I just bought tickets to Long Beach for this next February! 



This will be my third time going, the one in 2020 was called a different name but it was a dream trip that I'll never forget. They didn't have one in 2021 because of Covid but they brought it back in 2022 earlier this past February and I loved it again. So this has become a new tradition for me to make a trip to Long Beach every February for this from now on. Hit up a dispensary and go weed shopping then hang on the beach before hitting the fest. 

This year I decided to go cheap and just do Sunday. I'm flying into Cali Saturday morning to hang out then Sunday it's going to be amazing seeing Stephen Marley and Tash back to back, I plan to get there early and get a spot up on the front rail. 



I'm going to use this thread to cope with my stoked-ness and maybe post some pics and videos from the last 2 and hype up some of the bands. This is technically the "Cali Reggae" scene but it's not really reggae it's really evolved into it's own little offshoot form of alternative music. 

If you haven't heard of Little Stranger yet it's time, they blew up this year in this little scene and they are something special. This song has major back deck energy right now in my universe:



I love seeing new bands come out of nowhere and just blow up. I think that is what I love the most about this music scene it's just alive like that. 

They have 3 stages going all at once all weekend and they don't release set times until the week of. This is the band I really hope I get to see on the main stage that Sunday. It's just 2 guys one works the music and the other raps with him they are bad ass: 

Man I feel sorry for anyone who hasn’t heard of The Elovaters yet, what a gem of a new band. They just came from out of nowhere around 2017 with their first album but they didn’t catch on until 2019. I think they turned a lot of heads at Cali Roots festival in Monterrey that Spring. They played at the first festival I went to in 2020 but I didn’t see them and hadn’t really heard about them going in. Shortly after that fest a friend of mine turned me onto them and they’ve kinda blown up in that scene since then. They released a new album in 2021 that was solid gold, my favorite album of that year. I got to see them in Long Beach this past February and they sound sooooooo good.



They came up out of nowhere in 5 years, to me one of the absolute best bands this scene has to offer and the band I probably jammed the most in 2020-2021. All 3 of their albums have been 👌 Castles in 2021 was a real treat, excellent from start to finish I think their best one yet.

You know a show is loaded when Pepper aren't considered a lead act on either 3 nights. Holy shit.

Ballyhoo! are one of my favorite acts, they are fantastic. Have been a huge fan of theirs for years, going back to the late 00's. Enjoy the show Shin.
