Multiplayer goes live 2:30am my time, already played through the campaign and it was brilliant.

Anyone else playing on picking this one up?

I get CoD every year but Vanguard was definitely a low point, MWII looks like they are going out on a high note as IIRC this will be the last annual release.

So is this a remake of the original or a completely different MWII?

Um, it’s a reboot similar to Halloween/Halloween Kills.
Follows on from 2019’s Modern Warfare.

Same characters and key plot points are the same but it’s not the exact same story.

I guess it's a reboot like Halloween. The wiki is playing games with my head.

Like I already said, they rebooted it with

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)

with same characters and same key plot points but different missions and multiplayer maps.

and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) is the sequel to the 2019 game, with a new Modern Warfare III likely in the works.


They aren’t just exact remakes of
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare & Modern Warfare II (2009) though remasters of them are available.

Yeah, CoD is pretty much like The Rock of gaming as in it’s the game even non gamers are familiar with. This one seems to be especially popular, people seem to love the MW series and there’s a new Warzone on its way too.

Anyone playing the new Warzone?

You don’t need MWII to play out so if anyone’s interested in a game let me know.
