off on Fields and allows him to run if his receivers aren't open.

Not nearly as excited about Chiefs-Bills as everyone else. Last years regular season game should be proof enough that no game in the first half of the season means too much to teams this good.
Could be just preparing myself for what feels like a killing, but I’m just not worried either way.

Not that Zach Wilson has been overwhemingly great but he gets the ball out so much faster than Fields and while he isn't as strong of a runner, he's not far off as far as athleticism goes.
Fields was somewhat close to being the Jets pick at 2 at one point of time, before Zach Wilson had that sick 2020 year at BYU.

To be fair, the weapons and supporting cast around Wilson are so much better in year 2 vs year 1. Much less on Zach's plate, and I think the fact he has yet to go heroball is encouraging. He showed signs of life vs Miami's man coverage, and even though Howard was out, he still faced a mid tier defense and didn't turn the ball over once.
