Yesterday my headlights and my heat stopped working. I figured out the headlights situation and got a new fuse, but the no heat thing is confounding me. The fan is blowing but it's just blowing cold air and it's not a fuse cause I tried that. Are any of you good with cars? How old is the car? Have you checked your coolant levels?

iron maiden just making sure we are on the same page. The heat stopped working? Like the air conditioner/heater stopped blowing hot air. Maybe look into the ac/heater control panel not the thermostat. The thermostat controls the engine temperature not the ac/heater.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. Just odd that it happened same time as my headlights. I'm going to replace the cabin air filter too and maybe flush the coolant system. My car sits a lot now that I work form home 90% of the time. Would you take it in someplace to flush the coolant system or is this something I could do? Do you have it on the red side or the blue side?

Gross, mom's car cost 1200 to fix today. I am far too weak to really spend cash these days so I had it thankfully. Otherwise she was gonna credit card it.

Checked coolant levels and I took it to my mechanic today and coolant is good. Looks like it might be the control panel as bodyslam suggested. I have to pick up a new battery too. The last really cold snap we had in January pretty much killed it. Yeah, I'm thinking the same. Just odd that it happened same time as my headlights. My car is too new to have a 'blue or red side'. It has a digital control panel jackass.

You can't be a dink if you have kids! You're thinking of D.I.N.K.S. My friends who are dinks certainly have kids. And I think UT has proven over the years that despite being a father of a brood that he can still be a dink.

Maybe look into the ac/heater control panel not the thermostat. The thermostat controls the engine temperature not the ac/heater. So turned out to be my thermostat stuck open. It was still blowing, but blowing cold air which really sucked during last week when it was -25. Ironically, the diagnostic computer did not show any issues. I told them what the issue was, so when they called I wasn't shocked. I was shocked when they told me it was going to cost me $200 more than I thought. I was going to attempt to do it myself, but I didn't have the right tools and I honestly had a hard time getting to the T-Stat so I broke down and took it in and braced myself. But other than some body work and brakes in the Spring, I should be good now for awhile. *fingers crossed* UT is still a dink.

These part couple weeks have been a bit of a grind-to say the least as one of my coworkers quit and another is on vacay so I've been working 3 people's jobs, doing school and sleeping an hour here and there. I was supposed to turn in a report last week and didn't with the idea I would hand it in a day late, but then work has been so busy, a day has now turned into a week. I kind of wrote it off thinking 'it's only 5% of my overall mark', but then found out it's actually worth 15% of my final mark. Currently, I'm halfway through this course with a 95%. Because I'd written it off in my mind, I'm not even close to finishing it. Would you hand it in a week late knowing you'll be docked substantially (though the teacher might have mercy on me knowing I've been working like a fiend), or just say 'screw it'?

I think you front up and be honest and you will always get a better result. I do this as someone who has historically ignored things and tried to forget them only to have brief moments of panic go through me like a typhoon

I bit the bullet and signed up for Copilot, it is really expensive and absolutely not worth it, neither is the paid version of ChatGPT by my count. The reason I signed up with Copilot is that we are everything Microsoft here, my email is Office365 and we run of sharepoint and Onedrive. I have no complaints about Microsoft generally.... But Copilot is essentially useless. It can summarise emails or draft emails but for people like you and I who aren't writing generic emails it is not particularly helpful. The best use case where I have seen some advantages is Microsoft Teams, it is able to join meetings, take notes and at the end of the meeting provide a summary and action points for each person. That is great, but even then it is flaky. If you work in a corporate environment they have to enable transcripts and Copilot for it to work. It also isn't perfect. I also tried Otter AI and my work has a lot of jargon and words not in the dictionary, but when it creates a trasnscript it might translate the same spoken word into 4 or 5 different words, so it is impractical to edit it afterwards. You would think if it wasn't sure about a word it would always interpret the same way and then if it wasn't sure you could correct it once and correct it everywhere. I also see no signs of it learning once you correct it. Finally, the stupid things it can't do... Something useful for me would be "Create a new contact from the email signature in this email" and it just won't.... It won't even try. It is so hard to know what to even ask it to do. Soon you should be able to feed it your sharepoint files and have a conversation with it about your data, but it seems to not be able to do things as simple as remembering which directory is your quotes. There is something called Microsoft graph where you can build all your own connectors, but it seems a total pain in the arse for something that you want the AI to do for you. RANT OVER Maybe we will get there, but there is not here and it is not now.
